From what I can determine from forgiveness, it is the most needed and appreciated gift when given.
Further, forgiveness is not appreciated until it is understood. Does that suggest that sin is necessary, why yes it does. That was what Satan originally said to beguile Eve, and whether or not she realized the significance or not, mankind had to sin and need forgiveness.
It is our very natures that are sinful and must be forgiven, so understanding forgiveness is entirely essential to any eternal existance.
