My own fireside

It was fun. Tonight, I had a fire side where I both spoke and was the audience. The topic was on loving everything starting with "the man in the mirror". Sorry, my thoughts happen in song a lot of the time. I wanted to expound and stress this:

" You only get one body per lifetime, so give it the respect it deserves."

Ofcourse, I used a Stargate reference. I referred to an episode in Atlantis where Elizabeth is part of a group of ascended beings who are desperately coniving to get a physical form. Cause this is a physical world and all and to cause things to happen we have to do sometimes. It is not enough to think or have great powers without a physical form. That episode always makes me feel much better about my body because I am thinking of everything I can do opposed to what I lack.

My next point was something a friend pointed out how I had a baby or two, and you know, I do not really know how to create a body and yet, my body took care of it all, and did a pretty darned good job, too!

Blah, blah...

I concluded by saying that you always learn far more than you can hope to teach and included a few sources to gain first hand knowledge from. Ha ha ha. I told you that I was the audience, right. Saying that is funny!

One more thing I want to record. I did not apologize for not having sufficient time to prepare because someone told me that when they hear that they instantly tune out anything you say cause if you weren't prepared to talk they aren't going to listen. I usually think, it is not like you would have spent more time preparing anyway, look at it as you had less time to stress.

It was fun, and I'll do it again.

Service is key to any mission. People will hold on to a good feeling wether or not they remember your message.

Missionaries do not teach but the spirit does, they just live so that they can easily bring that spirit to others.

We do not always see what came before and comes after our act of service to others.

Callings help us develop as much as scripture reading forms our character which is just as much an evident part of ourselves.

We are blessed when we are trying our hardest. This is evident by the bishop who is somehow able to do all things over which he is responsible.

Gospel principles are easy to doubt instead of trust too.

It is a gift. If we gain the trust via experience, but some can know.

Desire a blessing, do you have the faith to not be healed. We do not know what will happen.

When we pray our answers come in a round about way, God is not desiring to get credit like we expect.

If we do not participate you will not gain until you try.

Faith in the atonement you have to really believe it.

It is harder once you fall, and that is better because more faith is required to believe even though things did not appear to work, but you have to try again.

Satan will be bound by us having faith first and then we know things and it will be impossible to tempt us.

Some things require work.

You are NEVER alone when you serve him, so it is important to remember that you facilitate, but HE does the duty.

Story of getting a mission call, and elder who submitted his papers, but felt like the call was wrong, he didn't have faith, so he needed time. Faith proceeds the miracle, if he does too soon, you do bot get to exercise the faith, and gain a testimony.

Relief Society -

Who ever has enough of what you don't need.

We were shown a lot of various books that entertain and such, but the best books are our scriptures.

If we read our scriptures we will be ahead in the world ahead.

Joseph Smith was given scriptures as the age of eight and preferred to read his scriptures than all else. He was a scriptorian.

We all need to be learning continually, especially the gospel, because knowledge is the thing we take with us.

Quote scriptures is good, but the part we remember becomes part of us and part of our testimony.

It is important to understand that revelation comes from God, if a things doesn't seem right, we can get personal revelation from the same source and know if a thing is the same.

I just spoke last year on mother's day so I thought I was safe, but I guess they don't keep track.

Mother sees to things constantly although much resistance is met, this is what is seen as a good mother by their children.

When my mother heard I was going to speak, she told me NOT to talk about how I was a perfect mom, etc. saying the house was clean and I always had things ready to eat. He replied, "Oh, I would never.."

His talk was not even directed towards mothers, but instead how men out to support and love the women in their lives.

Lovestories

It is no wonder divorce rates are so high, just from the stories I have collected, love stories. I am just waiting for someone to be so excited to tell their story like it is the greatest love story ever told. I like to hear how people met, because it really is a strange thing to go from an unknown person to the one you will build your eternal future on. Like every single young women, I expect a great revelation or moment of truth in their story, and I naturally see them like books or movies, and fully expect something as grand when told about people finding their partener for life, but am instead siprised to find many hold this pinnacle achievement of their life as common as anything else. One day, as I ask, "So what is your story?" The teller will be so excited to tell it will be like telling how it felt to know your religious beliefs were true. Brigham Young said that he would prefer testimonies to great orations calculated to inspire and fascinated. Well, that is how I feel about Love stories. I would rather hear a woman tell mehow she knows that her husband is her rightful patriarch than any well-written fictional love though they inspire, too.

Thought that generates a feeling

Every one of us are God's children, and as such, we all eagerly awaited, jumping from the train, unaware of what might befall us. We each have a different journey, but the same destination. And everything really was intended.

What was valuable to bring?
Photos and important papers.

Every life has different stories, but they all end up in the same destination. Each journey tells a great story.

Some stories or accounts of journeies help us to hear and know things, it helps us on the way. This is what the scriptures do for us.

It reminds me of the thing someone told me about how different the story is to the teller than it is percieved by the listener.

Each of us took that step daunting as it may have been, to live our journey. (Likened in my mind to jumping off a speeding train like Uchtdorf's sister).

Lord loves us as we are and not as the way the world see's us. Our JR is eager to help.

Even those we do not particularly like were eager to take part as well.

Real love of Christ is a pure absolutely true language.

Love was fluently spoken by all and might spark a thing in others.

Be of Good Cheer. Remember that you are a child of God. Be happy regardless of what we must endure. We really ought to be so happy to do so, just remember your divine nature. Be an inspiration to others.

Story about a young man who did not go to church even, but prayed so hard and Heavenly Father actually told him what needed to be done. And that was to remove his leg. He has no doubt. His journey will assist others.

Lots of what odd, we get to see in stories of others the things (truths) that we need. Like Sis Monk who concluded that things happen for a reason.
