Braindump

How could he remember his sins but have no pain or guilt? Because when we repent, we are “born of God.” We become, as the scriptures say, “new creatures” in Christ.

We remember our sins but not the pain or guilt.

Memory of sin is essential for building who we are. Like when my son was baptized and was very worried about what would be lost. Reminds me of the story of the nails leaving holes even after the nails are removed from the fence the damage was done.

Weaknesses and sins are not the same thing, but the atonement can fix them.

Forgive others because it is important to remember that the atonement applies to everyone. It makes me think about how I know that so and so falls short of things so I pray even more because that is what I would want others to do for me if ever I fell short.... Christ's love can not be increased or decreased. And that is EXACTLY how I feel about this, and I know that God loves and will always be there to supply aide when I need it, precisely because I had that thought and am his daughter.

Brain dump

Story about family history. Ask what Heavenly Father wants us to focus on right now....research prayerfully.

I once was as you are now and you will be as I now am.

Interesting to me that God chose this situation of a need of the gospel to be preached to the gentiles as the recorded means of teaching us how to receive revelation. And how significant it is for us to accept and love ALL of God's children.

______________________________
How can the revelation in Acts 10 help us heed the Lord’s continuing revelation through His prophet?

Suppose someone suggested that you take a calculus class before you had learned algebra or geometry. How would you respond? How does this relate to the Lord’s pattern for revealing truth?

The prayers of the righteous can bring forth great miracles.

Thus, we tend to believe the Lord will give us a big answer quickly and all at one time. However, the pattern repeatedly described in the scriptures suggests we receive ‘line upon line, precept upon precept,’ or in other words, many small answers

No way is superior to gain revelation but acting upon it is still the most important. God works through men.

Read the talk "God is at the Helm."

The church all prayed for Peter and an angel came and interveined.

I am so glad that it was shared that James was not saved simply it was not God's will.

Peter was miraculously saved but he still needs help getting in his front door. Where is the angel then? So, again it is important to remember what mattered to Heavenly Father.

People can change like Saul but seeing them as God sees then, as a fellow child of God is important.

Individuals still have ability to choose, but Paul is sort of a diamond in the rough and he is being prepared to serve... Makes me think of what Jesus said about even the rocks would praise him if he forbade the people from doing it. it matters so much about our faith in things as they truly ARE.  Regardless of what might seem to be.

"No right way to do the wrong thing."

Spend time thinking about what it means that the church is for everyone.

Story about leaning on a stranger in the elevator.

Discover your talent and then use it to serve others.

Service can and should be a way of life. It is a great thing to do as a family.

The act of serving can be a good and bonding time. Through it we are able to grow.

St. Francis said that quote I attributed earlier to Jason Stehli and now Brock Aldrich shared it.

Ogden tabernacle tonight. Pioneer devotional. At 7pm?

We are allowed so few vices, this one is mine (regarding diet coke).

"Too often we trade what we need for what we want right now."

"Was it worth it?" Sonetimes a child might do a thing and get disciplined and loose the thing that they truly wanted.

Building and iron rod picture. Reminds me of the stiry of the rich man asking tge savior what he should do.

The iron rod is the word of God. Try to carefully keep it in your day.

The entire lesson to me is about not being a people pleaser...and it makes me feel apologetic about the strictness of the way.

What does it mean when it says for "mature" audiences.

"Let the fire of the covenent burn inside you and be unquenchable."

No spiritual power in doing what is convenient (Regarding callings, etc.)

Brain dump

Casting lots pretty chancy way to choose an apostle but it is most sure a way the Holy Ghost chooses a person, not by most qualified. Example was after Joseph Smith died and new chuch leader was chosen.

The Lord’s way is quiet, it is a way of peace, it is without fanfare or monetary costs. It is without egotism or vanity or ambition. Under the Lord’s plan, those who have responsibility to select officers are governed by one overriding question: ‘Whom would the Lord have?’

Others notice a huge difference between being directed by the Holy Ghost and then, not even if they may not notice when they live that way.

Just because a thing feels good doesn't mean it is right. Cause we can be flattered into wrong choices.

Maybe dig a little deeper to see the fruits.

Repentance is essential to be able to achieve. Repentance is requiring sincerity.

One of the worst sins is denying the Holy Ghost.

Peter might have felt inadequate totge task of building a foundation of the whole church, but instead in theacts of the apostles we see the Holy Ghost gave the evidence oh confidence needed to do as required.

No campaigning for position in the Chruch, evidence that it is the Lord's church. -from a quote from a prophet

The procedure is peculiar to the Lord’s church. There is no seeking for office, no jockeying for position, no campaigning to promote one’s virtues. Contrast the Lord’s way with the way of the world. The Lord’s way is quiet, it is a way of peace, it is without fanfare or monetary costs. It is without egotism or vanity or ambition. Under the Lord’s plan, those who have responsibility to select officers are governed by one overriding question: ‘Whom would the Lord have?’ There is quiet and thoughtful deliberation. And there is much of prayer to receive the confirmation of the Holy Spirit that the choice is correct” (“God Is at the Helm,” Ensign, May 1994, 53).

We are not even supposed to use the Atonement to break-even and be forgiven
Of all you did when you lived.

There are almost no times when we get to see how we are blessed by relying on the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost does not tell us things and then not expect us to not do anything. And the more we do them instantly, the more we are relied on.
