Brain dump

Adversity, only children haven't grown from it but they will get their chance.

Adversity makes us stronger, push ups noted that at BYU president did 72 pushups on 72 birthday, we cannot learn with out opposition.

Universal, probably we were all taught about it in a pre existance.

Living is the classroom of life, need adversity then?

My struggle might seem large or long to me, but it will only be a moment compared to eternity.

A guide on a hike shows us where to put our hands and feet, by example, they have experience.

The adversary might not be able to get us to do drugs or be immoral, but he can keep us from doing the best thing, our best tool is prayer and the Holy Ghost to teach us.

We must battle the enemy toall righteousness every day. -Brigham Young.

We have expiriences where we meet with someone at the right time and they are prepared and they are recognized this might be due to promises made in the preexistance.

Sunday School

Our Heavenly Father had a body and so we,want to emulate, him, but further why did,he have one? It makes,me think of the stargate episode where the ascended brings wanted bodies.

When I was obeying what my parents told me then the doctors said I survived because of it.

We call things weeds that might cure us.

We do not give enough respect to wisdom of the past.

Tobacco can be useful in dogs and horses. Pervert the nature of things so that it is not used at all. Marajuana has been perverted.

Smoking on airplanes, was not allowed because the air is regiritated. Secondhand smoke.

Try to know how drugs could be used.

Story of guy in Vietnam put glass in ice cubes and poison tattoos, but obeying word of wisdom can keep us out of trouble.

The guy who was to take over at a vineyard but asked could he take a bit of wine.

One sin leads to another, like the lady who smoked and was aggressive and addicted, and she would steal. etc.

Word of wisdom is not specific because all of our bodies are different.

It just seemed like the things like drinking and smoking were not good things.

It is important for our minds to work well and function to keep our overall health.

Leaving at. 10 to 11.

August meet, greet, eat Aug 14th at the Hirchi's. 6:30

Our home needs to be a sanctuary Christ centered, like drawing of a hoe with Christ is the center.

Story where she teaches but assumes no one is listening, then her eldest daughter said, " maybe we could make treats and take them to people." When they were planning fun stuff.

Eat together and always have a prayer.
Music playing. Teaching opportunities of objects.

Story of finding a caterpillar on milkweed plant, cacoon. It looked old and dead, something seemed to go wrong, but the butterfly was perfect and beautiful.

Mountain formed by gradual, 4 to 6 millimeters, (lady said, my toenails grow faster) but it became the incredible mountain mckinnely. It would be silly to have to measure the growth of that mountain in small increments... Line upon line. Do not be weary by small and simple things do great things happen.

Peace at Home talk by Elder Scott.

Just having all things like scriptures in your pocket will not do you any good. They must be in your heart.

Friendship is like asphalt, how it can make things smooth and fill in holes and improve the facade.

It seems like they are not getting
anything out of things like FHE.

A lady tells about growing up with stalwart mother who tried to do stuff, and her brother who is not a member now is trying to rekindle those things she did.

How important it is to make it feel like home. A home has a feeling that others want to be in.

Teach our children to know the Lord. If they believe that it will help them above all else.

Regardless of your circumstance you can center your life on Christ.

**Like the cacoon, we must trust the Lord's timing. Always see the positive.**

IiWe need to trust in the Lord and in His timing that a positive response to our prayers and rescue efforts can occur. We do all that we can to serve, to bless, and to submissively acknowledge God’s will in all things. We exercise faith and remember that there are some things that must be left to the Lord. He invites us to set our burdens down at His feet. With faith we can know that this straying loved one is not abandoned but is in the watchcare of a loving Savior.

Do not loose faith, even though the cacoon looks dead, something is happening inside.

Do not ever Ever give up, but have faith.

Brain dump

We do not seek callings or seek to be released, but serve God.

It is interesting to me how the thing people seem to do best is the one they feel most inadequate doing.

Taylor from Falcon Ridge ward served in the Philippines.

Has a strong testimony of the scriptures.

He asked people cause he enjoyed the stories they shared, not to check up on how good they were doing.

How we feel about this test of our life is related to how prepared we are.

Story about physics class and catapulting a pingpong ball, and he got his in the bucket, it is like Christ who passed the test perfectly, and he wants us all to pass, too.

Mother and son piano duet. She must feel so wonderful. I think that would be one of the most awesome feelings to sit beside my child and have them play, it makes me think of Vivaldi and how he made otherwise untalented children appear better than they were.. or the song where these, lyrics are sung, "I'd like to know how it feels to sing to more than just the steering wheel." We all sound good when we sing along with someone who is talented.

Come unto me. His disciples asked 'where dwelest thou?" He told them to follow him and he would  show them.

Spirituality is an important. Story of a boy who chose to be an institute teacher instead of a doctor.

There will be hardships in life, but if the soul that has sufficient faith will be safe. "His covenant of peace will not be removed."

"My peace I give unto you..."  It likely makes our father upset that we do not take the savior's peace into our life.

god will not ever abandon us, He cannot. If we keep his commandments and draw to him then he will protect us.

Story of Class reunion and the lady who would not attend but congratulated everyone and apologized for not being over her trouble, but it was hers and not theirs and hopefully she would be able to attend the 30th reunion.  It was not just her problem... We similarly have obligations in our social spheres, namely.wards, etc.

Peter was able to walk on the water when he kept his focus on him, then he noticed the situation fully, and fell. But the savior grabbed him, as he will all of us, that we do not fall.

It is the little acts of service that make the most difference.

If the spirit tells you a thing, then, do it!
No coincidences.

Praying for others is import.

Cookie plates, do we pray first? I thought that might be the case with the ones brought to me last night, all of the food is exactly what I would have gotten.

Don't let me Rob you of the blessing of serving him.

My blessing told me that each opportunity for service builds on each other so drastically.

We can miss opportunities to serve or be served. It is drawing close to.the Lord.

Will find ourself because there will be more of us to find it is being like God.

I would like someone to address being self-sufficient vs being served.

Building blocks are built by our service. Everyone needs a calling. We should pray for a calling.

Grew up in another church, but he knew something was missing. He learned a lot about services like HT, Priesthood blessings, etc. It is good feeling. It was very rewarding to serve others,  it is good, something good came out of it.

Story about a family he regularly took to church, it did not seem like service, because there was no sacrifice. Eventually, the boys came back.

Church asks us to do things that we would not really like, but even at Job interviews people have the qualities that employers are looking for.

We can find repentence of our sins through missionary service.

Ward garden needs more work.

9 am cleaning the kitchen.

We learn more from eachother, and comments, etc.

We must take action, things will not just happen. But, ultimately we are assured that the Lord will help us.

Where the Lord plants us, that's what he wants us to focus on, and leave rest up to God.

Parable if the Rich man who wanted to enter the Kingdom of God. He was a very good man, but that was not enough.

Remember that we need God to help in all things.

Balance of self-reliance and reliance on others. The Atonement. We do all we can, but finally it is by the grace of God that we can enter Heaven.

Obedience is the most important thing. It is part of unity.

We are all required to give up the thing we love more.

Quote shared that God doesn't ask about our abilities when he asks us to do something.

When we trust someone we are not afraid to do what they ask.

Example of Sariah conceiving when she was 90. Impossible to man, and women hope by then it will be impossible.

(It makes me wonder if I will have another child.)

We must depend on our God and keep our focus single to him.

Blood or stitches

I am not sure which one was causing the terrible taste in my mouth, but my influenced guess is the dissolving stitches. I have tasted blood before, but this is far worse.

It seems like I will never be able to eat the foods I'd like again, but my improvements have continued though much much slower than I'd like. I am chewing gum again though and wear make up, on occasion. Though my chin is still completely numb I at least have one, and seeing my teeth does make me happy. They are sooooo worth it! I'd drink all the blood and stitches again, if it meant new pretty teeth!

This is ...

This is backwards, resting all day and then being unable to sleep at night, but I like it. I like the peace of night time. It means that I will not be interrupted if I do something. Transitions are always hard, but sometimes they are necessary.

Atlantis time again

I started watching Stargate Atlantis again, and I love it so much, I think I will kick off this round with a mighty lesson learned from Season 1 Episode 14 (Sanctuary). In this episode there is an ascended ancient who is living in a world of her own, profiding and protecting perfectly, yet, she is hiding and after centuries she starts to feel alone when fatefully, she is (pretending to speak on behalf of this great diety) invited to Atlantis (formerly the city of the ancients).

The greatest lesson, which I am not able to say if it was intended or the truth was just stumbled on by creating new situations, was how she was curious spiritually about all of the, various, beliefs earth had.

Her world was entirely populated by people's who acted and believed in accordance. Descisions were not difficult to form because they were all of the same intent. Though, she loved the creation of so,many great and wonderful philosophies, but the disagreed on points and issues arose which could not be solved though commonality.

Strange coincidence

At the time, I did not think much of it, sort of like her change in hair color, which incidentally, I noticed because she noticed what I had done, but I didn't even say anything. Why? Saying the things you notice gives others valuable feedback.

Anyway, I woke up thinking about the extremely charming dental assistant and how she told me that she played trombone. And the major coincidence is why she played it opposed to what she wanted to play. But, it turns out with conversation that we have a whole lot in common, although, she is taller, younger, and much more sure of herself.

Hey, maybe that is what was so significant that was supposed to occur to me. The thing that made her so beautiful to me was how able she was. Not her manicure, or hair, or any number of other things she had done, at some expense, to compensate for lack of self worth.

She had a very pretty smile, too, but explained that she had to have major surgery and have her mouth wired shut for weeks, until it "set". It was worth it, if you ask me, especially in her profession, which I wonder if she will peruse after she has children, but that is another topic alltogether, huh?

No synagog required

My husband forbade me from attending church today, to heal, it makes sense, but as the saying goes, "you can take the girl out of the Honky Tonk, but you can't take the Honky Tonk out of the girl." That's the way it is with me and the Sabbath. Sure, I might not be in a church Building, but I am still prayerful and worshipful, and God is everywhere. In the Book of Mormon there is a group of people who built a grand synagog and then denied the poor from worshiping there. They followed a man named Zoram and so were called Zoramites. Through many situations and lessons we learn that it really does not matter how fine your place of worship is or isn't (reminds,me of all of those mighty cathedrals in Europe) God hears our prayers regardless of the origin. He also knows the intent of our hearts.

Really quick, I was blabbering to someone about how I think it a blessing to not be adequately forewarned about public speaking because 1) less time to worry 2) the extra time would not be spent studying and writing anyway. And a comment was brilliantly added that when someone apologizes for not being sufficiently prepared, the audience thinks, then I can tune out if you didn't take your job seriously, to study then, likewise I will not take,my job of listening seriously.

Ok, so I realized that I will miss the sacrament, that's sad, but I am learning truths intended to be learned through whatever means I search for them.

For example, I miss the talks and lessons, but I just got a cool lesson I always missed before while watching the movie "17 Miracles". When asked to begin burning the remains Levi Savage says nothing. This is the same reaction I give to a lot of things. Now, I do not know if it was actin, writing, or directing insight but clearly he has a lot on his mind an out of fear or reacting incorrectly he does not react. Now, that there is a wrong way to react there is,a right way. A nearby soldier speaks up and says that the solution is prayer. I was taught that this is similarly my solution, he he, to have a free-speaking soldier present at all times.

Ok, that was a joke, but it did explain another reason why it is not good to be alone. Clearly, some action was required, but too often I am unable to make one instantly, sort of like not going to church. I would have, but my husband saw that it would not be wise, because he does not think I am recovered yet, and too much exertion would do harm. So we need the need for counselors and for missionaries, companions, and for doctors we have second opinions.

Offenses

People get offended by "Holier Than Thou" people way too easily and selfishly assign meaning where none was intended.

It usually comes from someone who regrets what they have done or are doing. They judge themselves and so assume that anyone with an ammount of dignity they relate to must be judging them.

Brain Dump

We are loved more than we,know. Example is that we think no one will notice if we die, but it is amazing how much we are missed.

A boy that told a story about how differently a leader noticed he was and asked if he was Mormon because he had a certain thing about him. Recognized by others that he had read his scriptures.

Brad in Seattle lost his wallet.

Liberty in law is more than a in-law joke. True freedom is only found through obedience to the law. This brings peace of mind.

Sacrifice -story about guy who was, investigated the church, he would not listen at all to hear about tithing, but he eventually

Any church who would not require sacrifice does not have the authority

Peace offering - to recognize a higher law
Burnt offering - this had a lot to do with smoke.
Sin offering - to trade for repentance.

The animal was blessed and became symbolic of them.

We need to inquire of the Jews if they understand what the sacrifices for.

Sacrament requires a broken heart and contrite spirit.

Your sin causes problems for others, you feel more remorse. It can cause more broken heartedness.

We actually, recognize those that are also harmed by our sins.

Isaac - how old was he? Well, we know that he wasn't a teenager, cause  they will not do anything.

We sacrifice our children by letting them go out the front door, but we pray they won't die.

Why do we have alters in the temple, specifically, why do we have alters when we are married over the alter.

Story about a man who left his family for church wrote a letter to his father the dat he was baptised and his dad still had that letter in his belongings when he died.

Unless we sacrifice we will not feel comfortable.

Give up something we like for.something better.

Elder Porter's talk

Optimistic roomate. Someone was singing "Oh what a Beautiful Morning".

Two ways to greet the morning "Elder Pitts" in England said, "You can say ThNk you Lord it is morning, or say oh Lord, it's morning."

Asked others what they thought of when the word  morning is used.

Light was mentioned. The Lord is a likeness or Metaphor  for light.

Things that make a beautiful morning include prayer, scripture, music.

Things never seem as terrible in the morning as they did at night.

I needed to bear my testimony about a thing if I do not get a chance to say it. **I did. It was how when we were being judged to determine which kingdom to go to at a youth conference the only thing we were asked was if we believed in pur Savior. Which I did and marveled at how simple that was. It is because I believe .

Scriptures. Lord speaks to us through the scriptures. We speak to him in prayer. Scriptures are the same thing as having the words of a living prophet.

Elder Faust talked about priesthood blessings, and how you can become who you should and the blessings give you a small peek, if we could see the person we were we would easily obey anything quickly.

Makes me think of the film Validation.

Story about a bishop who called everyone on their birthday.

Obituary that said, "I love life and life loves me."

Turn pessimism to optimism.

Intentions

I was going to write of things that I meant to accomplish but realized that it would encompass my entire life.

I just feel it accutely today.

And, that is why the, best advice a friend gave me years ago, but it still stuck with me is don't settle for less than you intend. Life changes on a dime, if it's not going how you like, just wait. The same is true for if things are going your way. By your way, I mean the way you intend.

Also, my balm would be to those who are struggling like me with intentions that make you feel helpless think about why you have intentions and either get rid of them or do something about it.
