Braindump

When the words of Joseph Smith are used they are in Bold in book of the day which is a smaller version of the Joseph Smith papers which are slated to be done in 2015, not likely. All those papers are found online.

Hardship not unto death, bit will be survived. To ne it is crazy that one would even worry about that.

Letter sent from Parley Pratt, explaining that they being incarcerated protected them from the arms of other men.

Samson Aavard - left saying that he was only doing things that he had to do, and was very anti. Look him up online. I suspect there is a great story there.

Parley saw Joseph in chains rebuke the people and the fairest viewers away and begged for forgiveness. He had been in the prescense of kings and rulers, but he claims to have only beheld true majesty that once.

Erastus Snow name dropped and pretended to be a lawyer. And impressed the court.
Taught that Ishmael was from Ephraim while Lehi was of Manasseh.

Read the 29 page letter it became fodder for section 121, 122, 123.

The things we endure are the things that we need precisely to make us fit for future duties. The story of Uchtdorf riding that stupid bike it seemed unliked but that hardship helped him develop abilities that he needed to be a great pilot.

How many things do we do to correct out of an anger in making yourself feel bad.

Reading section 121 often is needed.

If the Devil attacks a think when something is right.

A scriptures significance can be measured by it's resistance.

No righteous man is taken before his time. This is like Abinidi who cannot be killed until he has done his part.

No one will be unexpected when they die, to the spirits in post mortal world, but it sometimes seems untimely on earth to us.

Elias Higbee went to white house and knocked on the front door.

Claimed in MO they could not be tried in Davies county because

Jeddidiah Grant gave talks with no script so the people gave him a topic on a paper and ends up it was blank, so he likened it to aspects of the gospel. The people bought him a horse and such as was needed.

Hankerchief from Josph Smith to Wilford Woodruff. And told him to wipe a brow and the ill man would be healed.

There are some very interesting stories of the Lyman family.

"I would give my life to believe again."

Luke Johnson is ancestor of elder Packer's wife.

It is niave to think that our faithfulness only effects us.

Our trials are consecrated for our good. Repeat.

Murky water

I wanted to share a quote, but unlike those who could remember much later the exact words that were said, my brain takes a shorthand version, and gives me more or less, the impressions. When left to oneself water becomes murky. What I mean by that is that sorta like the puget sound has a inlet so that the water does not become stagnent, but instead is just well, I cannot remember what we called it in SCUBA class but it means murky or low visibility. We need a constant flow of clean water because we are all sinners and a tiny misdimeanor will slip in polluting the water, like that little piece of candy you ate that was not ascribed to your diet. Or as one of my sons used and object lesson of a piece of yarn, single stranded it cannot do much, but wound around my knees several times? I cannot walk.
I have noticed a trend in others lives, which we all tend to do, it sorta keeps us from getting too self centered, right? :) anyway, I know a scripture D&C 82:10 "I the Lord am Bound when Ye do what I say..." It can be recalled to fit many situations, but right now I am using it to explain Exact Obedience. Everything the Lord promises is conditional. We cannot obey in part and expect him to bless in full. But, (pardon another scripture popped into mind) "To be learned is good if we harken unto God..."too often though that good thing, becomesa piece of yarn that trips us. When we get so much wisdom we start to think it is of ourselves and we forget the source or maybe the water gets too murky and we actually think that we thought everything worthwhile anyway, and perhaps we know better.

I say again, if left to oneself, our very water becomes murky.

Music

Usually, a person incubates a thought perfecting it before disclosing it, like music.

But, I was overly anxious to share so as soon as a thought struck me I hottest it down, I loved this and so I honed my craft. But, I found that though know how increased, I was more impressed with unforced revelation. I could force a marvelous creation because that is what I was trained to do, but I felt like I was neglecting my old skills of capturing something as it just suddenly existed in my mind.

Now, I do the same thing with words. I get a feeling and go with it, where ever it leads me, like this post, I was very impressed by a single thought, now a writer would stew it over for a while and allow more impressions to form regarding the same thing until they had gathered enough to write an incredible article. I just want to capture and then I can go on to thinking about something else. I watched an interview with Regina Spektor where she explained that she had a huge backlog of ideas to realize. I like that. Another woman at church said regarding so many great movies that they would never had been able to influence others in such a marvelous way, or even existed if someone had not journaled the story. No one could come up with stories as profound as true stories with their true lessons. I mean, how cathartic is it to align oneself with real people/events.

So, the comment was that no one does music like Layton East stake. And though technically that is right, the idea expressed it true, if only meant as a pep talk. I think that is why I love it here so much and feel at home, and why I ended up originally in music city.

There is an unspoken power in music. And when people who really have something to say, it does not always fit in words. Anyway, when the people here use music, skilled or not, I hear wonderful things and just wanted to remember that.

There was a Cellist who accompanied our choir yesterday and then last night we went to a music fireside, the talent was amazing. To me, it is only natural that these people present so much goodness through music.

Brain dump

Saturday 5:30 baptism.

Bro. Weaver visiting a RM. Home comming and asked to speak.
Talked about being scout leader of the younger version of the boy who served a mission.
It is important to always magnify our calling, it really does so much missionary work.

Brother Murphy talked about Christ's parable of the sheep and the goats.

Almost all of us are hungry and need to be fed spiritually.

Privilige to work with the young men.

The missionary was always serious and somber, I forget the word for it he used, but it means driven, focused, and not at all taking anything lightly.

Hastening work is contagious.

It was inspired to get rid of that bit of space after highschool and serving a mission.

I am so glad to hear the talk by pres. Eyeing this morning in particular the part about accepting callings and the significance of serving with the young men, it is especially reserved for many Noble and Great ones. It is true for any calling no matter. If we serve others then we will learn it.

This is the church of Jesus Christ. He began his discourse about the savior by bearing his testimony of this.

Becoming perfect is the goal of this church and it is actually obtainable.

This very tough looking dude was
the one who needed the gospel.

Story about the guy who could not do it. This young missionary said, "but yes, you can." His favorite scripture from Moroni, days that others would be forgiven no limit to amount of times is stated.

A letter of release was read. And was impressive.

Sunday School - Post mortal world.

Where is it? Brigham Young said it right around us.

3 day transition period time when a body dies.

That transition is a comfort and reassurance that there is a life after death.

Our spirits are in what shape? A rectangle said someone joking.

You spiritual Ether 3:16 we look like who we are now only perfect.

Alma 34:34 spirit, that posesses our body.

Story from other manual about a man who was converted because of death he no longer doubted the things he was taught but needed someone to do his temple work.

D & C 130 comes to mind.

Likened to stars, moon and Sun. Stars do not appear when moon shines so bright.

The no sorrow is incomprehensible.

If we are busy, it is good to know that we will not just be sitting around doing nothing.

Missionary work is vital because of the thing my philosophy teacher told us about how when we die if anyone we know will be in help, we would be sad.

Cancer 4.5 but he survived. We cannot judge those because we do not know how much is comprehended.

RS notes:

Nov 8 veterans day thingy.

Wednesday going to the temple

Ask people to contribute because talk is short.

Even though good family activity it will not substitute.

Shares a vision of Lehi. Relate it to the people of today, there are three types.

1rst group never had the gospel.

2nd group was very religious, but fell away, but did not endure.

3rd group was of the gospel but never fell away.

We tend to be selective in what we will choose.

Every group is going through the mists of darkness but only one has something to hold on to.

But, what about those who feel like they survived and then let go.

Suckor mean to give assistance in time of distress or want.

To hold the rod we must serve others and strive to suckor their wants even.

Repent means to renew. Look up renew. Go forward even stronger.

Revelation comes from attending church meetings and studying our scriptures.

If only I had a new day, after sleep, I could do better. Sometimes, she thinks she needs a new day too early.

There is a reason why I need to be there.

What makes us ashamed enough, after we ate and then it distracts us.

The nothing under the building is idle time, keeps us being grounded.

So, even after we eat of the fruit we still must hold to the rod, it would be a huge blessing to find the iron rod again.

Not attending can have eternal consequences.

Way more blessings than trials because of going to all meetings, she knows the church is true, and it is a blessing.

People decide it is not anything new, we have heard it all before.

Strength to Endure.

Another advantage I mangled into a disadvantage

First was my musical skill which should have allowed me a greater ability to communicate, but I griped about being so misunderstood, then my physique which perfectly lent it's power and beauty, but I only fretted about being different, though, it was better and now I complain about being too plain and ordinary. But, the real advantage I realized was that I was blessed to both be raised to and realize the insignificance of money in a family. Never had it, never cared a bit for it and considered myself fortunate, and really it opened a whole lot of possibilities as far as companion because my choice had nothing to do with money, but that wasn't enough for me. I determined that I did not require love either, and got so into not limiting my possibilities, I turned what could have been a limiting advantage (cause now I know that not being interested in money is rare among women) into a huge disadvantage, not only would I live in poverty but I would not live on love. And now I am living on my sheer desire to succeed which, admittedly at times wears thin. I am beyond not having any money, I cannot have anything, and I do not have love either so what the heck do I have? Well, it is not an eternal flame or enduring Passion, but cute little kids for which I would sacrifice and do so much, but I wonder if I am still too selfish. Maybe if I really loved them then I would get away and let them have an eternal family to be sealed to for eternity. I just can not be sure of any such thing. Cause, and this is the heart wrenching kicker. I think my husband loves me. I didn't used to even think that and I thought that the reason we were not sealed yet was because he did not value me enough, but, now I think he just is too dumb to think if it. It honestly never occurs to him that he could jepordize his family because he does not see the significance of a temple marraige, so to him just our little legal arrangement is significant enough. Blah, I must get to bed.

I promised to love him and our family, but I had no right. I was only thinking of making life easier than being a single parent. So, I agreed to it, and thought another child would seal my fate, because I would never dare leaving them regardless. And things were so busy my head was spinning, but as they mellow out, and I come to my senses I scream out, "what have I done?" It Is like when you cut your bangs, sure, they are cute for a while, and will grow out again, but how are you going to endure the troubles associated with styling them if they do not feel worth it and you wonder. "What have I done?"

Brain dump

The studying and reading is the fun part of teaching, She explains that she loves the people, teaching is not as fun.

We over simplify who covenant people are, but it is less about blood than about our faithfulness.

The servant Eleazar went very far to Hebron to find a wife. Given strict counsel to not pick a local girl.

The teacher said that her greatest fear is giving false information.

Women go out twice a day to go get water.

The servant had a plan and then went to the Lord to have it solidified.

No man had seen the likness of Rebekah (JST), but it is her carachter that is so beautiful. She was willing to water for all his camel 10 each to about 30 gallons a piece.

She hasted which means ran.

It was polite to give a traveler a drink, but she wanted to do her best to help this man, and it speaks well of her character.

It is so much fun to hear someone read about it.

The Lord said, "Rebekah is before you. Take her and go." Her family wanted her to stay 10 days, but she just went.

This story is as good as pride and prejudice.

The most important choice you will ever make is not about you choice for occupation. Your greatest choice of all is your spouse.

Personal worthiness is more important that birthright.

For 20 years she (Rebekah) was barren.

Her sons were they named at birth?
The big to do was for the birthright, similarly do we value our birthright? With that I think about how often I have expressed a thanks for being "born to goodly parents."

Essay marrying a hittite was a grief of mind to his parents.

We know that Rebekah and Jacob were not trucking her husband to make a future that was promised.
But, when Isaac, found out what happened he did not revoke the blessing.

Isaac was not a firstborn himself, nor was Abraham.

Your birthright is worth more than any worldly wealth.

Jacob had a dream.  Genesis 28:12
A temple experience.

Instead of dreadful it ought to be awesome in our vernacular.

Wedding lasts a week, but Jacob figured it out, the first day.

D&C 132:63 explains polygamy.

Gen 31 reminds me of how the people of Missouri were towards the early saints.

As Jacob's wrestle with the Lord was a prepare. Like Enos did. Spiritual struggles often proceed spiritual progress.

Wrestle  means to struggle.

There are fights and Tiffs, but the bond between siblings is very strong.

Often we want a do over because we fear that we did not do our best.

Kinda' facebooky

Me, me, me. I don't have a photo but I am going to talk about me which will tell you more anyway, though less visually informative, so I guess it will lack that much Facebook goodness, oh let's argue ,"Tastes Great!" "Less Filing!" ok, we see how pointless that was, now, on to me....
I thought because I love to study and learn that I wanted to be a teacher, just always have, then I had kids and attended Relief Society and actually paid attention, and I realized all mothers love to teach, it is sort of a God-given inheritance or something.

Now, picture a mug on a desk, all that screams academia. I bet the mug clearly says "World's Greatest Teacher". Naturally, I wanted to emulate what was great and what was greatest beyond all greatness? Jesus Christ, often referred to as Rabi, or teacher.

By nature, I wanted to be the greatest teacher, but then realized my place. I am strangely drawn to being a student. Let me explain. When I watch videos of the Savior teaching I have an almost unquenchable desire to be there, I do not listen as much to what he says as that he is teaching. I have actually received a commandment to be a student, and I have always willingly been. Not much else excites me as much as learning. I want to win the title of "World's Greatest Student."

This thought just in, don't teachers always say that they learned so much more than they could teach? Further, great teachers always quote other teachers, so perhaps nothing has changed on the surface. My natural evolution would be a teacher from a student, but my purpose would change from mastering information to pass it on to others to just trying to be the best student ever which encompasses being the best teacher.

Brain dump

When you get older you loose things, our teacher comments that he lost time. About a hour just disappeared and cannot be found.

Make scripture reading a part of you regime and you will find untold blessings.

What do you do to loose the disposition to do evil? Prayer and scripture study. >Meaningful<

Teaching a class or our other opportunity we have in callings. We will gain a whole lot more in gaining a proper disposition when we seek to help others.

Book of the week Joseph Smith and the Restoration was studied when teaching at BYU.

You will like how you feel when you read this.

"I love the history of the church."

Ohio was a temporary place. They did not build accordingly.

Zion's Camp was successful but not in terms of it's own eyes.

Joseph needed an assistant, often as Brother Poll studied about Joseph, he thought "This guy needs someone who will always have his back." Oliver Cowdery then Hyrum Smith was that needed assistant to the president of the church.

Cannot live in a place without trees.

Driven from Mo by force, but Kirtland by persecution.

There is nothing in Kirtland, and we are still blamed for desolation.

Prairy land was desolate and not deemed at all worthy of supporting life. But, the saints were blossoming and things were growing extremely well.

Story of Mormon miracle with nail in the window, Luke Johnson.

Chapter of Isaiah story about stem of Jesse, David's father. Rod coming out of it. And root is all explained well in the notes on the final page of the blog info found at http://garypoll.blogspot.com - Someone brought up Clolumbus' claim. Teacher explained dual properties and ambiguousness of his writing. (A bit like astrologers and Nostrodomus or even fortune cookies their success is a result of their ambigousness.

David said that dying a matrys death wouldnot be so bad. His last words were to his wife. And he appears to a man calling him to repentance, after apostasy. Joseph told him to be careful what you ask for.

History of church is not always remembered accurately.

The church does not have the right to tell me what to do...

They chose to serve in building up the church instead of earning a living. "Best years of my life, I was a fool to give to you" from Chess. But, also a scripture comes to mind "... Riches where moth doth not corrupt."

Church got its name from the Lord, and it is significant.

Adam-info-Ahman
Place is being prepared  and kept for the return of the Savior.

Gallatin is mentioned, that is where my children are.

Oliver Grainger  get to know.

Nicolitians wants to be in the church but stay worldly. In d & c section warning to an apostle.

Would be cool to meet a prophet and tell him that you fufilled a prophecy of his.

Memorize. Thousands of passages from Book of Mormon.

Brigham Young found a lot interesting what people considered surplus. People were willing, but did not think to give the "first fruits" and some sought to reserve property because they speculated that it was not surplus because they intended to use,it, or give .

I refuse to comment about things that I know nothing about, but if I know a little I will expound a great deal.

"Tithing are periodic love notes to the Savior saying I love you more than this money."

Other faiths stated that we are so lucky in the stability of neo.g a teacher. They do not know Wether they will be considered for employment from season to season.

Saints of Hauns Mill would have been spared if they had heeded the words of the Prophet.

Things I love

My favorite things include a sign that read "The Hokey Pokey Clinic: a place to turn yourself around", a few comments I had heard "Like a cow in tall grass, I am udderly tickled to be here." and "98 percent of all statistics are made up. I just made that up." and stir fry vegtables.

I loved a comment I heard in class, "Tithing is my little love notes to the Savior saying I love you more than money."

Daily wisdom

Todays lesson came from the choice to let Mary Anne constantly play with things that will be ruined.

I realized that the huge purchase was initially made to please me, and it pleases me most to make her happy and if she breaks so many of my things, I ought to show displeasure, but ultimately the purpose, has not changed and so I gave it to her and feel like it is the right thing although any teaching I have known says to not give it back, still, though hard at times, I try to obey my instincts because with the right perspective my choices change in consequence to support the things I may not have been taught to do but are true.

Eternally a ruined thing will bearno consequence, but a child's love will, and even if she doesn't see it either, she is learning to love me by my forgiving her, let me say, that she has to feel bad and want forgiveness and know that the behavior was not acceptable.

intentional trick?

My thought this evening is that maybe my extreme ignorance is all for my own good. I was thinking that some things which might appear a way to others who do not really know as much as they think they do. And then there are things that make absolutely no sense to me. There are things that feel so wrong I have to hope because the way the story appears to go is not going how I would have ever pleasantly imagined it would.

OK, let me start over. I think I purposely appear to be what I am not. I am aware of things now so that I may do something about it, but at the same time, I worry that even knowing myself puts me in danger. At least I understand now the thing I wanted to say regarding a situation of which no one ever sought my opinion, "you cannot unknow a thing".

So, my mortal life is a trick. The thought was actually that people love to think they understand things and are supposed to do a thing, and that is how a successful con is done.

repeat, repeat, repeat, rep...

I struggled with where this thought should go, but I was sure that it should go somewhere, maybe it is for you.

I was thinking about how helpful it is to me to sort of do over. I think it is because of my brain inadequacies. They probably make things less coherent, but all mankind has less efficient brains, my condition only makes me aware of a design inadequacy. I'll just plug this thought here, until I get around to editing and placing it properly, which I probably will never do, but this is important: When I was studying for tests I would scan a page so that I could dream about it later and rest my body while I study. My mother told me that I ought not use my dreams/brain that way. Rest was intended. My wonder is whether this inefficiency was intended. I have often wondered about why we only use part of our brains as many do. Hence TV programs like "Heroes" was born in an attempt to address possible uses. In a lot of Science fiction the ideal, or futuristic man uses more of his brain to become a greater being. I think understanding Mormonism brings us closer to a possibility.

God created bodies in his own "likeness" but he is all knowing an all powerful. From what I know of information storage and utilization as a computer technician, If used differently (once a size is determined) by file allocation systems more information can be stored and recalled as needed not by changing the hardware, but the system of recall IE NTFS vs FAT or FAT32. It is possible that once resurrected we will have the same bodies but will be given greater functionality making us more like God. I think of a scripture from the book of Moses 1:39 "Behold, it is my work and my glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." (a funny, a guy gave a talk when I was a teen on the immorality and eternal life of man, not intentionally) So, it was always intended for us to have this latent ability.

Now, I will point out 3 areas in which God uses redundancy. I assert that our stupidity, right now, is only temporary and we are given ways to make up for our inability to retrieve information (like the ability to have the Holy Ghost bring things to our mind because he is part of the Godhead but is a personage of spirit only and can dwell in us.). When God, our Heavenly father sends messages he repeats them. We review lessons and conference talks multiple times. Lastly, we are asked to return to the temple again and again, so that we might actually comprehend things. So, I feel that our capacity is diminished to comprehend multiple and essential things and so we repeat them.

First, when angels visited men he often repeated exactly.

Next, Lena's frustration with the same lessons being taught in RS as in primary didn't we learn them yet? We are actually commanded to reread scripture, likely to understand the law. I get new things out of reviewing conference talks. Our scriptures take on new meanings when we read for congruity vs. pondering principles.

Lastly, Just to comprehend what is being taught by the use of symbols alone requires repetition in our temple attendance. And because so much cannot be published outside of temple walls, information, fundamental to our returning to God must be learned therein by repetition.

Thought is from Uchtdorf's talk about doubting our doubts before we doubt our faith.

Book - Shaken Faith Syndrome

Brother Poll has an accepting mind not a questioning mind. He believed things when they were true. We need to be empathetic to those who do not have minds like ours. The book deals with so many commonly questioned troubles

Somethings taught have not been true. I think of brother Holland's talk and now my mind is blank.

Really impressive are the people who came back after being so intellectual and questioing things they were humble enough to sort of suck it up.

Heber sent to England. Williard Richards and Four others who had roots to England went.

"Truth will prevail." Seen on a political sign in Preston, England.

112 1837 only revelation.

We all have conference moments where we know a specific talk was for us. Everyone, including the apostles has troubles and prayers.

Fell out of bed because they did not get in far enough yet.

Sister what's her name, talked about the difference between beliving and being converted.

Thongs are more valuable than can be bought. It is interesting that this story is explained because I did not really agree Maybe her influence would have been greater, and it was not said that to this story our heroine it is not clearly explained how this choice effected her. Maybe, I need to be more active in the lives of my children far away, I have always assumed that a broader eternal perspectivecan let others go, if her daughter was 16 should she not have been succiciently taught and let go decided for herself?

Story of Heber Kimball assisting to give a blessing to a man who felt an evil presence.

England is a great microcosm for us to observe what happens when a nation experiences a huge change like they did with industrial revolution.

Google LDS and UK and look at the videos on YouTube. They are very interesting.

Most of us are here because of what happened to bring about.

Luke Johnson warned people including Joseph Smith who at a time is seen by the mob, but not recognized.

People are setting up church members to be caught stealing.

Your future is as bright as your faith.

Nothing you endure is so difficult that the Lord does not know what you should do.

This was unothodoxically shared so to me marked significance, and definate, unmistakable inspiration, because it was not prwthpught but just acted upon an impulse, and transmission received.

A revelation not in the book... "...your labors are finished in this place..."

The church is true, and the conference was the words of the lord spoken to us.

Whether by his voice or the voice of his servants, it is the same. From
Slow.

The Lord blessed us in ways we do not understand, but he understands us and put needa.

If you have a question and haven't asked God, do it. He will answer us.
No matter what you need, ask him. He will respond.

An idea to feed the missionaries by dropping something off.

Lesson 21 next time.

Missionaries have success.

He was feeling a pull towards another direction than his education that he was starting. We do feel pulls in different directions.

And he ended up serving many missions.

Many missions you can touch so many lives.

As a prophet missionary work is an Important duty.

It is always the time to do missionary work.

We fear praying to recievecause we know we will receive. There are always ways to love others, which missionary work really is.

Challenged each ward to have at least 2 discussions.

We have very busy missionaries with 30 discussions as a result of last stake conference. The work is hastening.

How do we make others happy? Share what we have.

Story about husband who was a convert, and everywhere he goes he starts conversations and gives scriptures.

One lady was praying that a person from the LDS church would stop by and it was her husband.

It is common when people join the church they are very anxious to share the gospel.

Before we teach anything we have to find someone.

*I, Melissa, do not know how my prayers will be answered, absolutely no idea. How or what but I know that the Lord loves one person who is constantly on my mind. And I will constantly pray for that one thing, to me that is the way to show love.*

Keep trying do not give up just because of lack of success. It is our responsibility to find a way to every human heart.

Nothing is impossible for God.

May I say something to help others. It is important to pray for that especially with our visiting teaching sisters.

Hey! We are all someone's teachee.

Power of Everyday Missionary book we need to read.

Another inspiration struck it said doing good is like cleaning a room little insignificant bits add up.

Also, We ought to secretly drop off food for the missionaries.

Name

I was thinking about how much I love it here and it, well, you know how minds take course changes so quickly that it seems like your current thought has nothing traceable to do with the original thought. So, I ended up thinking about how maybe it is my duty to absorb what I can and bring it back to those who chose to bloom where they were planted, like a bee does it's pollen. And I giggled to think that my name actually is Greek for Honeybee and this is the beehive state naturally, I love it here, but I am not from here I am uniquely qualified to share all I have gained in a way that would be acceptable, a lot like the stargate Atlantis episode where Shepherd had to go in to get the eggs of the irratus bug because he alone produced a phermone that made hum acceptable to the nesting bugs. Not that the other places are so malicious, but there were always unspoken tensions between the indigenios folk and the "Utah" people who present their ways as the best and only way.

I have considered how I ended up here at this time, and it is a bit of a miracle. I was happily married and in the stake primary presidency with 2 darling girls and one on the way, then Boom! The economy fell but never fear. We owned a farm home on 4 acres, on a hill safely away from any metropolis.

Oh yeah, I got sick and divorced and unable to walk, or sing, or play piano, though they called me to play and teach in the primary. So, this really was the only way, although I did not see it as such, but there is an invisible string controling my actions, like that song "Boy on a string". I still have my agency, but I will do what is expected of me "duty means doing the thing your heart may well regret." From Barbie. But, the Lord loves me and accordinly grants me to feel content and like my intents were realized only causing his will secondarly, that is soo sweet and kind. But, just yesterday someone put it well that the trials may seem like they goin forever, but they will end. I see that with my own children, how they do not know how things have to line up
to be right and so they hear, "in a second..." A lot, and might feel like I am being unattentive because things are not instantly granted. So I figure it is with our Heavenly parents.

When the Lord asks us to do something, obey.

Thought with everthing being shut down maybe we would not have class. - Brother Poll

--Can't we use the tools in the opposites, like swearing is placed in the mind.--

Some of our greatest doctrine/lessons are in the hymns. No hymnal page numbers only hymn numbers. Some people pay attention to this.

Brother Tanner gave a timely gift of money that allowed church to buy old French farm used as place to build temple.

Rebuked for not building a temple and that would allow the Lord to give blessings to them.

They were given dimensions for a temple and designations for each floor.

Why do we not record the specified dimensions anymore, but I susppose they are still specified by revelation.

Others saw a vision of what would be, and they testified that it did become the things seen.

Canadian guy thought of using dishes to make the plaster so it would glistening when the sun shown.

Don Carlos a 19 yrs. old and a high priest.

Joseph saw his brother in celestial kingdom when the brother had not been baptized and others thought or said he would go to help.

Brigham Young was a painter.

Part of endowment was done before temple was completed. Called the initiatory.

Called the Pentecostal time period because of the great experiences.

The brethren gaurded the temple and the grave yard because a nearby medical school would try to steal bodies.

People who had significant sacred experiences, were denied the first dedication because it was entirely packed and left the church because of it.

"Foxes have holes and birds have nests", gave a short talk of 1 and half hours. Sidney Rigdon was a great orator and that was their entertainment. They were better listeners.

Angels gaurd us and protect us as we take his name upon us.

Joseph Smith did not tell his story though it was very important because it was sacred.

Be careful how sacred things are shared.

He liked how studying a thing made him feel. Extremely fascinating!

David Patten translated the words of Brigham Young. He was a member of the quorum of twelve but cannot remember his birth year So another is given senority.

Significant spiritual events of temple dedication were later spoken of in Utah.

Essential things never change. In reference to the living revelation which is how the way things change and yet God is unchanged, but the way he communicates must.

Sacred things cannot leave the temple, but are not secret.

It is better to remain unspotted as that way the intention of instructing is easier to make without fear of being made light. For example, try to tell your young children about sex.

When very significant manifestations were made, others attended with the intent to redicule if others claims to supernatural happenings. So, we tend to get what we are looking for, the spirit was restrained as we learn that The things of God are not to be mocked, like how parables are used to say things but only to those who really listen.

Riches in Salem were not in money, but a better reward. A number of baptisms and number of ancestors.

Ask while in the trial what we should be doing.

Final dump (conference edition)

Jeremiah is a contemporary of Lehi.

Gathering is not just a place, but a state of mind.

Unrightousness is a terrible  form of bondage.

Juggling three balls.
1) work
2) children
3) marriage
One of theseballs it seems always ends updroped.

It is a false doctrine that women are less because they choose to stay home.

We will regret even spreading doctrine or appearing to support ideas that belittle mothers or grandmothers.

Part of our duty is to stay out of bondage of any type.

Priesthood power is not owned by the man, like a man who opens drapes to let sun in they perform the duty but do not make the sun shine.

We cannot understand all things so if we do not understand the priesthood it is entirely it is ok.

Make sure women are asked, afterall they are the mothers.

A woman made money to send her children to church. It was that important.

Our destiny is to prepare the earth for the return of the Savior.

A teacher's success is a secret that will be shared.

1) recognize that you are an agent of the Lord.
2) teach only the truth.
3) teach from sanctioned sources.

It is a duty of a teacher to seek the gift of the Holy Ghost, through your own personal gospel study.

Though study of the materials is important, eloquence just happens with the spirit, which comes from first deserving that blessing. We must put in an effort to be prepared the best we can, but be willing then to let go and let God, giving up and not trying cause the spirit will teach anyway, that will be about as effective as socialism.

An effective teacher is also a student.

It ought to present itself to you as being true, and that feeling can teach others that it is true.

I loved referring to people as rather than missionaries and investigators call them teachers and students.

(Coming to Utah is like a reward for holding fast to the rod and I have eaten now, it is a matter of staying strong and enduring now even of peer pressure tries to make me doubt or belittle the whole matter, peer pressure is still peer pressure good or bad and choice must be ours.)

We are always blessed for our choice to attend all of our meetings.

It even is usually a choice between staying or a seemingly as good option, but we are commanded and have covenanted to attend all meetings.

Children will be blessed from our everyday descions.

So absorbed in what we were doing that we failed to see signs.

Don't forget to look up.

We might miss less obvious spiritual occurrances.

Do not judge a thing's validity by it's obvious acceptance. But, by their fruits Ye may know them!

There is saftey in a strong testimony.

If we love the Lord he loves us and protects us. A great story about a grandchild being asked how he accomplished a thing, he explain it was probably just a gift from Grandpa who is looking out for him cause he loves him.

Heavenly father could stop anything hurtful, so if we suffer it is part of an expression of love.

Our soul desires things that have been placed.

Stellar spirits are housed in infirm bodies.

Age is one of the gifts from our father in heaven.

Premature death only comes when one is not prepared.

We were chosen because of our spiritual attributes.

Self mastery is ability to put reason over instincts. Fasting is an example of this...

The spirits born now were spirits with the proper aptitudes. We did not even have bodies yet...

True change only comes through use of the atonement.

True liberation comes from freeing ourselves and changing so that we master our desires. It CAN be done.

Regardless of what is acceptable, doctrine is not going to change and it will be the only way for us to be truly happy is by accepting, living or applying that doctrinal principle.

Brain dump 3 (conference edition)

Love thy God is the greatest commandment and love thy neighbor is second.

The greatest choice for family happiness is to accept callings, regardless of what they are.

No matter how dispicable you feel you are, there are angels that has been sent specifically for you, you are a child of God. Emphasis on Child.

Our ultimate priority in life is to know and love God, which is the same thing.

God promises to bless those who remember him first, like Pres. Eyring's story about the supposed insensitivities of his father who ought to have placed his wife's happiness in a higher place without being told such.

The morals are more important than the stories or personal explanation, like various ways thought of to illustrate the placing other gods first.

Unlike other organizations, we cannot change because we are basing our standards on truths. And we are still under covenant to follow and love God and not follow other gods, or the world.

Let is have the courage to stand up against consensus. - from a talk of Pres. Monson.

We must never deviate from serving God first. To do so would be a moral coward.

Cool thought! She is humbled to stand where so many of her heros stood.

Conversion is a process not an event.

Example with tithing trial of our faith is how we learn a thing is true.

When you are truly converted you worry about others.

I think about Enos and as he prayed and put his soul in line with what ought to be, then he prayed for his brethren.

We are entirely free to choose, but it was known that we would make mistakes, so we have the opportunity to repent through the atonement.

Each morning we face trials we can rely on this.

There is a strong correlation between physical strife and spiritual strife both require effort and endurance.

We might be haunted by long term effects of our poor choices, but we must remember the Lamanites who refused to return to their sinful lives and buddies their weapons, then they could not protect their family which seems like a righteous thing, but Helaman was their wise leader and was reminded that another consequence of their choice was a solid, righteous family, their wives had taught their sons great things which armed them more with faith which out powers weapons anyday.

The prophet considers his wife an angel for what she endured. He is aware of the suffering and loneliness his calling necessarily caused. He finds peace in knowing that they will be together again, and that knowledge sustains.

Shattered dreams happen, we all ask "why me?" Or " Shall I falter or endure?"

Like Job was told we sometimes think it is better to curse God and die, but we can be pulled up and cling to hope. Suffering is universal.

A old man was deaf and blind and said, "the Lord has been so good to me."

We feel great joy when we overcome.

Brain dump 2 (conference edition)

if it is not this thing it will be another, so do not wait for a more convenient time

The wickedness that we see around us was accounted in the scriptures by Paul and Moroni.

When you need guidance read the scriptures. It does not matter which ones.

Be not afraid, only believe. Those who stray will be able to return, the oppourtunity is there they only need believe again.

Man had guilt in old age that was caused from something done in his youth. But, with a story from BoM he was able to leave how guilt, like the scripture in Isaiah.

Scriptures are a key to spiritual protection. -Boyd K. Packer

The influence for good of women is jot the only one,but it is definetly an under appreciated one.

Often it is so good but this wonderful talent is so second nature it is unnoticed ourselves.

No place is better suited for a woman to meet her potential. Where not possible it is dupilicated.

Women shape the destiny of future more so than wars even.

Spring of morality. Men are made better by association of women.

Equal opportunity promiscuity.

Women act like women now, and it is not a good thing. We can be equal but we need to be virtous and pure, and tender.

Womanhood has an instead morality to be pure and virtous.

Be modest not vain.

Gentle goodness is not just a woman's duty.

Prophet called you story.

The time to hasten the work is now.

Coach who had a simple goal, just win, where as the players thought it was about game plans, but that is why he (the coach)has a stadium named after him.

1)pray to bring someone every day.
2) pray for people who are taught by the missionaries daily.
3) invite a person into our home.

The scriptures use exclamation marks, too.

By small means are great things brought to pass. Like the story of BY who was asked to not ever come back, but just asking her to sing a hymn was enough to invite the spirit. Often, the case is that the Lord prepares the heart and our duty is nothing great.

Opposition is not a flaw in the plan of salvation, but a necessary part.

Forgiveness was often preached by a woman who was persecuted in a concentration camp, but she could not forgive a former soldier until she prayed several times, the final time she asked properly realizing that it was the Savior who really forgives, she had been asking to forgive of herself.

A mental illness is as terrible as being diagnosed with cancer.

Depression is like a crater in the mind. We cannot simply positevly think it away.

Never loose Faith and hope. The Love of God is always there. Believe in miracles.

Be aware of warning signs.

If we do not take time now, we surely will be given time of sickness.

You cannot fix everything, but fix what you can, and be patient.

Do not run harder than you need to.

Charity NEVER faileth.

No matter how broken we feel NEVER end our own life. Because as long as we live we are able to be reconstituted.

Work of missionaries is urgent but cannot be done entirely by the missionaries.

I wonder if we are doing all we can?
Now, is the time. The way and means have been provided of we just do our part.

Most do not pray for opportunities cause they fear they will get them.

People do not understand what missionary work is.

Pray, and then watch for the opportunities. Your success lies on you exercising your agency to do the will of the Lord.

Many don't have the gospel because they haven't found it.

You must talk to more people every day... Just talk and you can be as blessed as the missionaries are. The key is to have the spirit and actually do the work vicariously for the Lord.

just stuff

Maybe I am waiting for you to discover something, like the test of Abraham giving his wife to the egyptian to live in that house it was seen as a lie to say it was his sister when it was his wife, maybe she needed to learn something only taught in that household.

If something prompts you, do not delay. "Be of one heart and one mind..." Husbands ask your wife if you want to know what she thinks, if you wish to know what you think, ask your wife. That is unity, being of one mind.

Dwelt in righteousness, depends on the priesthood, make our home a Zion.

There has been a change in the scripture mastery. To fit the new youth program, hastening the work.

If it was just this life and that's it my choice would be different, but I know that we are eternal beings, housed for a time in this world.

Brain dump (conference edition)

Of everything that is expected of you as a disciple of Jesus Christ, being a missionary is the most important.

It has been asked in the past and continues to he a way to contribute to donate as you can to the ward mission fund.

This is the conference of Jesus, whether by his voice or the voice of his servants, it is the same.

Conferences are a thing that has been instituted since Adam gathered his family together to teach them.

Conference messages are not assigned topics. But, study it out in your mind and the Lord inspires his servants. His talks are fit for all, each gets the word exactly, directly from the Lord to us. Even children can feel this.

When we take notes we record things that are impressed upon us, not necessairly verbatim what is being said.

We have been spared the opposition and persecution of the early saints, but the world is very speedily moving away from the gospel.

It is our saftey, wether we like what is said or not, to know that gates of Hell will not prevail against you.

The blessings come from taking the teachings and applying them in our home.

Continue to study out the words/teachings so that they can effect us.

People are blessed to head the words in their own language. Almost instantly available on the internet, so that the messages can be applied more easily.

The resources for youth may be viewed and used to reinforce the things taught to youth.

We can teach our children to be ready to do temple work and recieve ordinances.

If you pray to receive the Lords message to you, you will, undoubtedly.

Meekness is vital and not a weakness. Children are born with this, it is not learned, but can be brought out through emulation.

Must be patient and gentle in our homes especially.

Calm and temperate is more perfect. It is important to be Humble.

Humble are teachable. "lead them by the hand..."

Everyone has the ability to receive revelation.

Endowment is literally a gift of power.

Sealing is the goal and purpose of power.

Husband supports, but they still need preisthood power.

Power in the temple is important as the preisthood, example of how a child needs it as they prepare to serve a mission.

We all have weaknesses and must turn them into strengths.

Preisthood blessings can give the communication that our Father in Heaven has for us. We can have that same power as comes through our communion in the temple, and I might add that we feel it at conference as we listen to the spirit of God.

How can I get my children to value what is said and love and listen when Nick is over playing a game?

Do not look back, but look at all we have to do.

The past is to be learned from not lived in. Faith always points to the future.

Early saints did not know the future, but still looked forward fully trusting the promises of a bright future.

Story of big oxen. Seem the strongest, but not the best because the best is one not who can do the best known by the past, but who will do the best in the future.

1) significant but subtle blessings. Not always obvious or dramatic. This is how our blessings are.

Our perspective might very well be one of the blessings of tithing.
Like a peace of mind, the great example of this is the stripping wariors.

We pray for relief but instead we get more ability to endure.

119 & 120 are the basis for management of the funds of the church. So brief and uncomplicated opposed to the laws used by other governments and institution. Simplicity works cause

Do not spend more than we have.

Story of the man who dreamed of so many religions and then met up with a,couple who represented mormons.

We grant all a choice, they are never compelled to join in our worship.

There is a difference of opinion as to what the truth means.

"I suppose the church would be without faults if it's members were perfect."

It is sad that people have left because of the incorrectness of men.

Almost every member of the church questions or doubts serious issues.

Doubt your doubts.

Our diversity makes us strong.

We are all hypocrites, but come with all of the best souls and try once again to become perfect. Please join us.

Brain dump OT

Covenants are significant to understand.

PoGP helps us understand the OT. Abraham wanted blessings of his father.

Why is it called by certain names like Abrahamic Covenant, is named after him so he is honored with the name, but it really is Adamic... That is the Romantic side of the priesthood.

Idols are dumb. Terah was going to sacrifice his son to those idols. (See that people will do what they do not really want to because of popular opinion)

When Abraham was saved, and priests and alter were destroyed, the people were upset about that instead of marveling why it happened.

Story of 3 virtuous women, were not saved, they are examples because it is examplar how they endured. And life does not really end nor will it for them, and it will be so much better.

Sometimes the wicked is not rational so it can not be reasoned out.

Father to son imitated the priesthood.

Until Peter, not all men had priesthood.

Doctrine, obedience, and covenants and how it relates to women holding the priesthood.

We are equal to men and have been since Adam and Eve.

equality does not mean same.

We have all of the blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant through temple.

Women decide to want a thing like the sacrifice of Cain which was not accepted because it was not asked.

Write down your thoughts and feelings as you study.

But, that is how the media works, you have a moment in the spotlight, but where is Sinister Johnson now?

It was a cool story about Linda Burton gave a hug and it was more than just her. I wonder if my husband could ever be a proxy.

Abrahamic covenant - Abraham and his seed shall have the priesthood which is enabled by a sealing to a spouse. Anyone can accept the gospel, adoption is possible, early saints saw a literal change, it is said that the blood literally changes.

Trial of faith to wait until late in life to have any child, but (I bet they were so much wiser and their child was taught so much more, as they understood more)

Abraham is likened to the early chuch journeying.

Who knew that being beautiful was a bad thing. But, Sarah was very beautiful.

Sarah means princess and in another language means queen.

Men cannot ever be who they can without their wife.

Whatever God asks is the correct thing.

Abraham was being prepared for a similar task, this reminds me of Ephraim's Rescue where he us asked to shave.

Jehovah's is on your team, he's got your back.

Maybe his child was born so late to be instructed properly as his seed would produce the Savior.

Abraham was not following peer pressure but instead of doing the things others in Egypt. He was obedient.

Abraham is an example of a righteous rich person.

Control has to come from within. We cannot control even our homes any more with the internet.

Kids who always listen to your voice will one day not be with you.

Inheritence is not really about our things it is spiritual. Eternal perspective.

Abraham translated as laughed, but Martin Luther translated as rejoiced.

Tithing is a test of Faith. It was prayed to Melchezedic. What did he do with it?

Easier to get immediate reward or answers to our prayers. But Abraham and Sarah are an example to us of how things will happen just not in our time. The Lord tells him that he will have more children than the stars in the sky, so he could have that visual reminder constantly.

Why are covenants and ordinances so important to life: because if we honor them then we will fall in line.
Also, it is the thing that seperates us and helps us know things are true. I am reminded of the search of Willford Woodruff for Truth.

Cut our covenants, like bread cut like body, and water is spilled like the blood.

Being childless was a huge stigma, and it was acceptable to give a servant in proxy. law of Sarah, was not something Sarah thought of but a commandment.

Ishmael is a reminder that even if we are sorrowful and sad, maybe only our burdens will be made lighter not removed, like Hagar in the wilderness (Reminds me of wives in the wilderness in the Book of Mormon)

Getting a new name is significant of a promise.

Abraham - father something, look it up.

Circumcision is an outward symbol of an inward promise or necessary change.

Is anything too hard for the Lord? Do we believe this? Even when it goes against other things we profess...

What must I do to be saved?

The correct answer given today in institute was about as simple as keeping the commandments without creating a super list of to dos
As stated in the article of faith.
1) faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ
2) repentance.
3) baptism by immersion by the proper authority.
4) laying on of hands for bestowal of the Holy Ghost.
5) enduring to the end (which end was clarified as death)
Note that while there are many paths ( over 200 thousand currently ) only one on earth right now has the authority to perform the ordinances needed.
My Sunday school teacher explained it like this, if you are wanting a ticket to a specific event, you might get to that seat more than one way, but only one person is selling the actual tickets to their venue.
I believe that the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the one true venue. This church is not the only one professing needful truths,. but the only way to properly do 3 and 4, and maybe 2. I don't think you can really repent without a proper baptism. I'll stop now before I get side-tracked.

Spirit of the law?

I cannot say why this happens it seems the opposite of what you'd expect. I have noticed the huge divide that I used to see in Mississippi between the "Utah people" and the natives. They did not mix well. I see how things are very different here, mostly, I am comfortable, though my lawyer suggested I might not be,because they were all Mormons and I was Christian.

The trouble usually was Utah Mormons being upset because things were not done the Utah way. But, I find, myself upset because things in Utah are not done the right way. I have subsequently learned that my ways are called "orthodox". And I think that happens a lot when instruction comes from a rule book.

Anyway, I see that spirit of the law passed off on things that do not apply. For example, people wear inappropiate clothing in the chapel and Ithink it just shows lack of respect, which is the spirit of that law. It is broken because people only follow behavior they have seen, and then consider me a fanatic because it bothers me. I just would never feel right wearing street clothes, regardless the affair, in the chapel.

Like I said, maybe it is misunderstood on my end, too. Where there are more people there will be more of every sort. And maybe those in the mission field do not do things the same way they are done in Zion, but perhaps their different attempts are just that, not incorrect just as different as the place.

Brain dump

Changes last conference will better prepare our youth to run the world, no mission, or service is needed to teach them the wisdom that they will need.

Confession that he was not the first person, needed a dynamic carismatic, then needed humor, then noticed there were a lot of sisters so needed someone who was handsome, so they finally called him, and finally said yes.

Joseph had his hand in all books of scriptures.

Story about a checklist mentality, and his wife, how she hated conference because it added to the checklist.

A boy told him that it is pretty intellectually, but he just could not bear the growing checklist.

The doctrine is simple and that is why we rejoiced in Heaven. Instead of a growing list of commandments.

A big thing that distinguishes doctrines is the priesthood.

Adam was baptized by who? It is not in the IT, but it is in Pearl of Great Price.

How can a man be saved?
Easy 5 steps (requirements):

1 faith
2 repent
3 baptism
4 laying on of hands
5 Endure to the end

What are safe sources, what the bretheren, churches copyright is a comfortable way to be.

Trouble sometimes is what the listener recorded, but it was not actually said.

JST it is good to always note that as significant. But, it is not entirely noted in footnotes.

Abominable church includes all doctrines that lead away from Christ.

How does Moses know these things? Chapter 1 revelation given to,Moses. He talked to God face to face.
