Murky water

I wanted to share a quote, but unlike those who could remember much later the exact words that were said, my brain takes a shorthand version, and gives me more or less, the impressions. When left to oneself water becomes murky. What I mean by that is that sorta like the puget sound has a inlet so that the water does not become stagnent, but instead is just well, I cannot remember what we called it in SCUBA class but it means murky or low visibility. We need a constant flow of clean water because we are all sinners and a tiny misdimeanor will slip in polluting the water, like that little piece of candy you ate that was not ascribed to your diet. Or as one of my sons used and object lesson of a piece of yarn, single stranded it cannot do much, but wound around my knees several times? I cannot walk.
I have noticed a trend in others lives, which we all tend to do, it sorta keeps us from getting too self centered, right? :) anyway, I know a scripture D&C 82:10 "I the Lord am Bound when Ye do what I say..." It can be recalled to fit many situations, but right now I am using it to explain Exact Obedience. Everything the Lord promises is conditional. We cannot obey in part and expect him to bless in full. But, (pardon another scripture popped into mind) "To be learned is good if we harken unto God..."too often though that good thing, becomesa piece of yarn that trips us. When we get so much wisdom we start to think it is of ourselves and we forget the source or maybe the water gets too murky and we actually think that we thought everything worthwhile anyway, and perhaps we know better.

I say again, if left to oneself, our very water becomes murky.
