Brain dump

I do not have much because we needed to come home because We are too sick.

I keep smelling bananas. Which was what I smelled right before my brain surgery.

No one should be content with a casual familiarity of the atonement.

The more study the Savior the more we will become like him.

The purpose of the atONEment is to become one with God.

(This is the sort of thing that delighted me about the argument given by Sealy Booth regarding love)

Everything we face is for our experience, and there is no thing that we can suffer that our Savior had not already.

Gesthemene was a greater sacrifice, one that no man has endured. Many have endured crucifixion, but only one has endured as our savior.

We get peace when we cease to sin...or "sin no more..."

Grace, freedom and other gifts of peace and things the spirit may grant us.

Satan is strongest when we are weakest.

Prayer is the most important thing in this life.

To be familiar with the voice of God when you hear it, read your scriptures.

It will allow you to increase the peace of the whole world.

We might feel more aware of the negative aspects of mortality.

Refreshed of 4 tools to exercise our faith.
1) pray
2) scripture study
3) FHE
4) Temple Attendance

As part of the privilegde of prayer. Not only speak and ask, but listen.

We will never be forced to pray.

Prayer is essential for next stage of life, (Alanis Morrisette. I am aware now)

Behavior is better when we have FHE.

Remember the humble beginings that our savior had and look what influence one man had. I wonder if he knew that just saying that to be humble was good he would make it desirable.

He was teaching in the temple at age 12. He was always our example. He was tutored by God. Everything mentioned plays a part in who he became.

So likewise, we need to be doing good things like reading our scriptures etc.

Each man has his day. And Lehi's will be eternal as is recorded in 2 Nephi 1:15

Do you have a testimony that you will live forever.

Grinch and Scrooge are epitomy of redemption and example of how the gospel is intended.

The story of Alma the younger and I remember how Joe kept asking me for repentance after hearing this story. And told me that I need to tell him it is alright.

Do you trust God?

We come to earth:
Get a body
Excerise faith
Agency
Die

Black marks kept by angels and then was erased with the atonement.

Recordings of books,  of our person, in a book. Ordinances need to be recorded.

Some people have such incredible perspectives, I just want to hear what they have to say regarding.

Christmas cards are good to read all of the time read them and see all of the good things.

We have a talent show.

Children love nativity scenes.

As we wait for Christmas do we feel anxious. The kids certainly do, we might feel that way.

She believes fully that people will be loving to eachother.

Story about boy praying for lights and he read a story about how a lost Eskimo found his way home by lights and then he was woken up by a bright star outside his window and he just laid there and said "Thank You."

Faith, Hope, Charity all rely on eachother, like sides of a triangle.

When you serve others you develop charity.

Think first of others.

I am impressed to share a song I wrote and she asked, but still it is fear of wasting others time, it seems rude. So, I will remain quiet.

What do we do to share the gift?

That is a lot like Merry Christmas.

Movie called Capital C about removing Christ from Christmas. Out of fear of offending others, the thing we might say might be the very thing we someone needs to hear and so the devil is trying his hardest to convince us not to speak our mind.

It hurts to be a Mormon - a reccomended video.

The Lord suffered so that he would be entrely able to succor his children.

In Church we learn how to better serve those who need it from Jesus Christ himself.

Story about children who did not even know who Jesus Christ was.

A woman was happiest ever met because her parents taught her about the Lord and she recognized his mannerisms and quickly accepted Joseph Smith because she said that was how he worked, like Daniel.

As a missionary others liked to unload and one guy was contentios and asked why he believed and he had nothing to say.

Never the less...thy will be done.

Billions will be born durng the millenium.

Millenial Messiah. How does he get those answers to share with us.

We need to have oppostion. That is how we are given to cope, but when Satan is bound and children raised without that sort of opposition.

When the earth is burned, we need to use our fire insurance, so that we can go to a temple to avoid this calamity.

Tithing is fire insurance, or else you will be burned at his comming.

Malachi 4 (I was accidentally reading Micah)

Pride will not be away and in the Book of Mormon is a pride cycle.

The ten were invited and made aware of the marriage feast but only half were prepared.

"Are only the people who sit at the big table going to get turkey?"

We all want to be there!

Not trying to stuff rhetoric down other's but share what we have.

It's just not in my schedule to have the second comming.

There are preceeding signs.
Lowering of standards, and other things.
Things seem to be unchanged in the world so we see the signs, but just assume that is just how it is.

Parable of the wheat and tares.

He is going to return wether or not we are ready.

We have been warned fully.

***Need to teach children to recognize spirit.*** (no matter how it comes) but to teach a thing one must master it first.

It is our duty to prepare for the wedding feast.

Preaching is not enough.

(If it is my charge to prepare the rising generation what am I doing towards that end?)

That is something to think about that temples will be open 24/7. It is commonly tossed around in conversation and accepted as popular knowledge. But, we are also told to go to bed early, is it that all fades away because the Lord will be there and he trumps things. A game changer.

The painting from the millenial return it was painted by non LDS but it is over a desert.

18th our ward invited to live nativity at Stake Center.

So often, it is not the teaching or quantity of attendance a few can attend, but it is because they bring their faith that the whole place is filled.

Regardless of the beauty of the temple, the beauty of his wife far exceeded it.

Children are actually learning to be like Jesus.

A woman struggles often in pain but still comes to church and is a great example.

The Lord's plan isn't often our plan.

Where are the miracles today? They are all over the place, just not always as obvious as scientific laws.

Joseph Smith was a very flawed man, but was chosen to represent the Lord.

Love is the obvious catalyst.

Service is the best way to spend Saturday.

Love is what fuel of the season.

When you know what the right thing to do is, do not hesitate. It may be difficult.

When the spirit touches us, we need to speak our mind.

Keeping Sabbath Holy he talked to stake president and he asked "how can we help you?" That touched him.

The leaders of the Young Women work so hard and it shines through the young women themselves. May we all have that effect.

Sealing power, prompt to have a couple be her parents, but they are inactive but, still not to worry about that,  but as we work towards an goal, others blessings come.

Her answer was just move on.

Heavenly Father close her eyes without seeing her grand children.
She struggled with how to get them to spend time together. One of those grandchildren got to do baptism in the temple for her.

When a baby is born it gives a testimony of our pre existance.

Accepting the teachings and live them to prepare for the return of our Savior.

1) stand in Holy places.
2) Priority checklist

If you don't have 10 minutes to pray in the morning pray an hour.
Priorities.

Put things in perspective. When we struggle.

People with most responsibility tend to do the most because they got their priorities.

In adversity our reflex is usually wrong.

Make sure you stand in Holy Places.

Having an abundance mindset.

"Dad said sense of humor was best medicine. I guess that's why so many of us died of tuberculosis"

7 My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;
8 And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.
9 Thy friends do stand by thee, and they shall hail thee again with warm hearts and friendly hands.

You benefit from going through hard times.

So many lessons can be learned through team sports, like winning and loosing and how it effects you but, most poignant is the role of a coach likened to God.

We need time outs and warm ups.

No matter if we were born into it is hard to develop the ability to provide, but we need it because,we need agency and the power to act, if we are able to provide for ourselves it allows us a freedom.

Taking responsibilty is necessary for agency.

Spiritual debt is often online with temporal debts and when we put the Lord first as we promise to in the temple then we witness miracles and are able to see how sacrificing personal wants helps us reach new goals.

Youth are studying necessity to develop temporal and spiritual self reliance.

When you serve mission in third world country you see that temporal self reliance, though very evident and important it is not founded in wealth, but more in gaining spiritual self reliance.

If we keep our covenants we can have the confidence in our choice of the better part and we can even expect that the very Heaven's will be shaken for our good.

We gain our freedom gradually through repentance

Signs of the second coming.-

1) Apostasy - end of the prophets
2) Restoration
3) Book of Mormon  is wrote.Fufilled as it was two sticks in thy hand.
4) Gospel preached
5) Coming of Elijah - Genealogy a priesthood being given.

People do not love oneanother. *I* phone.

People will decieve you, but do not be troubled, he will return and unite everyone.

Promises will be fufilled.

Things that happen as a result of that spirit causes conversation that inturn lead to preacing of the Gospel.

The acceptance of the two scriptures will bring peace. World peace, isn't that a sign of the second coming.

what would it have meant to preach to the whole world? And it was much bigger than they realized it was so much bigger., could it perhaps be that way now.

Layton has 13 stakes!!!

Pakistan it seems impossible that missionaries will teach there, the Gospel will be taught in his own tongue.

Fear of the Lord is more being reverent than being afraid, my good friend asked me why we should fear God, when we are always told to love him.

The signs are there.

You might feel stuck, but it will happen.

Prophets tell us to be prepared, temporally and spiritually. We need to be ready for the Lord's return.

December 9 7pm. RS Meeting

Which way do you face?
70 doesn't represent the people to the prophet, but the prophet to the people.

We represent the church to the people but find ourselves instead remind the church of the people and their common opinions (because they are easier).

Face tents to the temple, like in BoM. That was the first comment made. That they, when asked, would answer that they face the Lord.

Joseph Smith would have liked to have someone to help testify against all peers when he went against what he was told no when asked to show plates to Martin.

Reminds me of the thing Natalie said about Moribund standing alone...

The way people dress is outwardway we appear to be making a definately choice.

Not allowed a nativity scene because it offends others like X mas

Minority - we do not really even know what the minority is.

Religion has been persecuted by Satan. It makes him mad to see the good go forward.

In the scriptures those who face the right way are bold and declare love.

The guilty want companions. Instead of self Improvement.

Dumbing Down the gospel is evident in the retranslations of the Bible.

Other churches accept things that the people want instead of what is. Lowering standards cannot be allowed.

The world wants to change what a family is by many means like gay marriage and women with priesthood, we must be watchful and conciously aware of which way we face.

Jesus was aware of which way he faced, he was indistinguishable from his father.

Put scripture of choosing the Lord and a story of a woman who was lost and sought direction there because it was posted, she felt safe there.

Go to the temple to offend the temple, put it to use.

Screwtape, Satan is delighted when we chose and easier path rather than the right one. He will give us the things we naturally want.

No man can serve two masters if you are torn then make a choice and go with it.

Dark and lonliness.

So we know what is right by the result, if it is desirable?

The difference is that we get the desired result of happiness and love AFTER we work, it is a reward we do not seek out desert for nourishment.

It was prayed that each member of the stake have a missionary experience.

Woman had more children, adopted them and had then was sealed to them on October 7th.

We were together and set goals in the previous existance, although we do not remember it.

Even if you think your work has been done you will be suprised what work you find that needs to be done.

Became friends with someone in Sweden to help get information and permission.

Didn't know how to pronounce a thing, so she look up how to say it but found a clip where Elder Uchtdorf  was the only one to model it off.

Polar Bears were a type of how to protect.

Her husband was asked "How was my talk?" He asked, can you add any statistics.

She made a statistic about how often the word covenant is used recently opposed to earlier.

He moved here and was told to beware of the Mormons.

But,he was religous and the religion just made sense and felt right.

He had no intention of getting married yet, but he recieved a testimony of temple marraige to a girl he had been dating.

Overseas his fear was not for his death, but that he would not be sealed to her.

I give Satan the credit for that depression.

Asked kids what it meant for them to know they were sealed as a family, a reply, "Ehh."

Do not share too much of expreriece because it is so sacred.

One sure thing regarding preparing to go to the temple is an adversary. It is like Joseph Smith's documented struggle.

Don't write yourself off because you are being overcome with evil, that actually we should be expecting this. Think of the prophet and the proporiontal amount of Good he does.

Live nativity scene in December for the open house.

If you get a text from the stake presidency, don't read it, or you'll end up like me (spoken from the pulpit).

Learn to become a member missonary work on thursdays in the RS room.

Hastening of the work requires that we look inside ourselves...

Do we really believe the things we sing about? Think about that. - Pres. Rutter

Days get shorter, less light and people get depressed, as days get shorter, we put up more lights.

Light and darkness cannot occupy the same place.

You do not need to go to Jerusalem to walk where the Lord walked,

God is in his holy temple. Light houses.

Parable of 10 virgins. How sad is it to be clean and able, but not able to go meet the Lord when he returns.

More than just getting by, we need more oil to refuel our lamps.

All of the virgins were worthy as are we to have be doing.

In our testimony meetings we need them to be founded on Jesus Christ.

Memorize the Living Christ.

Recommend is a symbol of desire to be with God.

Door keeper must recognize voice names can be stolen and immitated.

Family prayer is non negotiable, in order to arm our children sufficiently to withstand Corey darts of the adversary.

Satan has effectively won if he keeps us from having family prayer!!

Organize your priorities to place Heavenly Father first in our lives. That means pray as a family.

If we want to recognize the Lord we need to arm them by daily scripture study. It is stronger than a sword even.

Moribund testified of the power of the scriptures when battling, it is most powerful.

President Bensen promises the blessings of reading Book of Mormon daily, other things will fall into place.

Family Home Evening needs to be regular and unequivocal.

Example of Mothers influence is seen in story about Stripling Wariors.
Example of Fathers influence is found in story about Emission.

How can you know those things? By the voice of his servants.

Our family that we desire to protect will bring us to the temple. It is sort of a cycle, as we do what is good it will draw us to our families and our families will draw us to the temple.

Sat night conference.

Opening hymn Turn your Hearts

Prayer- rededicate ourselves, like the temple.

Family history is like fishing, on a good day we caught something, which the greatest catch is likened to uniting families. Best opportunity or fishing place is at the family history center.

Former stake president has not been taking it easy, he has been working harder than ever now. Hastening the work.

Family history center we can find things even if our ancestors have all had their work done.

"You hit the jackpot! When they found "green" names or opportunities.

When a challange is issued by leader and followed producing necessary miracles, that is amazing!
A lot like Nephi saying "Go and do..."

Just came from a car crash and thought, well, I hope that is not indicative of how tonight will go.

As we serve spiritual attributes increase and sort of crowd out temporal attributes and attitudes.

Growth of chuch is evidence of hastening of the work.

Why is it happening? Not just beauty of the buildings and technology, but we are born at this time to help the work along. His work is eternal and not just earthly.

We all need to DO our part. It is no longer even possible to say "we can't it is too hard."

No one can become an expert without being a novice for a while.

With about a .million coming in each day, so now there are more people that you may never have known of. Each week, more new people.

Shared a personal story of one who is dear. We will be able to find those who we know well.

Find a few green people and, print list and take to temple and print out cards.

Just went to a neighbor and asked to help them and in a few key strokes they found  4 families to do (over 20 ordinances).

Enter on the west. Easy to find down Gentile, but road forks a red church (Past Smith's).

Looking to build a Family history center on Gordon. We'll see.

We are running out of time.

The Lord actually ok'ed killing a man just so that they might have their genealogy to take with them. It was that important. It is important to know who you are.

Your family will appreciate it. "Raise your hand in committment", while standing.

Seen miracles working for 14 years in family history center. Initially, it was nearly impossible to take a name to the temple, now almost anyone can do it. Part of hastening of the work, this is a sign of the second coming.

We have a responsibility to go and do.

The signal has,never changed.

So, we need a clear picture and sound from the Lord. We have the Holy Ghost, and scriptures. We need to be in the right place.

Son's comment about two eyes to have depth perspective...

***talked about getting a sure signal and what we do about it.***

Story of Jonah who was given a difficult assignment. Jonah faced not the Lord. Flee has footnote of procrastination.

How did Jonah know that is where God told him to go?

"Are you sleeping through conference." "What thinkest thou, sleeper?" Johnah (likewise tried to sleep through significant event) does not jump but asks to be thrown. Cause he knew what was going on with that storm.

People listened and repented, this was what the Lord knew and so he had sent Jonah. So God was so much wiser than man. "They turned away from their ways..." Chapter 4.

We must be strong enough to do what asked because he has a reason. Like Nephi building a boat when he knew nothing according to the things man knows regarding building a boat.

Make work that you do personal. It is not some corporate strategy where it is often flaunted " It is nothing personal, it is business". Line from movie "You've Got Mail."

We need to be like temple workers, willing to help others, and always have a smile on face.

God's way looks small to the world.

Lord can help when we need it.

Expect blessings when you do the will of the Lord.

There are no coincidences.

Interesting thay Asian area presidency told of members from all of the lineages of the ten tribes, were in them.

People from the same bloodline and family end up in different lineages.

The other tribes what do they do?

"president Monson has had revelations. He can do that."

Spiritual gathering and a physical gathering. We were told to stay home.

New Jerusalem - Jackson, Mo. Ephraim and Menasseh.

A huge gathering is done through our temple work, we are able offer the gospel to our kindred dead.

Best gathering is in our families.

Blessings shall be given to the Northern kingdom, through the tribe of Ephraim.

Love that scene in 17 miracles where it says that never have at any time had the poorest of the poor been gathered with the rich" it is this sort of "gathering" where people are united with similar dispositions. Reminds me of the talk by Pres. Eyring about how he felt like he was prompted to be gathered to this area of the world.

I think peace is a cause of joy. Meaning, it turns a mere happiness into something greater.

Christmas is a pattern for FHE

This morning as I was trying to gather my thoughts for FHE to suit them for the children's efforts, like last week Joseph wanted to play Hide and seek so we had a lesson on listening and played a segue game of finding a hidden object. so anyway, the kids were watching a Christmas unboxing video so my mind had to jump ships for a moment to seem interested in what they were doing. The Adult on the video asked the kids what Christmas was celebrated for and that triggered the thought about FHE.

The kids absolutely love Christmas and although it is anticipation of the gifts, and goodies. They, through those things eventually learn to become Christ focused, and that is the same thing with FHE. The kids look forward to it so much and although I do not feel like the real purpose ever even crosses their mind it is the day we get together and they get to have a treat that they pick and play a game together as a family. They love it.

And although, I am tempted to give up or give in to changing it to just family fun night. The lessons are important, maybe it is like Mary Poppin's spoonful of sugar. The fact is the kids are getting their needed medicine in a way they like, like kid's flavored medicine. I bet that is where the term "candy coated" came from. FHE is not going to be just candy,  like Christmas is not just about it's trimmings.

a cool comment

Though generally speaking, regurgitated things loose most of their value once consumed and then spit back up, but in the case of wisdom, if it is true, value might only be added after digested and shared.

That having been said the thing I heard verbatim was witty and share worthy.

"Stop being the victim and become the victor."

This thought came from studying the example  Ishmael.

Story time

This story was pretty cool and I wanted to type it out in case I forget it.

I was on the BYC representing our little branch in Ellijay, GA in the Chattanooga Stake. as such I was familiar enough with our Stake President that what happened should not have surprised me. there  I was minding my own business at youth conference opening exercises when Pres. Phill Smart announced that now we would be hearing from Melissa Babcock on why she would not date outside the church. I had honestly not decided any such thing yet, especially since I was not even old enough to date anyone, plus the only "members" my age that were date worthy were my brothers. But, to my surprise, I emphatically explained why I fully believed in what seemed such a limiting practice. and then, at that point realized that such a choice had been publically cemented now.

Fast forward to turning 16. my birthday fell on General Conference. We all remember our 16th birthday, mine was likely for a different reason.

So, now I could date and go to the prom! but, that was just a sacrifice I would be forced to make because it honestly looked like for me that was not an option. then, something magical happened, we moved to Indiana and a boy I really liked and was LDS asked me to the prom. Likely his mother, who was my YW leader, made him do it, but I didn't care!

I actually did not believe it was actually happening. I used to write in a code to my best friend Rachel who did not at all understand my fascination wrote this to me "The single most important thing in any Latter-day Saint's life is to be with the right person in the right place at the right time." It was indelibly imprinted on my mind from that day forward.

Fast forward now to me living in Washington in my late 20's just having my heart broken by a boy who joined the church then promptly left it leaving me all alone, I did have an idea of what I wanted and I had decided that one boy was not for me. Afterall, he was divorced!!! I had actually had to interviews at a place he worked at the time (in Provo, UT). He was curently married and not at all my type. In fact, I made a list and he was several things I had decided firmly against.

But, many miraculous things happened, and we were married and sealed in Nashville, TN.
Then, my beautiful daughters were born and my husband and I had stake callings and so we were needed to arrive early for stake conference, now, who would be attending, but Phill Smart who was on a building committee for our area and was visiting. So, I got to go talk to hm and thank him for his inspired choice too have me speak on dating in my faith at such a crucial time and I was now happily married with children.

ok, so I was blindsided with divorce, but, I choose to think of it as fateful yet, who knows what could sneak up and happen in life. which is a very hopeful thought and one that regardless of professed religion keeps me full of hope. Plus, we need resistance in our lives to build the strength that can be built only through overcoming trials.

OT brain dump

Mormon beliefs are justifiable.

Class was canceled due to funeral but usually uses that class the practice.

Read book by Jeffrey R. Holland "Christ and the New Covenant"

I was thinking a similar thing about the Book of Mormon ought to be well loved by Christians if they ever read it regardless of who supposedly wrote it.

Message of Nahum - like Ninevah, remember that repentance should last longer. It was destroyed.

People even say it never existed. And it's greatness was exaggerated.

Assyria and Babylon - make up present day Iraq.

Story of Manasseh is hard to believe. He was wicked and it says he repented in 2Kings.

Josiah became king when he was 8. As cleaning things out he finds scripture and .loves it and shares it with others and earns a blessing for it.

In war the people had to decide to with side with the people or the prophet to figure out who to side with Egypt or Babylon. They liked the sins of Egypt more.

Only 2 good kings, probably why we give power associated with Kings a bad wrap.

Hezekiah and Josiah. Josiah is the one who relied on scriptures because he needed advice.

Even our "proclamation" supposed to be authority of it's own from God, uses scripture references.

Refuted mulek, and it is impossible for a 34 yr old to have had a 20 yr old son.

Ordinance Scott Card would not give in to the worldly preferances on like say same sex marriage. This is commendable because it shows a belief that is firm enough to withstand ridicule.

If you seek information ask the one himself. Pray to Jesus, how is praying to the correct Jesus different? If that can be answered substantially it will tell what to believe.

How to become more Christlike.

Elder Holland's talk service is the key.

We serve because we are told to, it is in the scriptures. "If Ye love me..."

Some of the most meaningful service is simple, and often in our own families.

People feel the Savior's love when are sered.

We all need help, and are beggers, so should we not do likewise. King Benjamin taught that we should serve one another and was a great example of it.

Questionaire on how well we are achieve our Christlike attributes.
Answers are ranging 1 - 5 Never to Always.

President Monson's talk on being Christlike.  Included stories of was that people have opportunities to show love to others.

When it seems difficult to express our love remember children and how freely they love, and we are all Children of God.

When we get critical it is important to remember that our Heavenly Father Loves us.

gospel is like a performance do jot get caught up in our mistakes, and remember that ait requires a lot of work and does not just happen.

Music is very dear as it expresses the feeling of the heart, so as we sing about a thing we can understand as if we were there or felt such. But, we need not walk where Jesus walked to become like him.

Of all that is felt or taught of Jesus Christ the most common and important is Love.

We all have divinity inside us because we are children of God.

In object lesson of River we need to remember what happens when we become apathetic.

If we are a little better every day, so older people must be nearly perfect by now, then, huh?

Choose to accept descipline.

Serving the youth keeps us young.

It is important to know that marriage is ordained of God, between man and woman, significant because of gender confusion.

It is ordained because it is necessary.

Adam married/sealed before he could die.

How does the Lord's view differ from ours.

Marraige differs from the world in the definition of success.

Eternal marriage is a covenant.

If you can forgive, which is necessary, then restablish the covenant. If Ye felt so then can Ye do so now?

Sometimes we give up on promises, but if it is blessed it will happen.

You get a blessing and a witness after we live a covenant. eternal marriage is no different.

I remember John saying how impressive it was to him, he wanted to tell his friends because he did not realize it beforehand. But, there was a thing that could not be  expressed in words that hit him as all important.

Sealer only authority to seal in one location.

Testimony shared of one who recently felt the power .

You will look back at your sealing all eternity.

Try to bring and bring family and if you know someone to bring.

Choir practice at 2:30

Kindness - is a concious.. being kind is being the same with everyone.

To me kindness is beauty.

Kill with kindness forces us to say the same thing in a different way.

Being true to people is part of being kind.

Others might not be having a bad day cause they are not kind, they just might not be like you.

Very personal things are said that ought not be shared.

Kids do notice the little things and pictures in our home.

In church we see the pictures in the church are photos of the Savior.

Bishop doesn't make the greatest chicken, doesn't matter.

Brain dump

No matter how busy we are we need not cease the basics, things like scripture study, prayer, and FHE are the necessary things the things that prepare us for eternal life.

So much blame on the church, but those who seek out with a spirit of love feel the things that are taught are true, and the words taught inspire and feel the need to change.

2nd comming, we do not need to fear really, if we are ready, and our sins can be forgiven and should do whatever is necessary to,be able to withstand his comming.

MTC sent message saying "son arrived safely"

Prayers for son, he is a mission leader, 2nd week. But, his companion hit him and told him that he is too stupid, to be a leader of any sort.

I cannot repay you, but If I can pray for you, and he blesses you, it will be enough.

Lord is mindful of each of us, and if we try to do what he wants, then we will be blessed and be ready to meet him.

FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES -

Family is central to God's plan. It truly is vital to learn about.

Teaching is both parents duty.

Woman fell in love with a child but it was not her blood parent. But, natural wants it back. There is a difference between mom and vessel to give life, or birth parent.

Discipline, love. Physical needs, social needs, child's wants before yours., example.

Should we be quiet and let you read the lesson.

**** It's the times when you are not teaching your kids you are teaching them.

The principle of not actually teaching, or doing  a thing teaches the most the best example was how more is taught during a expression of love than was ever said.

This is related to politics it doesn't mean anything if the economy is not doing it's job. A president said that it is all about the Economy.

Man is the head but woman is the neck.

Delegate is a part of president, means you give wings to the wife.

President is part of preside.

***When did it become mom's duty to do FHE?

Ex husband paid her to come make a house a home. Although, it is likely more a spiritual thing, but has elements in decoration.

When we hear others pray for eachother, we know that we are loved, gives moral support.

Men and women have different perspectives.

Way ward children need agency and the time ends when you influence them. We need to love them. Children need to feel safe and love them, days of badgering them is over.

It is devestating to parents when a child walks away from the way they were trained.

God doesn't mope all day about those who go astray, because he has eternal perspective.

If parents are always doing what we should the promise is made that that child will be alright. We need not worry. Each child is blessed.

Lehi never quit counseling even if it is ignored. Alma and how he parented Corianton.

This week is the mtg. For enrichment 7pm in the gym Tuesday.

Be in the world but, not belong to it. Like in conference, we need to be consistant and represent the Lord not the world to the Lord.

We must teach our children that if we stand for what we live for, be bold, but kind and soft spoken and not shove it in the face of others.

Story of a girl and all she did was sort of shake her head about the conversation of the older kids. They assumed she was "one of those Mormons" and she never denied it and was hit and her glasses were broken.

Let others know what you believe they will support you.

Do nothing to extremes!

Clean language is evidence of a wiseman.

The spirit prompts us toward the best behavior, so to do right, we need to invite that prompting.

Fashions of the World change but the Lord doesn't.

Being chaste means that we need to be completely committed to our spouse.

It made a huge impression to me when Tal Bachman was met by Casey Casem and he commented how nice he looked and it was refreshing because he did not have a tatoo and he said something along the lines of Please, never get a tatoo. That made me want to go instantly remove all of my extra earrings. Because, I wanted to be like him.... Ha ha ha sorry to interject here, but it reminds me of the song that played as soon as we walked in to the Deseret Industries this week. It was by Michelle Branch.

Lesson was on letting our light shine.

Example set for us that Moroni is on the temple. He was really alone. Shining brightly for all to see.

Sister Monks song! She basically explained how one writes a song...

Conference notes

Talk by pres Eyring.

Revelation types that people are searching for.

Lehi's dream was seen as mental confusion. Nephi needed confirmation. He didn't say that he would go do what his dad said, but prayed to know on his own. This made his dad happy.

Story of sneaking in late but his mother

My son told me that he wanted to draw a heart on Elder Nelson's photo.

I loved his story about how his expert advice was that Spencer Kimball not have a surgery, but Spencer's church leaders said it should be done. And he sustained his leaders with his life and chose to have heart surgery.

1st conselor of young women told the story of the woman who fed Elijah and likened it to the hard things the prophet tells us, but it can save our lives.

To know God and Jesus is part of the greatest gift available to man.

elder Hales bears his strong testimony that he knows things and read that knowing anything is a gift from God, he read a scripture explaining such.

Seeking personal revelation is important.

This is my beloved SON. Interesting thing for God to say, both because it explains the God head and our family structure...

Bread then water is not a coincidence.

Question is not if we will live again, but who we will live with.

Recommit ourselves when we take the sacrament and recieve his spirit to help us.

It is not as important to follow the physical footsteps of Jesus, but to emulate his way of life no matter where we may be.

All of his parables teach us the best ways to live.

"Ponder the path of thy feet..." Paul as quoted by our prophet.

Elder Ballard
Stay in the boat! Above everything else. This is a good metaphor for our journey of life.

President Young said that if you jump off you will drown "old ship Zion. God is at the helm"

Leaders can not and will not lead astray. If you do not heed the words the guides speak, you will be lost. Consequences will follow and may be long term and unintended.

Church leaders are not out of touch, living in a bubble, they are wise and diverse, and live in a very unnatural bubble, but not the one thought of when used as a tossed label by accusatory sorts.

Church as a place of nourishment and when we leave it, where will we get nourishment?

"Feast on the words of Christ..."

If you leave the ship, we will seek you out and try to minister to you so that you can come back.

Richard G. Scott
Heavenly Father wants to hear about everything, even the mundane things in our lives.

Safegaurd our children with family prayer.

Prayer is more important than anything else in our lifes.

You will contribute a lot of peace if you regularly pray and read your scriptures.

The more we do the things to bring peace into our lives the more Satan will seek to destroy us, but his power to harm us will decrease.

A choice that is good can cause misery in our lives because it is not best, and no matter how good pr better only the best is right, so ultimately, the wrong choices cause us misery in long term.

Phrophets who should be our examples. Their choices were not good, but they were worth it. Our examples include, Lehi, Moses, and Joseph Smith.

Do not get distracted by other things.

Spiritual passport required to go where we want.

The church can assist, but it is ultimately going to be us that does what is necessary.

Apostles and Leaders did not make the commandments, God did.

First, observe, then serve. Sometimes, the way we serve are not even wanted or seen as service.

Be like the good samaritan, the best way is not just to pray, but answer the prayer sometimes, with the help of revelation.

We become Saviors when we serve our dead with revelation.

It is better to seek refuge in what is a known solution, and yet Joseph Smith thought to ask God himself.

Elder Bednar
Story of two sons who were watched and allowed to act for themselves demonstrated how we ignorantly cause pain in trying to do what we think best and are acting out of a brotherly love for others.

We don't get a reward for sharing what we believe nor do we aim to increase our membership or are encouraged to do so. We do not knock on doors to sell anything. Though we solicit a contrite heart and a searching spirit.

Come and see.

Conference notes

Story of a woman who was angry and thought, "Someone is going to pay for this", a slient answer responded, "Someone already has".

Who do you represent? It is important to always face the right way.

We must realize we are accountable to God not others,

Queen Esther had courage and faced God instead of her wicked spouse.

Perfect love casteth out fear.

Accepting a new tradition instead of commandments, like lowering standards to fit the people. Doing such is apostasy.

Jesus was so devoted to facing his father that he became indistinguishable from him. It us our choices that defines who we are.

YW ask what she wish that she had known as a young woman.

Atonement enables us to do more than we normally could.

Things are true if you believe them.

Pres. Uchtdorf said that he was asked if he would speak in German. He said, No, but it will sound like it.

The universe did not change, but our ability to percieve and comprehend them does.

Some might use facts or reason to not believe things that are common place in our world today compared to the way it was for them.

God answers our prayers in a way for us to understand like thoughts, feelings, dreams, etc.

To pray and get an answer you must sincerely and ponderfully read scripture.

Strive to believe in prophets.

Ask to manifest truth unto you.

Do God's will. Live it to test it and you will get your testimony. Which is the most important thing to gain.

Natural man thinks spiritual things are foolish. You will not even notice it let alone be able to appreciate it.

Our previous knowledge can even seem foolishness to us.

***How can we communicate with those who cannot even comprehend the core of what is is?***

Gradually, things will come into focus and bless your life in so many ways!

Your testimony must be this tall to enter church.

Consulting people who are anti Mormon would be like consulting Judas to find out more about Jesus Christ.

He used the oxygen mask to explain how we cannot help others unless we are safe ourselves. I often use that.

Listen to a recording of Joseph Smith's testimony in your own voice. It will strengthen your testimony.

Teach the power of prayer not just the routine of prayer.

Story of Mother asked her son if he had prayed for a wife, well, maybe he should cause it is the most important thing.

Would a soldier go to the battle without being protected so mother's ought to not let their children go into the world without protection.

***the more sincere desires are checked by Satan**** who seeks to convince us that redeption OS impossible. Stop making excuses! Strive to be responsible an take care of what you can. If you can do something about anything, do it.

You cannot love God unless you keep his commandments. We cannot pick and choose.

Live the best you can inspire of circumstances.

Do not expect anyone to cheer about your choices or successes to become a better apostle.

Trials are allowed to come into our lives when we are suceeding.

The woman who touched the Lord's garment hem had to put forth the effort to do so in order to recieve the healing blessing.

The spoil of the needy is in your houses. Woah! I love that.

She hath done what she could.

Christianity is not about statistics.

We need to help those who beg us, if we hope to ever be able to he worthy of the suplications and things we beg to God for.

Do what we can.

Who could put a price tag on the worth of a woman who is a faithful mother or grandmother. Their influence in the home is likely the strongest mortal power.

L. Tom Perry, never has there been a greater need for faithful and stalwart parents.

Pay attention

I had been so decieved thinking beauty was how you looked because all of the photos I had seen of successful people.

But, the photos were only misleading. Those people may look just like us but that is not what makes them beautiful.

I have seen people who were captivatingly beautiful, but did not have a shape that matched the formula for beauty. It confused me, so I figured there was another secret, and supposed it was being kind. Close.

Beauty comes when we stop putting all of our effort in how we look and focus instead on who we are. We need to pay attention to developing our talents, or divine natures until they are undeniably beautiful.

It is who we can be that makes us beautiful not necessarily how we look right now, although a certain type that gets attention for their physical appearance are becoming the person that lived in embryo inside them, looking LIKE them will never make us them cause we are still us and need to work on being that.

Brain dump

Are you sleeping through the restoration?

Many reasons, selfish.

Some little acts of caring and kindness make a huge differece.

What am I not doing that I should be doing? or vice versa.

Balance of service and being served. It is harder to be service.

Mission was like a bubble that wad hard to leave. It was Zion where people were of one heart and mind.

We learn that most important or needed things are not numerous... Basically, just our families, included our ward family.

Brigham Young was most worried that the saints would become affluent and fall. (Like nephites)

Story of woman and chance to explain baptism for the dead and that those people were not on the records of our church. That mis conception was lost.

If you wonder if God visited Joseph Smith, ask him. He was there.

Our spouses deserve the best.

Anxious for the 2nd comming.

Too many distractions in life, but mission is possible for everyone, and in mission we get to refocus on what matters.

Even in church service we can get distracted.

80% of Navoo visitors are LDS.

Gardening is enjoyable as a missionary you get to plant many seeds.

Our most prized possesion is our testimony. And so that is one of the best gifts we can nurture in others.

Sunday School - when we are away from our family it clarifies what is important to us.

Like in times of war, we have comfort in knowing family is eternal.

Of all titles those of "Mom" or "Dad" are more important.

Proclamation on the family.

Children Imprint on their mother.

Devil knows that we need to be sealed eternally and will try to thwart it.

Motherhood is not given to everyone, but each can be achieve if we are worthy.

Every prophet has said that we will  have a blessing we deserve.

We conciously love and respect others when they are around us, even if we are not naturally thoughtful.

Contention when things are  more yours than ours.

When you serve others we love them. That might work to unite family members.

How do you know you are loved?

FHE - tell children how we feel about them. Let them talk. Maybe go see a film at the Joseph Smith building.

Friends come and go, but our family is forever.

Make best friends out of children.

What can husbands and wives do to make eachother happy.

Compliments, strive to remember and show their worth.

Give 100% all of the time, 50% will not work.

Express feelings by serving. Life goes smoothly.

Listen to others.

You can take your children to do baptisms.

Church exists to bless the family. Difference in purpose, bit same on power.

Relief Society -

Meet the Mormons movie share it from church site and invite to others. Proceeds donated to charity.
It will be shown at visitors center.

Fun things to do, at ward fair upcoming.

Thank you for service from our ward.

Shower for a sister who is investigating.

Think of trial, then review the things we are thankful for and it will help us.

Pains during fasting are blessings for the person who it is an object of the fast.

We do not appreciate things until after trial so we ought to be grateful.

***being grateful has always been easy for me and we are blessed with peace which I have been told will be obvious to others***

Commandments sometimes because people will not get a needed blessing any other way.

Soon a sense we are commanded to be satisfied with what we have.

Mother has terminal cancer, but focuses on what she could do for others.

Cinderella, dream is a wish your heart makes, despite being forced to do all of these things, but she had peace because of her attitude.

We can keep anything we thanked God for the previous day.

Positive attitude through trial is thought by the world to be denial.

I know what the Lord thinks is right, now, and although thpat is not what I wanted, and such, b

Carl Sagan

I felt the need to record a thing that happened years ago unless I am unable to pass it on.

I felt the overwhelming sense of "This is where I belong" when we were watching a video by Carl Sagan in Dahlonega, GA. I was at an Engineering Camp, and had recently written about a dreamy sort of thing that I had trouble putting in words, so I used poetry. The poem was about enlightened
Grains of sand gathering on a distant shore. As I watched that video and worked on my low temperature physics paper, I kept feeling so happy that I was there. There was a place where I could belong. I loved being surrounded by information and thoughts. I was too young to worry about other needs.

Later, I felt that way again, at the temple dedication. Uh, but this time I was aware of a missing thing. I was alone. Being alone is not part of my goal, I wrote a song about it called, "Be Free" in it I sing that "for once in my life, I want to belong... Be long with you" That is my potential and I am going to ask for it.

I have to realize that, although heard, answers come in least expected ways and times. But, I will be heard and if my experience at that Engineer Camp was any indication, a fufilling forever is worth waiting for.

Ogden stuff

Alright, you missed it, huh? Never fear I will try to give you something to have gotten from it. But, you are as bad as my 4 yr. old who kept asking what everything was for. I loved it, the presentation was so artistic, it was really about what you felt or thought, not much was said, so it left you to get what you will from it, and likely it will be what it was that you needed, which is why you really ought to have seen it for yourself!

I will not say much outside of light. My son kept asking things, so I passed on what my brothers always said to me, "you look like medusa", no, not that, "just watch and see for yourself." I expained that I could tell him what I learned, but that God would give him his own message if he listens. He made some brilliant observations. It is exciting to think of what he will "get" from temple attendance and symbolism. It was impressive to me how incredible it is when things are communicated even without words. Though, I am not referring to romantic love, the song "silence speaks your name" comes to mind.

As I taught my children how to learn my own mind was opened. I told them to keep asking questions, but do not say them outloud and answer them privately, too.

Adult education (seriously that is what they are calling it)

Teacher may be inept, or even be academic, but the spirit teaches.

A guy said he does not like CES cause they teach centered stuff.

A friend said, "Yeah, you're right. You're not very intellectual."

Reminds me of the story from Seminary about Brigham Young telling about Eliazar Miller bearing his testimony.

Favorite commentary on Isaiah "Understanding Isaiah" it is yours. His policy is if you had a book for ten years and did not read it you likely won't so get rid of it."

Main point of Job is found in many other scriptures (less poetic) God is all powerful and all wise.

A guy who did not get doctorate cause prefered to be called master instead of Doctor.

He loves president Faust, too. One time pres. Faust asked him to sit by him to be is friend. Fausts talk in 2004 on Job.

God will consecrate your afflictions for your good.

Just need someone to step forward and say they are sorry.

Brigham Young said, "Every trial and experience you have assessing through is necessary for your salvation."

King Rehoboam will tax so his thumb will be as thick as his father's thigh. A good saying that basically...

Not all scriptures are created equally.

"... For Satan is a broad."

All scriptures are patterns. We learn more from what we discover than we are taught.

Scholars say 3 different Isaiahs.
But, we know it was compiled before 590bc so that is irrefutably the only.

Reading scriptures is not scholarly but a love affair with the word of God. Good thing for a prohet to love.

We are commanded to read Isaiah in 3rd Nephi.

Children's Shows

It is still legislated as much as possible, and by the underground mother networks, that Television usage ought to be minimized. Really? Claims are that it ought not be a surrogate parent. Yet, I find that the things children get from tv use is so much better than reality. Admittedly, it takes a village, and due to external nudges the children learn and teach me such valuable truths via forced redundancy of "Children's Programs". Personally, I will go out on a limb alone and say that I approve of using tv to provide a venue for the mind to develop. Ofcourse, we always lie and in interviews claim that our children only watch a minimal ammount of TV.

I do not feel this replaces me as a parent, but it enforces everything I teach, giving place holders and examples for a growing acceptance of truth.

An example is our last Family Home Evening. The children, Joseph, 4 and Mary Anne, 3, love it so much! Because we use tools they already love to convey our lessons. Last week, we taught of the value of Family Histories, by telling them stories of when we were young children. Then, our activity/game included favorite videos of their own personal history, which they loved soooo much, and days later, they still talk about and review significant things from their past because it was on video. I think this is because they esteem their TV so much that to see themselves was soooo impressive. I think they would do anything to get to be on TV.

(Insert comment on journal based movies)

When my siblings were little, I used to use songs to teach them everything. I wrote songs for each address and phone number, which I still recall to this day. And that has so much worth, but as each child is different. I see that effecting Mary Anne more. She loves to learn a song. But, Joseph is like a sponge when it comes to absorbing things taught in a video from vocabulary to basic social skills.

I have learned so much from watching and rewatching and reading about his favorite Carachters. They generate a Passion in him that I could not muster.  One example of his regard for other personalities is a guy who makes kid friendly videos. His accent is quite different from ours and we find Joseph saying things like this guy when we constantly correct him. It is easier to work with what he observes than correct him, so it is important to monitor what is allowed to go in. But, who wouldn't prefer to live in a TV world? I pick Mr. Kangaroo or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

At bedtime a favorite is Beatrice Potter, which I found videos of online, and he loves those so much cause he already knew them. I think that is why kids like repitition. I noticed when we went gps Temple Open House how a totally new place felt like home to them when they excitedly pointed out familiar paintings. "Jesus has that picture in his house, too!", Mary observed. Also, I noticed how you can forget where you are (townwise) in a Wap-mart cause they are set up the same (or should be). Once, Dad went in the women's restroom cause the Walmart stores has reversed the location of men and women's restrooms in two frequently visited stores. This I getting long winded and off track, lol Thomas The Tank Engine reverie was how this all started. Well, that and a comment years ago about how a song was written to a chick on a TV show... Sorta.

The Giver

I rewatched this movie multiple times to be sure I was recieving all truths I needed. One overarching realization struck me. Though, things were good, ideal even, life was missing the most important quality of life, Love. Even family ought to be centered on this. Likely, it was the same thing that drew me so curious to the family life on Thor 2.

Sure, I freely admit a society based on other truths worked, and I regard cerebralism, but even in this working model, the most important things, and crowning realizations are never made.

The hero feels and accordinly makes a huge personal sacrifice, though never actually asked. The reciever not only gets, but reflects and deems love, though it also causes pain and suffering, to be worth sacrificing all that actually was ideal so that others might realize it.

This had been the thing I wondered at all along. Hadn't I been taught that any relationship would work? It just felt wrong. Surely, not any ought to be my head for eternity. It was far too serious an issue. I could contrast the way I felt for my children. That was pure love, and my doubt continues to surface regarding my companion.

I grew up watching movies like "Princess Bride" where true love is seen as a very rare comodity, one I am not likely to find, so love was not an attribute I looked for or even regarded. But, in Sunday School, someone brilliantly suggested that it was actually the only commandment we are given. If we honestly love, we desire everything we are commanded, it seems as if, to me, it was known that we,would fail to see the importance of love, so we would need to be commanded in all things.

So, the concluding revelation yesterday was that God has never, nor will he ever compel us. Obedience is the gift we may give. We will want to give it if we love. So, in a sense love is the key to freedom, because it is said exact obedience is the key to Freedom. Men are free to choose, true, but when we do so out of love we no longer need the bridle to steer us and we are trusted and free.

In the movie, people seem to be free, but they are constantly monitored and even their clothing is assigned to produce sameness or equality. I do not think we can love without being able to distinguish.

Stake business. Single adult callings.

This Sunday at the stake center.

Next Sat. 7pm at snow creek bldg. Or stake center. Not only for us, but for the world.

I tried not to smile during sac but kept thinking about the comment "let me get this right, God made us all, which includes the baker. The baker made the bread, which becomes the body of Christ."

Elder Perry is Oldest, but you cannot tell.

How can you know if you are doing things right. We might be ok once, but how do we know that we have continued to make correct choices?

You can use a bridle to guide and steer the horse.

Bits are small in the mouth, but it turns the whole animal.

The Holy Ghost is the bit and BC is the one who guides and Lord drives.

Blind obedience, not so. It is an emblem of our faith, like Abraham sacrificing Isaac. He will save us when we stop fighting.

Strangley enough obedience is the key to freedom.

Do not complain!!

Only flaw is that they do not know where to find the truth...

124 reminds me of the giver "The hour is hastening on when we shall be forever with the Lord when disappointment, grief, and pain are gone

Choice generation means they have many choices, which require a lot of responsibility.

What we desire and think about most will form who we become.

Knowing who you are makes choices easier.

If you Chase two rabbits you will not catch either.

Obedience is indicator of maturity.

Law can be simplified to Love.

Each of us will be given a trial as difficult for us as the story of Ambraham and Isaac.

If Abraham had a child as a result of obeying God. So, he trusted that he would still have seed, if he obeyed.

C.S. Lewis

There is but one good; that is God. Everything else is good when it looks to Him and bad when it turns from Him.

C.S. Lewis, The Great Divorce

ye cannot in your present state understand eternity...That is what mortals misunderstand. They say of some temporal suffering, "No future bliss can make up for it," not knowing that Heaven, once attained, will work backwards and turn even that agony into a glory. And of some sinful pleasure they say "Let me have but this and I'll take the consequences": little dreaming how damnation will spread back and back into their past and contaminate the pleasure of the sin. Both processes begin even before death. The good man's past begins to change so that his forgiven sins and remembered sorrows take on the quality of Heaven: the bad man's past already conforms to his badness and is filled only with dreariness. And that is why...the Blessed will say "We have never lived anywhere except in Heaven, : and the Lost, "We were always in Hell." And both will speak truly.

A bit of reminder

Last Sunday, our lesson was on Talents and our teacher made a particularly profound comment. She reminded us that our Bishop is inspired when he calls us to positions, and his source is our Father in Heaven and He knows our talents and asks us to do things that are suited to our talents even if it us in no way appearant to us. Often I hear people claim that they were the least suited to do a thing.

I have been asked to lead music and though it is a thing I ought to be perfectly suited for, I cannot sing. Hmmm, but, it is largely due to my willingness to serve regardless that I sort of "earned" a miracle.

We are given weaknesses to make them strong, and in this case it was a leap to believe that I would be able to see this set back as a blessing and accept the opportunity to serve in this capacity that my talent might be strenthened.

So, it is a reminder that singing is in fact one of my talents, though less obvious right now.

Josh Groban - You're Still You: http://youtu.be/fTady0w6dZ0

(All of this is like the warm up exercise in drama club of anunciating without the use of our tongues. It is humiliating and sounds terrible, but it is by trying to do without that we realize how much easier it is with.)

As a young adult working in the Southcenter Mall in Tukwilla, I was a rover and given tideous tasks that others did not like to do. To earn more, one preferred to use the cash register to earn a greater commission. I was always asked to go clean out the dressing rooms, which was seen as tideous and tiresome. In disguise, it was so helpful! It afforded me a better grasp of what and where everything in our inventory was located. I ended up earning more commission because I was better suited to actually aid customers who were serious about what they wanted and paying, etc. Though I had fewer times at the cash register, I made larger sales and established a better repoire with customers who upon returning would ask for me by name. I was placed permanently in that department and offered first each opportunity that arose.

My experience reminded me that I was in fact a descendent of the same Joseph who was blessed to be sold into Egypt by his brothers.

Brain dump

Though I have attended the temple for years. I still do not understand everything, but I know that I feel a certain way.

It is always best to take some time to pray in the peacefulness of the Celestial room. He felt good about it, and Isn't that the ultimate goal? To feel healed and good...

So grateful to go to the navoo temple, got to see pagents and the jail.

Bishop is always there to talk to.

Try to thank the Lord everyday for his atonement.

What do we live for if not to make lives a bit easier? (Look up George Elliot)

Can you make the Lord smile?

I hope to someday understand the atonement more fully.

"Why? Isn't my atonement enough?" Asks the Savior when we beat ourselves up over our mistakes.

It is through the atonement that we can even hope to return to God.

Regardless what happens or is said, the church was restored through Joseph Smith, who was a prophet.

I honestly do not know how I helped, because all we did is talk about heavy metal and star wars but at times all we need to do is show love and support.

We need not tell people what we believe, but we ought to show them.

Like going to the temple we do not even tell others, it will shape who we are.

Sunday School lesson - Developing Our Talents.

Singing is allowed if it is "happy birthday" if he starts it in the key he chooses.

Think of a talent a person in class has. then, name a talent that we have.

We can develop talents that we don't have. We have a responsibility to develop our talent.

We don't always know what our talents are and we can ask others.

If we recognize that we have weaknesses we can through faith be blessed to be able to turn it into a strength. (Ether 12:27)

How much time do you put in, it actually is not God given.

Bishop knows talents that we have been given. So he accordingly gives us calls.

A challenge can be taken and in a year be able to develop a talent, so maybe I ought to pick what talent I feel the Lord wants me to develop, and then trust it.

Story of Del Parsons being commissioned and he finally submitted a work that had criticisns and they were used to create a masterpiece.

Our talents/gifts should be used to help others.

Satan does not want us to try. But, he will try to stiffle us.

Talk that was given about desiring to help children be molded and Pres. Eyring prayed to know how to best help his child reach their potential.

Story of shy child who he carved a lion of and the child realized that potential within himself and became not shy.

Girls were given a bread board and taught to make bread for others.

As parents we see the potential in our children, just as our father in heaven.

We all desire to create.so do it, no specific talent is required. We have a boundless potential because our Father is a master creator just look around yourself.

Don't let the voice of others criticize you.

Relief Society -

Missionary work. Hastening the work.

Sister Joseph is so beautiful!!! It is very hard to prepare a child to go and even harder to let them go.

Curfew for children. They try to get to stay out longer, but must be firm and there was fighting.

Story about guy and violin in Lousiana.

Take name tag to the temple.

They go as boys, but come home as men, that change happens in 3 months.

Buy in 100% or get out. It helped them go to state not because of talent, but commenttary.

Buys all of field because not sure where the treasure is, it is in the middle of the field.

Evidence of maturity shown in letters, not as much a travelog, but more testimony.

It seems to me, that when you have a testimony you tell it when ever you can.

If I don't get them here, my brother will get them on the otherside.

This life is not the end.

"If I didn't want to go on a mission, I wouldn't."

Good idea of sending scripture to a life saver. Brilliant, scriptures are life savers. Can I send some to Lindsay, Lacy, mom and Dad.

Tattered shoes were kept and bronzed. To remind us of how dedicated we must be.

Her own son's shoes were kept. He had pnumonia but continued on to the end.

Saturday night

As always. I am going through an ultimate low. I know that I cannot cease to exsit but, I am just so exhausted that I need a break from everything. I am contemplating what would the consequence be if I just quit. I am tired of fighting so hard all of the time for things that ought to just be. Like my gait. I collaspsed on the couch and thought for some reason I have to fight just to do normal things like others. For example, to just sit, walk, or watch kids requires enormous amounts of energy. I cannot say why I even want to do these things anyway, but I do, but what if I just stopped trying? It makes me start to ask myself what do I want ideally to happen. I do not want things to be easy, and if I were my idea of beatiful, then what? So stinking what? I have the ability to get everything I said was valuable to me, but I am not content.

It seems like I am just too proud to just say, "Hey, I was wrong and this Isn't going to work. Help me." Cause, I still fully believe that it could and it will, so I think of a song, "Don't stop here..."

But, seriously, lately I am noticing how close people are coming to the recognition of things, but they do not realize how things really are. So close yet so far...

I think probably previous couples might have felt just as I do. I have done the best I can as I make terrible choices, but, I see now that my idea of what was right was not right. It is not right to fix up and recycle a bad thing expecting it to be good, but if I were wise once I recognized an error, I should have repented and started over and do better if not perfect instead of trying to mask things by making them seem good hoping they would become as expected.
I am sleepy.

Emoting

A thing that has never left my mind as I have watched performances and people speaking in you tube videos, they hold still. It reminds me of the time my piano teacher put a back pack on my back full of book and told me to see if I could play without moving. I noticed Brooksie kept moving too much when I was trying to make a video of her to but on a slice of bread, and it left an impression on me.

I know that I have been told certain things to avoid when speaking in public, like visual aides (beyond commonly used ones)and to not use my arms, or hands to make gestures. This is not hard for me. It is like in a class we were talking about tithing and someone explained that certain things are just easier for others and tithing was never a sacrifice for him, even when he had very little, just just was not a thing hard to do, if asked, he would do it. End of story. I think the same is true for me with regards to not using hands or gestures to speak. I bet it is a real challenge for others, but my difficulty is likely of no consequence to other and so it is never addressed.

I normally move as I speak. In fact, when I talk on the phone, not only do I nod my head and such, but I pace. I tend to loose the signal like that and drive others crazy. It is not uncommon to be told to "sit down!" cell phones in the car? um, not likely for me. Also when I talk on video I notice that I move or make incorrect expressions. My best friend took a class on Nonverbal communication and noted that I often say something entirely different than what my words say. Oh great? I hope it is not a for of duplicity or dishonesty. No one ever taught me the accepted mannerisms or any mannerisms meaning, besides one I often do, folding my arms. To me it does not mean at all what it seems to be communicating.

Most musicians do it, perhaps not the ones trained to be on video, but in an orchestra or symphonic group I see others do it, too. That is not an excuse, but a note that I am not alone. It is called "Emoting". But my Piano instructor saw it as something that distracted. though music is aural, we have eyes. I am going to try to not move as much in my future posts, though it will be hard for me.

Brain dump

New art openhouse on Thursday.

Service day on sat 8am at church. At noon there will be a Bbq a the church at noon. Outside unless it is rainy, then inside.

7am gen priesthood mtg at the stake center 12 and above.

If we are not careful we will Chase after worldly things.

Easy to get caught up in the things especially since we are so affluent as Americans. Even a poor American has a great deal more than others. But other, more humble nations, feel like they have more, it is more a matter of attitude.

Friends and family become more important as we focus on things of an eternal nature.

Sometimes life feels like you are in a leaky boat. Some, feel as if there is no hope. We can have a positive effect on others.

Quoted Louis Armstrong, colors of the rainbow in particular the part where people are saying "I love you" through their actions.

We have been given others who we come in contact with as an opportunity to love them and increase the world's sum total of happiness.

Everyone we meet or interact with, it is intended.

About 14 years of hard work for 4 minutes in spotlight. An olmypic champion is likened to our opportunity to have a moment in time on earth, we get to win eternal life.

Through the atonement we progress bitty step at a time to earn the prize of eternal life of perfection (or flawless in this case).

When completing a goal it is good to sometimes see how far we have come instead of how much we have left to go.

The atonement will also make up for our imperfections from measuring up to another. We do not, rather we should not compare with others. But instead run with patience. Timothy 4:6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7 I have fought a good afight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

All prophets have been missionaries.

Greatest missionary was likely Paul, and look at what his background was.

Lord is the one who calls individuals. Media can be used in several ways to preach and do missionary work that were not even available before. It signifies the hastening of the work.

Everyone is God's children.

Through two missionaries who taught parents then children accepted. And served missions and had children so forth.

You can live the best way you can,  and it will do so much good.

When I had a job a number of proper knew that I was LDS and I helped a family return to church just because they saw the peace in my life and recognized it and missed it.

When missionaries come, let them talk as they are closer to the spirit, and they have the mantle.

We can give financially to missionaries through mission fund.

We need to pray by name for those we love and the missionaries.

We need not ever give up.

He read the
Fellowship of the

He will be able to be recognized. Because of service to him.

The Lord spoke to Mary Magdalene and was not percieved until he spoke her name.

"I feel immortal. I do not think that today could be my last." But, I turned to prayer when dealing with how fragile morality was and he was actually mortal. Lord blessed me that I only needed one pain pill, not told to brag, but to tell about how blessed it was that the Lord can do.

Another story was told about an ill infant, and the baby looked up and smiled after a blessing, this is like how Jesus saves our life and gives it to us.

The body of a wife caused him to return to the faith he had despised, because though she was there, she was not really there and it was a testimony that there is a spirit and it lives somewhere.

There is no injustice or abuse that will go unfixed.

Story likewise of being first one to a car wreck and he saw a man who had been his bishop, but it was obvious that he was different without a spirit.

Funerals are different without eternal perspective. But, those who always have it taken for granted.

She was praying so hard and her husband heard a still small voice and heeded it and testifies how it is truly the Godhead speaking.

In that injustice included that all will be righted, like the injustice of worrying a lifetime about a kid in junior high told the person they had skinny legs.

I Needed to think

So, I sat down outside, but I was followed by kids. I guess praying is out of the question. But, that is my most happy answer. I am so afraid of doing anything rash, but something must be done.

My prayer will be heard, and I do believe in possibilities but, I am reasonable and know not to expect immediate results. Like that story of a guy who is drowning but three boats come to rescue him, but he says "No thanks, God is going to save me." I see the problem with thus story. The drowning man, to be likened to us, needs to recognize divine intervention, which he seems unable to do.

I think instead of a tactical team who gives direct orders that must come from one source or people could end up unecessarily hurt. So, this new guy sees the instruction given as foolish and think that he knows better. He may be smarter, but in this case not following the plan is not the best way to do the job. I recognize a bigger plan, larger than I could possibly see, so I will be obedient and wait and not be rash. Even if my actions seem counter productive, they were decided to be best and ultimately life is simple. It is about knowing what is right and doing it.

I fought over a word choice of right over best. Cause obedience comes before approriateness, and that is the lesson I am being taught. It is sooooo hard to not think of things as what is best, but to think of a grander perspective and do what is right.

It took a lot of time

As a child I read that contention was of the devil, so I wanted no part. I worked on being a peace maker for years and years. Growing up with siblings tries one's patience, but four boys and no sisters yet was very challenging, then when they did come they were too young to be comerades and I did not find any comfort at school, my classmates called me a freak. Nonetheless, I seriously did not want to be angered or the source of anger for others. I focused on not letting things bother me for years and years until now I can endure almost unbearable things like moms do.

But, my real wisdom comes from learning that it can be willfully
developed. It, like most things worth having, take a long time.

Show our faith

Be Christlike.

Faith is our shield and protection.

Witness only comes after the trial of our faith.

If with face trials with faith we will have courage. But, if we fear we obviously do not have faith.

I have thought before and still think it is easier to listen with your heart when someone speaks an unfamiliar language.

The best way to serve God's children is to be the best you you can be.

We will be GLAD to endure things (like flaming logs and mashed potatoes) if we think of the result. One day we will see God and be accountable.

It seems like people notice that the horrible things happen that end up causing the best thing that help them.

Served a mission mainly out of love. Love for the savior evolved into a realization that the savior loved him and wanted to find a way to repay.

If Ye love me, keep my commandments.

Obedience to one shows them love.

***It seems like the no matter what you do it will be enough. So, just do what you can and pay the rest in faith.

Never heard of anyone loosing out after paying tithing.

If you lack wisdom - conference talk.

The words were guessed were a part of a greater lesson, seemed to be about the garden of Eden.

Truth - what do we think of when we hear that word. It can come from lots of places.

Korean use of a word that means ours. Reminds me of my mother's lingering comment when she came to see Lena in the hospital. She said, "I love how you refer to things as ours and not yours."

We are commanded to be obedient.

Obedience is itself a act of faith.

A missionary did not meet many who would hear their message, but JW would, and the missionaries struggled with the choice to go meet with them.

The Savior knows you well, although, I do not.

Charity is important to have for yourself as well as others.

If we believe we will recieve what is best from the giver of all who also knows best.

If you love the people you serve it will be as if serving God.

Are tithes paid by other faiths?

The best and complete answers are found in True to the Faith.

Most religions ask but only Mormons are alone in actually doing it.

Pilots lived in a place to.increase the tugging enough to get a building and then, they were transferred.

Confession of a struggle with tithing immediately she was asked to teach our lesson.

Blessings do arise when we faithfully pay our tithing.

Cheerfully giving is significantly important.

Missionaries do better in poor areas. Poor denotes humble...

Story about taking actual livestock to church office and got money.

Object lesson with skittles and allow on child to eat until almost gone then ask them to give!

Story of lady who was struggling to decide to pay her tithing, then remembered what she had actually already covenanted to do, and it was easier although results could be perilous.

Seek is an action word...

Mango tree was desired, but kept growing plum trees from plum seeds. Story of woman who was selling seeds and the guy who never even planted them, but claimed the promise to be false that claimed they were garunteed to grow. This is likened to the scriptures.

****You must be prepared to act upon the answer you get.

Our truth comes through the filter of imperfect people.

It reminds me of the story of the guys who find bits of truth of Elephant.

Among truths we must find the ones important to us.

It is appropriate for earth life, that we only see parts at a time because we cannot understand the entirety and fullness of things.

Observing what fruit comes from our seeds.
Try it out, it will show, we will have evidence needed.
We then get personal revelation, and to learn about what to do.
Sometimes we do not pray about a thing because we feared the answer.

****We must be prepared to act upon the answer we get.

Brain dump

This is a very important time the missionaries feel it. The work is hastening.

Your life will get better and the gospel will help you feel a peace. Your faith will be well place.

Training doesn't bother him, but giving a talk does make him nervous.

We learn by modeling behaviors.

Good or bad our children will learn from us.

Learning agility: ability to deal with change.

Some jobs do not require much information.

Today, we must constantly deal with things changing. Brother of Hated is an example, he did not know how to build a ship. Nephi is a great example, too. He realized that he could not do things but the Lord did.

The family is a Celestial organization.

Technology has been accelerated for hastening of his celestial (familial) work. And we need to be agile and sometimes unlearn things, like that it is boring, or that new things are hard.

Boilingbrooke is a good resource to learn about new technology.

***We simply must unlearn many things to not be held back!

Hastening the work. Moses 1:39. That is the work that we are hastening.

What side are you on? We know "how it ends". Both good lessons from songs.

Trees have roots and branches and it needs them to survive.

If we are reluctant to share the gospel here, it will not change after death.

External exhaltation?

Getting addicted to indexing, there are things worse to be doing.

We ought never doubt the connection and assistance from the other side.

The atonement applies when we and we will fall short in doing this work.

What is truth, a knowledge of things that cannot change. Truth is portraying the correct impression

Honesty is opposite of dishonesty.

Lie - intent to decieve. Which includes omission.

Draw a line between honesty and dishonesty. It is black and white.

Almost honest isn't honest. The line is immediately drawn after honesty anything less is dishonest.

Dishonesty only pays short term, even in story where guy has plenty of money.

By helping others build the kingdom of God.

To be a disciple of Christ you must be honest with others. Like it was mentioned, how only easiest requirements are part of temple reccommend question.

Lucifer - Son of the morning

Names are given. But, did he know everything. Like how he would fall? Or did he not know everything at that point?

Trouble with telling white lies we might get colorblind.

What is good or not does not require a lie if we say things that are sincere.

When we are ask true or false question, do people lie?

It is one of the easiest things to be honest. That is why it is on the interview.

Story of boy who shot a BB Gun and then he wrote on his mission papers that he fired a weapon in city limits and said that he had been asked, to always be honest.

My mom forbid us from saying "just kidding" because we said lies and covered them up with calling it a joke.

Sometimes dishonesty makes your story better.

He who says there is no such thing as an honest man, is himself a knave. That taught me that say false to the test question. You are telling that.

RS - sat.  at Mt Green.

Why we must have a plan for our children because sure enough Satan does.

What can we do on Sunday.

All of the things that we think we need to do, but do not have time to do them, we have the time to do them on Sunday.  We had a list they they could put stars by the thing that they did on Sunday was the only time to do it, and we monitored.

We teach all we can and then pray. I will pray and fully believe that somehow a miracle will happen.

Do not push when a little progress is made they jump on it.

We cannot give our children our children our testimony. They must choose for themselves.

If parents fail to do, then it is up to grandparents.

We must fight until the end and never stop pushing.

It is a long game, sometimes things will not happen in our time frame. But, like sister Hufstetler told us how we might only be a step.

I also remember sister Johnson told us how long it took but even just before death after a long lifetime.

Story of Enos how his father taught him, but it wasn't until he was hunting in the woods one day that he pondered the things taught.

It is our duty and goal to teach children so that they can return to father in Heaven.

Prepare children and help them to remember to pray for others.

Older women give advice to start young. With things like FHE.

Charity-story of Valerie Wendell when see photo of Good Samaritan, how? she retold it. In nusery she had used the photo to tell the story, then Valerie told a group of other little kids retelling it in great detail.

Because of one choice now extended family is almost unnummerable.

Greatful that gospel was restored bc of great effect it has on us in making us and future generations of people better.

How many does the Lord want back vs the number of people who are at least aware and trying, we need to at least help others.

As we help others we are actually helping ourselves.

Without savior we wouldn't even have a hope.

Choice is a great value because we can choose to be happy.

Strongest person is likely the one who endured the greatest challenge. We will not be given any challange we cannot handle.

Quote about being optimistic by Abraham Lincoln.

She started in another language then said that it was not spoken on her mission. Ha ha ha, but wasn't it pretty?

We get stuck in situations wether by our own choices or not.

We need to make some sort of action. Even prayer is an action.

We get to try again even if we mess up.

Jesus was in control and he said "You only have power in that I give it to you." When his accuser said, "You know I have the power to determine your fate?"

Charity-what do you think of?

Story of going to Montana, met a man walking and her dad stopped and put his coat on the man. When he refused to go to their home. Or take a ride. Glad for the example from that story.

Pure love of Christ.

A lawyer was trying to trick the Savior by asking,"who is my neighbor?"

Story told by Monson about the dying man in a nursing home who was  hated, but his nurse prayed to feel a portion of the Savior's love and she did and was able to cradle the man in her arms as he died. Then she was exhausted and needed to rest.

Good Samaritan was GOOD and a  neighbor. Because he helped with no concern for self.

We might be asked, "Where is our neighbor?" After our journey on earth. And, what will be say?

Study life of Christ.
Pray to have Charity.
Learn to love yourself.
Know that we are not better than others.

Heavenly Father sees us at our best.

RS Social - Bring stuff 6:30 rain should not discourage you.

The difference of words associated with Marriage vs. Eternal.

World's view differs it lacks concern for others. It asks what does it do for us.

Plead for celestial marriage b/c it is crowning ordinance of Celestial kingdom.

Never spoke an unkind word. Joseph Fielding Smith says he did not know any.

*** Story about man who asked wife to think about it. So she did for 6weeks. It is the most significant choice.***

two ideas

Twice now I have decided not to do a thing that I ought to do because it was inconvenient, but in the end I ended up doing the right thing despite what I decided. I wonder if that says something about me or if I am slowly building up to what I have decided in my mind despite the fact that I know in my heart what must be done. It really does seem like thinking something firmly and even deciding it does not mean any finality at all. Sorta sad, yet hopefull.
Another note is regarding pain medication and how it has no effect on me and nurses have commented on my high threshold for pain. Maybe, I do not even acknowledge small pains and aches and so am not even mindful of them, and when it comes to a thing I feel asprin does nothing anyway. Maybe that is also why labor didn't seem to warrant any drug or why I ran great distances. I remember my whole cross-country team taking pain killers before races but, I never honestly believed they would make a difference anyhow.
Then, I noticed other people must react to things introduced to their bodies cause in the glucose tests the nurses mention things I might feel when drinking the sugar, and it seemed so unlikely and almost funny, sort of like what I considered a myth of kids having a sugar high after candy.
