The pull of the world needs not only be equaled but the pull of what is good needs to exceed...like at work we are taught to for any unappreciated or negative comment we must make 5 good ones that uplift.

The bishop spoke though we were out of time and looked at us individually and shared a message from the Lord through the spirit that each of us was loved.

The beauty of the Gospel is that we do not need to know everything or how it will work out. We only need to love and enjoy life as we will, if it so be that the way we choose to live is the way that brings eternal life then, how extremely happy we will be! But, we will be happy however we live eternally.

It is good to tell our children about the Joy of the season, but we need to show them the Joy of knowing our Savior personally and knowing the peace of being forgiven.

Do not just assume that others know how much you appreciate them. That is a reason he loves Christmas because he loves how people show their gratitude and have a reason to do so.

An adversary made negative comments and he responded "hey it's Christmas, dude. Sticks and stones. " the man proceeded to throw things at him.

Do not look beyond the mark but exactly obey what God teaches.

It is of significant importance to be in the temple on a regular basis.

Obeying the prophet and reading the book of Mormon made her focus on what she is doing like regularly praying, etc. And extra strength might seem unrelated to reading the book of Mormon but It is by turning our focus to one thing that we change our whole being.and great strength and confidence results.

Social media fast had ramifications in our lives. One sister through obeying the prophet and refraining from unnecessary things allows one to see and do what does really matter.

The temple is more than just peaceful and serene. We need it!

The dead are not really dead.

We are still learning line upon line. The elder prophet David O McKay said he was BEGINNING to understand the endowment.

The youth are such a good example and they represent the families.

Story of going to Mexico... And how hard it is to get to The temple. It took 150 years to get 50 temples.

Not dozing but receiving revelation. He drew a smaller temple and told that in 3 years the next 50 should be built.

Get into baptism is important but almost useless unless the endowment and sealing are performed.

By seeing how one is impressed by a given scripture allows one to better see how they are feeling and understanding and how to teach them.

When we go to the temple we will be instructed by the spirit.

We need to step up our work in preparing for the Saviors return.

Good idea to list resulting promises made to us if we read our scriptures or attend the temple or any such command. The Lord never gives us a commandment without a promised blessing it is as dependable a law as other earthly laws like gravity and if we document it it may build a testimony.

A community celebrates Christmas not with gifts, but they take any unresolved issues so that every household can have peace for Christmas.

Blessings from home centered learning

Unleashing power of families.

Christ knocking on door, that is a door in our home, like a house not a church building.

Parents will gain all the blessings and powers that goes to teachers.

FAMILY IS THE BUILDING BLOCK OF THE CHURCH.

Stake and ward FAMILY. why is that metaphor so commonly used?

Strength family has to teach will take us closer to our Savior.

Almost impossible to teach a child anything contrary to what they learned at home.

Bro. Rutter shared things he learned despite what is taught about what we do or believe.

This new program will help us keep the Sabbath Holy all day.

Baptized children set a beautiful example for siblings and the power becomes. It is likewise very important for parents to teach by example all times.

We have always been teaching the gospel at home now the family will be handed the reins so to speak and now be given the responsibility.

It is appropriate maybe necessary to meet in groups outside of church. "Scaffolding of the church and its structure is going to be removed." And flexibility needs to be granted so that the spirit may touch and work they way is needed.

Read introductory section"conversion is the goal". Family centered study is a "game changer".

The ONLY WAY to know God is through the spirit. Make sure your children know things.

It is important to be there. Nephites were far fewer but were able to win because they were there. We need to not be afraid and for whatever reason not be there.  That is a theme of songs that stuck out to me when I heard it. I wondered what happened to cause them to jot that down. I thought golly, it is very important to them to the point that it was put in a popular song to be repeated to the world.

Being there means more than just attending our meetings.

Geneological research is a worthy reason for lives to have been saved.

Most important missionary work that can be done is with your children/grandchildren.

Serving a mission you get to be with your spouse 24hours a day.  GET? Yes.

You get to be introspective, but it is too late to straighten everything out... Reminds me of Dickens Christmas Carol.

We will all have an interview with the Savior.

Toss out the word missionary work and replace it with ministering.

Bringing his children here. Our duty is to be inviting. Literal gathering in Layton where we will get the temple.

Seeing the change in others strengthens our knowledge of God.

Not only preach the gospel, but to be an example of Gospel principles.

God's children being invited to recieve ordinances is the utmost importance.

I am a bit upset that everything had been lost. My notes were entirely deleted.

Moatly, the best I can recall is talks based of a talk by Elder Bednar in 2014. It Was first how we. Feel like blessings are when things seem to go our way, but to the contrary we need a "load" to gain the spiritual traction to recieve blessings.

What stood out to me was a comment regarding our every single prayer being heard and answered. God not only knows us but he loves us each more than we could even comprehend.

The greatest lesson I got was of the baby girl in the pew in front of us. She did not want the thing her father wanted for her. He tried to persuade but I could see plainly how she absolutely did not want that thing. So, finally he grew exasperated and just held her on his lap and forced her behavior to act as he wanted. To me it seemed a message from a Heavenly Father asking me to observe and reflect.

Cause of the talks In had a much better vantage point from which to observe how differently things appear at the time from what they really are.

We need to realize that people change,and they might not be today who they were yesterday.

Love others no matter what.

We are the only hands and eyes that Christ has upon the earth right now.

Never feel like you are compromising when you are loving others.

People think that they no longer need the Savior, the gospel has never changed.

Loving is the essential part of uniting our families!

As a family we kind of doing crazy things.

This is the saviors church and if any program or other things becomes an issue just remember that.

How this strengthens or weakens our testimony of the gospel. For me it totally did. As I thought about the one who annoys me, it was uncomfortable and my inclination is to cut off all association, even in thought with this person. It reminds me of that movie "Errand of Angels" where a chick has a terrible missionary companion and situation did not allow disassociating with the person. But, back to my point, this is like doctrines or thoughts that cause us to doubt. There may be doctrines that we must face, but when doing so be sure it is prayerfully and lovingly dealt with. The feeling that came is likely an indication that the spirit would prefer a disassociation at this time not abandonment. Some doctrines as well as people might not sit well with us so find and enjoy those that do.

Place a photo of the savior in the classroom.

Relate the story to the story inthe scripture. Trust in the spirit to teach.

Pray that class has the sense to listen to the holy ghost.

Create an environment in a place to ask questions.

Mary drew sin and then to represent sacrament and what it does she erased it, but we decided that although you can erase sin, the effects will still be apparent.

Explain Joseph's Steam engine parable.

Sometimes it does more good for your children to see you go help others than to stay and go play legos with them.

In Mozambique they speak portuguese.

Story about helping a man drive up a hill and then that guy ended up being his interviewer at the job he got and it in turn paid for him to provide for his family.

Crab mentality exhibited when friends pull you down. Unlike Jonathan and David who are an example of good friends.

Children are reminded to pray for anyone anytime, and they will be answered.

Book of Mormon if you believe it is true, then the stories about a man being smitten because of his going against the church is true also.

There will always be things that you do not know or understand, but "Heavenly Father is giving away the secrets of the universe".

If you do not continually pedal on your bike then you will fall this is like a testimony.

Say kind things to yourself.. or in other words, fake it until you do it. If you feel bad about yourself, do and say kind things for yourself.

Service is best thing to do for yourself.

Teach the gospel,  it gains forgiveness.

SERIOUS QUESTION: Wait, if we are forgiven, why would we want to gain it?

Story about a woman who touched christ and related it to each of our ownselves and how we can be healed if we reachout and touch him.

Pure heart. How it can be achieved is taught through the atonement.

When we see him we will be like him, pure in heart shall see God.

All things were created by Jesus, his knowing how everything was made and he knows even things that we do not know about our earth, and knows how to do things like be resurrected.

Why would Jesus bring up that someone touched him, surely he knew, but he may have mentioned it to teach us to be mindful of others around us.


"I'm not going to stop the wind for you." But, had to believe that I would be okay when in a terrible storm. We knew our prayers were answered, and the answer and confirmation of help from Heavenly father is a tender mercy.

Having a pure heart is  seen through the attribute of meekness and that of love.

People love to serve is sooo incredible. People rush to accident, perse to help!

Quick to anger is the opposite of being Christlike.

to give a reference, my mind was busy trying to solve the issue of "I knowwhat must happen" and I am willing to do it, but I do not know how. Well, I realized, before that it is all a matter of timing...

Ok, I woke up and instantly saw the books on my night stand and thought, "I need to read and return those, it has been a year, so neglecting them has become habitual, but remember how excited I was to get them?" Instantly, my heart was filling up with blood, ha ha ha, no, gratitude, I am referring to my feelings, which I call my heart. Ok, so I just gave a lesson on choosing appropriate media, or rather my daughter did and I was her back up support, so I decided to turn to some appropriate influence cause if I filled my thoughts with something, then I could stop fretting about my condition.

The movie that I turned on was called something like A warning To America. It is a documentary series called Nephite Explorer. This particular episode was starting with the premise that the United States is a promised land, and it cited that even Abraham Lincoln prayed when amidst the civil war and had checked out the Book of Mormon from library of Congress. He fully believed that this war torn land was a land of promise...which ironically was the exact thing the book I intended to read today was about called The Lincoln Hypothesis.

But, wait, the blog title was "Moses knows" was that misrepresentation? Goodness, no. The documentary began it's investigation in the well-documented "Promised Land" of Israel, also started by a man named Abraham... Yep, Israel.

So, I instantly clung to the part where the narrator explained that the promised land became a real nation at the time of Moses, who knew that his people would go to a land, but he did not know when, ooops, yes he did, but it was not to happen in his lifetime and he prepared Joshua accordingly cause he still knew it would happen., likecrossing the red sea, it might seem extremely hard to impossible to man, and understandable that it would not be accomplished, but Moses knew that it would, and it did. I needed to hear that this morning! How did Moses know? He was a prophet and spoke face to face with God, so, if God told him that it would happen, it would!

For the strength of the youth cited again. It must be extremely significant.

This booklet is likened to a high jump bar.

Feel closer to God through service.

Simple acts are brst forms of service, and by seeving in the home is significant.

When we serve we become more like Christ.

Sometimes, in conversations we start pouring out our heart and end up powerfully bearing our testimony.

Followed the prophet in having enough food storage. That was not the talk I had prepared for her, but I attended her program and she gave a great talk about how she was blessedalthough her father had no job, because they had stored enough.

This woman was able to endure a divorce and various situations becausr she KNEW where she was and what she was doing through revelation.

"I love you, but I love God more."

Scriptures teach that Jesus is the Christ.

Heavenly Father seeks to bless us with the temporal things we need.

Dignity comes from working to provide the things we need.

Book of Mormon is the heal all of all things, just read it,.

There is usually a dip of baptisms when mission presidency changes.

Early speakers, it was noted that they were well-prepared. I was just thinking that exact same things.

Self-reliance is so important as a part of ministering.

Each of us here has been a recipient of missionary activity.

When we minister, we do not ask what they need, prode or whst no will cause them to glaze things over as ok, bit onstead gather infomation.

"Mormons are likely the only ones who love by assignment."

We can cause the answer to someone else's prayers on ministering to those around us.

"Need more Jesus in my life."

There was a path, that a flock of sheep waited patiently for their turn.

Independence us good, but we must follow and know God this is like the sheep safely on path.

Gather to the temple, sogn of second coming.

Members need to be prepared for the temple.

Where can we find christ? Mary & Joseph tell us where he is found: fpund in the temple, hearing and answering questions.

He was 12 and that is the age when we can go to the temple.

Everything orth kniwing is taught in the temple. Temple is a house of learning.

Children need to learn family history in an interesting way.

Our example of attending the temple teaches our children where they need to be safe.

Temple recommend questions are spiritual seperators, like seperating sheep from goats.

Holding a reccommend is a priviledge, and sometimes we are not truly spiritually prepared to deserve such.

A person may not yet be converted even though they are a regularly attending baptized member of the church.

Make a home an extension of the temple.

You will find an incomparable peace in the temple.

Temple lead BoM people to live after the "manner of Happiness"

Covenant keepers are commandment keepers and are happy.

God will bless and heal us in details of our life.

Increased revelation as a redult of temple attendance.

Jesus was in the temple. But no one laid hold on him there.

Where Christ is the adversary cannot be.

We see that in First Vision.

God will fight our battles.

Now let us rejoice is quoted and "Christ and his people will ever be one."

Law enforcers are often called things like "dead inside" which is contrary to the dutu that ought to be filled by members of yhe church of Jesus Christ.

It requires stretching of oneself.

Section 20 of d&c commands us to invite other, which feel as uncomfortable as an awkward teen asking someone on a date.

Trust ourselves a little less and the Lord a bit more.

Every person, EVERYONE is a child of God.

Like taking a first step, likely to take a long time, but will be worth it when it happens.

Testimony is an anchor to my soul.

Temple will bring alot of Missionary opportunities.

There will be a mission in Layton, UT!

We, each of us, must do more. Mostly by inviting others into our homes...

It is like the comment made about recalling what we did in our youth enabled us to accomplish great things today. It is because of all the good we have done that we can help spread the gospel to others.

We set a date and time and then inform the missionaries, not ask them first. We will be blessed, and if events take place to ready them to learn more you at a later date. We will have been successful, even if you are rejected.

Missionary work brings people to the church, but temple work keeps them there.

We do not have a preconcieved notion of what we are going to be doing, but it includes ministering, attendung to the wants and needs of others. Reminds me of Moses when he was leading the children of Israel out of Egypt.

A ward is successful when it does the duty of bringing others closer to God and they feel love.

Ministering is not done by "tossing verbal thunderbolts."

All that is good, invites to do good. Simple enough, so never teach without inviting to come closer to Christ.

To be a light to the world we need to improve do we have more light and need to minister to others. By others, it should not just be friends, family and church members.

When we ask for specific information or things, those things happen.

We absolutely NEED revelation to know what is true.

This harkens back to the previous comment about setting the date for the lesson.

Good information influences how good the revelatiom is. Like how he interviewed each brother although he had to pray and ponder them to know through revelation.

I feel like if I wish for the gospel to be shared and someone is ministered to...although, I cannot be there, I can do exactly that for someone else. I need to be Brave!! and minister as if I sm helping the one I pray for, I am almost sure someone is praying for the sisters I am ministering to.

When acting rarely does it only involve one person, so all must independently get the same revelation.

Love may be needed to be tested for more information to be revealed, this reminds me of a demonstration in the temple of a prayer circle, the spirit cannot be allowed to participate in our prayers unless we love one another.

"Lord, I WOULD follow you..." we all want to help but, knowing where makes different.

When prompted, 90% of the time it will be from the Lord. So, we need to act on these ideas 100% of the time. Until, we will "grow into being a person of revelation."

I love how he used it as a selling point to propose to his wife that he understood revelation.

If we obey one prompting, we will recieve more promptings.

Praying together increases our feeling we obtain the power of God.  This is dofficult to impossible in marriage and raising children. We NEED to be good a revelation to raise children.

It seems a Pattern We hear over and over so it must be significant.

1)be worthy, and the best we can be
2)ask for SPECIFIC want and need
3)a crisis is not the time to learn about revelation.

To know in my head is not to know in my heart, the sister reads and learns in her head, but when she shares her testimony she then knows it in her heart.

Put exclamation marks behind things instead of a question mark. You know them not doubt them.

Sometimes, it can be extremely difficult to just stand still. Seriously!

Mind messes with us, like imagining scary things when we feel unprotected, satan uses that to discourage us and we start to think that we do not measure up.

Read scriptures with family daily. It is important and will bring the spirit as needed...definitely have a testimony opportunity in class on fast Sundays.

Last day of school, and bore testimony that we can love someone that we do not see anymore, the tears are similar.

Went to great resturaunt, but could not recall the  so he asked what is the name of that  long stem flower we give at mother's day, his friend said "A rose?" He excitedly replied yeah! That's it "hey Rose, what is the name of that restruraunt we went to last night?"

Dalene Read told a story about how a dog went missing and their water started to smell bad and then they discovered the dog had fallen in the well, and died.

We are who we are because they were who they were

When we learn about the past we gathered strength for the future.

Just give your talk, "no one will remember anyway."

Greatest reward of this life is to be called a covenant keeper.

Making a garden is likened to scripture study, and think about how to enrich your soil.

Sprinkler irrigates much as scripture study does.

It helps to pick a few topics to grow as one would when choosing vegetables or what not for a garden.

Smart phones are a good tool to use to remind us to read our scriptures.

Mothers know what they are doing, you don't.

If you ask a woman about her mother then she will brag about how awesome her mother is. Then, if you ask her about herself she will not say much or have many positive things to say.

A job listing for a mother seemed impossible, because of what is expected of them.

Just when you think you have it all together things change and you realize that you don't.

Strength of women seems summed up by the word love.

"I am not being quiet because I have nothing to say, but because nothing should be said." This quote is not right, but I cannot recall it, it was an observation of the foreign landscape and how it basically already says everything.

I used to think that being an individual mean being free to think for yourself while giving up your will to another being like God was becoming assimilated like a borg. While, I learned that giving up our will to God increases our uniqueness by refining our natures and leaving the parts that truly make us individuals. This is an example of how we become diverse  through becoming one.

At a funeral so many paid respects for a man who thought no one would even take notice of him.

Recognizing that we are a child of God makes us all amazing and we need nit compare with how we are doing in comparison with others. Rathar than dwell on how much we need to accomplish  but on how awesome we truly are. Focus on the good around is and about us.

Sometimes it is hard to differentiate between a prayer and a wish, but a prayer is TWO-WAY conversation with God.

Prayer is always more productive when we actually talk about our day instead of merely thanking God for the day and asking him to bless the next one.

God gives us a prophet because he loves us all so much, and has always desired to communicate with men.

Even when I did not want to go to church I would learn and hear exactly what I needed at that time.

It is important to listen to others ideas and be willing to consider them entirely.

When something good is about to happen, trials become more numerous and strong, as is an example with Joseph Smith.

The adversary will always ALWAYS try to discourage us from a good thing.

What difference does it makes to believe in your religion opposed to other Christian religions?

A soccerteam is much like a family. Fun comes when we follow rules and we score goals it makes us happy.

Joseph Smith knew about the plates but he was not able to actually get them yet.

(Great teaching, has the full attention of all of the children. Some techniques: soft voice, dressed up, used props that interested them and asked many questions. It probably helped alot that the children do not know him and are trying to figure out what to think about him. Also, stayed on subject by asking questions, but not actually allowing everyone to answer.)

Just give a really bad talk and you will not be asked to talk again.

Basically, just try to be perfect, which you will never will achieve.

Service does not necessarily mean manual labor.

There are many ways to feel the spirit. Included were service, going to the temple, and praying.

A sure fire way to keep that feeling with you, if you feel it, is to imagine that the savior was literally always beside you.

Several books mention the same most significant truth. It is, " the atonement of Jesus Christ is the most important event of all..."

***Children are not a distraction from more important work, they are the most important work.

Sometimes we have to forgo some good things in order to do what is the most important.

Always place God first (recall the time on the Gordon B. Hinkley movie where Majorie realized that Gordon would always place God above her, and that was exactly as it should be.)

Love is spelled T I M E.

Enos mighty prayer for Lamanites, may have been intended for those living presently, but, it was answered by a God who see's in different terms and likely extended his answer into blessing all those who descended from all those Lamanites alive at that time effecting many today.

We need to recognize who our neighbors are, and show love, regardless of circumstances (favorable or not).

Simple acts of service, do tremendous things.

Anger can consume us and make forgiveness practically impossible.

In fact, we need to forgive ourselves to ever move forward...reminds me of that song, "I Dare You to Move" by switchfoot.

Does it ever get easy? No. But if you prepare, the Lord will help you out.

The parable of Leaven is pretty much avoided by most bible Scholars, but it is spoken of and explained by Joseph Smith to describe the workings and growth of the church, the leaven is explained as the testimony of three witnesses.

I try not to think too much about what I am going to say in my testimony so that the spirit can speak through me.

The church is undeniably true.

We should be sinigng "Joy to The World" all of the time.

Brother Harding told a personal story that was so much like Abraham and being asked to sacrifice his son, his father was called to serve a calling that seemed inappropriate because it seemed impossible, but he gained a strengthened testimony to see  it  was ultimately the right calling at the right time and he neded to use the atonement to be forgiven for doubting and feeling angry. So, it helped him understand the grand plan of Heavenly Father, because he "didn't need Jesus until [he] 's there." Nothing is more impossible for God.

Feeling of excitement about the temple in Layton is similar to the way we feel "happy" when we are baptized.

I almost did not include this because not much is recorded, but I cannot stop thinking about one thing that was said about spring likening it to springtime in Utah and our lives and how we needed to keep our hopes up regardless what the rest of the world in all of their wisdom might say.

When it warms up and the sunshines it feels so wonderful after a long winter, then Boom! It Snows.  Many say, "don't get your hopes up. If it is warm it may or may not indicate spring time."

Thing mentioned about how we must hope...

Story of new born twin who was dying until she was put in the incubator with her sister who showed love by putting her arm around her sibling, then because of the love it is believed the baby began thriving. This is likened to us all and how we all need to be loved (thinking of a Morrissey song).

Part of setting example includes actually loving the scriptures and feasting on them.

BoM has power to succor and heal, and we are promised to be immunized against things of the world.

A person left church 25 years ago. Is now, returning, and expressed a desire to attend the temple.

Why do we pray? Helps us be aware and exercise faith. Exercising faith prepares us to grow a fine tree.

Sometimes when things happen and cause us to struggle, we can know that they are for our own good.

Just as we judqge other's abilities by how they appear, people judge how fit we are to be Latter-day Saints. Maybe others do not come because they will not be accepted.

I am thankful for the preisthood and that others are worthy a man blessed his child and mentioned that he was being a conduit for a loving father in Heaven. He made me wish I could be blessed again, fully understanding what was,being said and as I thought about my Pat. Blessing and the idea came to me that as I live I may very well feel like I want more words, and many scriptures (especially in the d&c become vicariously applicable to me, so, maybe I could benefit indirectly or vicariously by listening to words spoken to others from Him. My mind was racing from one scenario to the next for scenarios when I could hear some scripture entirely missing what was being said. I guess that is pretty common. We are all usually not ready to comprehend our blessings as they happen. Like is often said about baptism.. what wouldn't we give to have that opportunity again, but we totally take that sacrament we just partook for granted. Then, one lady mentioned wishing that she could get ger baby blessing again, then realized that it was as if she could vicariously! Ah hah! There was great truth that I was intended to understand although the baby might not. Most notably,  a reminder to accept things that are for my good even though at the time they may perplex me

Integrity is behavoir that is morally right regardless of what is currently popular.

Do what we profess... simply put, it is being honest, so you act as you know and profess.

People will be tempted to act in a way contrary to what we believe. Do What is right, regardless of the consequence.

Having integrity allows freedom, because you have nothing to hide...it is perfect confidence in ourselves.

Russian nesting dolls represent finding our inner child.

When looking closely at the dolls. She was choosing which represented each and as she chose the primary dolls she noticed that there were more nested inside! This reminded me of Carl Sagan saying in a film how things go on forever and ever in any direction or how my Astronomy professor told us that if the universe was finite no matter where we looked we would see a star.

Service mission is misunderstood.
