Gifts of Christmas

The divine gift of repentance.

Parable of the pudding cup. As a kid she thought it was the best desert compared to a half of a browned Apple, not even sure if it has any pudding. But, expected to be great, it is easy and instant, but instead of a three layer chocolate cake. We compare that pudding cup to the cake that must be waited for but requires a lot of work.

When we love, really love someone, that is an expression of love.

Part of repentance requires that me make a commitment.

When we see something so beautiful we forget what we went through. Though Satan tries to make it seem like the trial is it an we will always remember it. But, the story told about a member of the Donner party. We get to experience the great joy of regular repentance and that is what will last.

Gift of forgiveness -

First word : let go, peace, happiness, Jesus Christ, harder than it seems.

There are things that we endure, that very few will have to. And they survived.

Story the epitome forgiveness was the story of the Amish and the milkman.

And story of 44 yr old woman was nearly killed by a frozen turkey. What an awesome opportunity she had!

Discouraged is worse than sick, from It's a Wonderful Life.

Missionaries still have their missionary halo.

Tuesday 14 time management and organization.

Next week time changes to 9am

Bednar's talk about Faith.
Joseph asked which to join not which was true.

Do not pray to ask the missionaries to do our work, but be willing to work ourselves.

We are nervous about sharing with our friends out of a fear of rejection. But, we ought not fear but go ahead and act, because those who we fear to offend will be offended, but will respect us.

We do not do more than invite. The spirit teaches.

Life event usually makes a person more receptive to the gospel much like those who need the atonement to fix something will grasp the significance.

A sister mentioned how things happened one step at a time.

Sometimes, a field is not ready to harvest, but we can "sew the seeds".

Hastening the work we can show others how we love them.

People wonder and think a great deal about why they are loved. And we build trust when we love them.

Action. Pray to know what to do. That is what Joseph Smith prayed about.

Most of us, We do not need to ask if the church is true, or false.

Cinderella all put right

This morning we reached Cinderella 3 and to me every problem that I had with the original tale was fixed, and who is our powerful hero? A bird, a mouse? No, superman. Ha ha ha, no actually it was the most powerful magic of all true love. It was not the wand or the appearance of anything, but a suggested touch of the hand was more powerful magic than any conjured by a wand.

Go to Temple on Monday.

Moral force of women.

Relief Society Lesson -

I said that I was prepared, but now I feel inadequate.

Faith, empathy that is unique to women.

Sacrificed for greater goals with out thinking about it. Love personified.

We all feel inadequate caring for our children and we may be, but at least we love them.

A mother can exert an unparalleled influence.

What happens in cradles and kitchens will make more difference than things that happen in congress.

Life does change, keep the tone happy. And mistakes are common, it will come to pass.

Cultivate the power within us. Regardless of your age or state. You influence is detrimental to society as a whole.

Reducing mothers as less significant, but her influence is greater than any ability to influence in any other position.

There has been a double standard where men can be promiscuous but women are to be perfectly loyal. And equality worked to ruin families by encouraging women to be as promiscuous.

There are enough women who are like men, tough and seeking fame when together they have to be complimentary. Women need to be soft and sweet, not like it.

Men hold the preisthood, they are not the priesthood.

Asked about why you have to stay home with children when they are teens and it was answered  that's why.

My greatest talent

I had been reviewing my undeniable greatest talent. And it is newly discovered, again. Faith. I can fully believe a thing if I really want to. My greatest obstacle is not accepting that the things considered impossible Infact are, it is fear that I do not understand why it has been made Impossible and my causing it as a result of faith ( the evidence of things hoped for) is not going to have acceptable consequences. So, perhaps it may be better if I don't focus my thoughts on it anyway.

But, I already planted that seed and imagine it will grow. And I will just have to deal with any unforcasted consequences as they arise. It will be worth it.

Obama

Most of the time I start by explaining the origin of the thought. because that is my favorite part. In an interview I heard someone explain how the only way to explain how the seemed to be the voice of the age, or to me loudly declaring the pulse of the world, they said, "All I know is that I like it."

But, I already spent an entire paragraph just to say that I am going to leave it up to you to sort out how I came to this thought. How a thought occurs is often my favorite part.

My thought is that maybe Obama is actually helping Americans by leveling out the wealth. It is true that most were extremely wealthy by standards of the rest of the world. And he is just experiencing the backlash of uncomfortable constiuants(sp?) There are fewer poor because the standard of living has been so lowered to make lower class feel acceptable. This is a pretty liberal idea.

Why I chose composition

Well, I pretty much have too much to say about this, but I will give you the origin, which will explain why it is an appropriate Christmas thought.

I was baking cookies and listening to the movie the kids were watching "Barney: The Night Before Christmas". The part that struck me as significant and I started to think about why was that Santa wanted to know who thought of the idea to give him gifts. Mind you the origin of the idea was not the doer of the task, I had thought all parts equal and assignments fitted for the assignee. Me? I realized while I was studying music that I was a creator not a performer or director, etc. So, I wanted to be the one who had the ideas and I wanted to study how to transcribe them in a way that they could be enjoyed by others.

What I learned

What I learned and what was taught often varies a great deal, maybe it is because we see what we want to. I was happy when others tried to help beautiful me, but they at first made me feel horrible, like I was seen as someone to be pitied. Ends up my confidence soared as they were able to fix me up. But, now, I am hitting something akin to a sugar low after a brief high. I realized naturally, I was beautiful and now with age, if I used the new techniques, I could remain beautiful, but it sort of goes against my whole person who avoided appearing different than was natural. Also, they work to allow me to be beautiful, and I appreciate it, but it takes too much time. I cannot maintain it, and the younger me was prettier than any of the person they create, and so I feel it is absolutely not worth it.

I just stare in the mirror and want to be loved for who I am not how I look. That is how I fall in love, too.

Monday, December 16, 2013

Short

In short, I am glad, and want to say it. I am happy that I am insignificant and unknown. I get say and do whatever I want without scrutiny, unlike reality stuff that really could not be natural.

Partial brain dump

“We are all dependent upon Jesus Christ, upon his coming into the world to open the way whereby we might secure peace, happiness, and exaltation.”

Presentation given of the Holy Land changes the demeanor of those speaking of it.

I just remembered that mostly it was the nature of God and how important it is to understand that was thoroughly discussed

God said that he created Adam in his own image and Adam said if his son Seth that he was created in his own image. Jesus Christ was born on earth and so God has a body of flesh and bones.

We were called "God makers" and seen negatively because of this doctrine. But, what parent doesn't want his child to grow up to be an adult, we all will. It is plain.

It has been commented on how hymns really effect us.

Eternal life or Bust.

Enduring to the end equated to "suck it up until further notice."

How did Jesus learn of his mission, which he clearly understood.

I remember at one point I was bearing my testimony of the godhead and became tear and was asked not to cry. Please, ever again, it is very distracting.

Most of the time when we do things we cannot think about the worldly acceptance of the thing.

Exultation is the goal not the destination.

There were so many things said this morning that I felt very strongly. I wrote it down and it was deleted, maybe that is that faith in Jesus Christ overshadow everything much as this lesson is on a higher degree of significance.

Open your mouth and it will be filled.

… I say to the Latter-day Saints, if any of you are sleepy, read the words of the Savior spoken when He was upon the earth in regard to the ten virgins, five of whom were wise, and took oil in their lamps, and when the Bridegroom came there was only one-half prepared to go out to meet Him.

Change

I am not referring to an Exchange of paper money,
"Hey Mister, you got change?"( via UHF) sort of thing, oh I coulda woulda shoulda said "Here's your Nickel back.
Now you got change!" but, my quest is to change my subconscious perception of who I am and what I am capable of. I want it to include being genuinely loved. I have felt it before so I know what I am looking for. I could so easily say too much, but I feel like taking the time to write it will help do it. By it, I mean change.

I wonder what it would feel like to just be.

I know, I know. I already am, but, I am in progress, I would like to arrive. Growing up others often commented on my potential, I was a very hopeful child, but I start to feel like a wandering Israelite. When will I ever be. It feels like I will forever be aiming but never achieving. Maybe I listened to the song "I Can't Grow" by Michael Mclean too much.

I rebuked myself... excuse me

Tastes sour on the ego, but at least I now see it the way it is, instead of feeling not good enough to be in on the little secret or something. I am thinking of a line from Shrek:

I was upset thinking that I obviously was not intelligent or persevering enough because people that I greatly respected saw something that I did not, I searched and searched trying to see what I had missed but ultimately only drawing closer to the same conclusion every time.

Then it hit me, And this ought not be seen as any little thing either though it might get overshadowed by a constant out pouring. There are simply things that I am not supposed to know, and not searching will uncover them, it is a protection, to maintain my peace of mind. With that I wonder well, are others less loved that become disillusioned where I have not? the answer is no. the thing tested is always the same how well we accept the things we don't know, ugh, it is that big ugly word that covers anything misunderstood. I ought to say shrouds. No, not grace, but faith. given what you do know, what do you believe? It tests the character of a person. We all deserve what we get. cause I start to feel sorry for others and think that id only the had the tools that I do, but that know as much as is necessary.

Pause for a thought about Abraham and Sarah. She did not see at the time, but a great blessing of her life was that she was able to be educated by the greatest masters on earth and taught truths that were not available any other place than the pharaoh's schools. So, we have plenty of evidence that things that are not understood are for our good. Our own ignorance is part of it.

Sum up: not knowing things does not mean you are not trusted. And it is not favor or preference to know or not know things it is all about what you esteem most, for some that trial is a death of a loved one, or there is a story regarding someone being asked to give his wife to another. for some it is tithing, others facial hair. In the end it boils down to what do you more than profess to love.

God is aware of our needs as was manifest by a package of old broken up chocolate chip cookies.

We are where we should be if we do what we know is right.

Maybe we should evaluate our gifts.
Sometimes giving no actual gift is the best gift and most value.

I think this year, I will detail what I pray for my children and whatever is received will be best regardless what I give.

AypWhat can we give to Jesus? Use a manager acting out words as it is read from Luke

We will not appreciate the Savior until we need him much like a horse will not drink until he is thirsty.

By the grace of God I am what I am. Corinthians

Baptism qualifies us for celestial kingdom.

Faith in God will enable repentance, and our hearts will be changed.

Book of life kept in Heaven.

Overcome the world in faith. How we overcome things that as mortals beset us.

People who seem to reject the gospel, might not ultimately reject things, they only rejected it during your mission.

Maybe justice is only ulsed with mercy in the final judgement.

Difference between being taught things vs receiving.

Holy ghost is it a singular person does he never have a body? He visit the lowest kingdom are there a endless number of possibilities meaning paths because the Holy Ghost visits how long.

Joseph Smith. Lorenzo Snow spoke well of him, as an associate. His words were trusted as truth from a man of God.

14 yr olds thirst for knowledge. He was an honest young man unfamiliar with the trickery and sophistry of the day:

“I knew Joseph Smith to be an honest man, a man of truth, honor and fidelity, willing to sacrifice everything he possessed, even life itself, as a testimony to the heavens and the world that he had borne the truth to the human family.”

He started out hesitant but ended up strong and one could tell the spirit was strong with him because his strength grew with faith, and it could be felt when he spoke.

He rarely demonstrated annoyance, just the thing I was trying to instill in Joseph my son this morning.

Wrestling like and doing things makes those we esteem as being more human.
(Cont.)
President Monson showed how he wiggled his ears.

Toward the latter part of his life Joseph Smith became a master of strength and influence over his fellows. This fact was brought very vividly to my attention on my return from a mission to Europe. I noticed and even remarked to him that he had changed very much since I last saw him; that he had become stronger and more powerful. He admitted this and said that the Lord had endowed him with additional portions of His Spirit.

An amazing spirit fills the room when he is taught, or when Lorenzo told of shaking his hand.

Teacher visited the Sesquhanah river on mission to PA.

It is because of Joseph Smithand all that he did we have all that we have, which included the instructions today on how to be more Christ centered.

Half way to brilliance

I just saw a brief idea and it remains to be considered fully, but among other nagging it was like that screaming child who causes you to abandon all else for a moment. I stopped thinking to grasp this, and I was afraid that I'd loose it so I jotted this much down right away, though not done.

I think there might be a flow to all being that closely relates all living. I think wise scholars tried to call it the age, and in Final Fantasy it was represented as the lifestream. Many refered to it as providence. Recently in torchwood, they called it morphic fields. I think something similar if not it, is common sense. It is common. So common that maybe we are all part of one being, brothers and sisters of you want to think of it that way...

Braindump

Law of Moses is often thought of as being lower because it is lesser, but it is more preparatory.

Class started with shown photos of the area where Moses and children of Israel journeyed and it is barren and rocky.

Read student manual before making any judicial statement.

We saw in chapter 11 how the Lord began the revelation of the law for Israel with the ten principles that summarized the way in which men are to deal with God, with their families, and with their fellow men. Immediately after the Ten Commandments, the Lord revealed a whole series of laws and commandments which we now call the Mosaic law.
It is unfortunate that many people, some even in the Church, think of the Mosaic law as a substitute for the higher law of the gospel. We call it a lesser law, and so it was, if the word lesser is used in the sense of progressive steps. But some people assume that lesser means of lower importance and significance, or of a lesser level of truth and righteousness. Such is not the case. Note what other scriptures teach about the law:
The law of Moses was a “preparatory gospel” that included the principles of repentance, baptism, remission of sins, and the law of carnal commandments.

Chapter 21 on is an explanation of judicial law or case law. Like ten commandments "thou shalt not" seems negative. But, actually, laws make us free.

Law of Moses which included animal sacrifice and the amount they endured the idea is that it gives is freedom.

We are blessed to have agency or as we see it as maturity.

They were raised to be told exactly what to do, and being on their own was very hard so they likely appreciated the law given to help them reach repentance which is the path to exultation.

Interesting detail and explanation of law based on actual case.

Although a father could arrange for the marriage of his daughter (that is the meaning of the phrase “to sell her as a maidservant” in verse 7, as is evident from the betrothal mentioned in verses 8 and 9), she too maintained certain rights. The prospective husband could not use her as a slave (“she shall not go out as the menservants do”). If the prospective husband was not pleased with the new bride, the law guaranteed her rights. This legal guarantee was in sharp contrast to the practice of most other people whose women were viewed as property to be bargained away at the whim of men.

Sorcery was fully explained as a serious trouble in Egypt. Of a widow is neglected he will be destroyed by a sword by the Lord, Woah!

It is important to read the Joseph Smith Translations or we might believe something totally unintended. Like our auto correct, can entirely change the meaning of a thing.

Crop sabbatical was mentioned. This was likened to crop rotation, science now shows us that it is needed for the soil.

Do not mix meat with dairy. Part of Kosher law.

8 ¶And thou shalt take no gift: for the gift blindeth the wise, and perverteth the words of the righteous.

I don't get that.

All of the children of Israel could have seen God face to face, but only few were because they kept not his commandments.

Book of the Covenant is possibly the things included in the book of Exodus.

Symbolism of the blood Moses held back on a bowl is the portion which is God's. But, that part that is sprinkled on the alter represents that which we give. How does this fit the symbolism of put sacrament.

Even as they worked on the temple they kept the Sabbath as a perpetual covenant forever.

We need to be examples because that is how it is done like God who set the example when he created all things.

The Lord wanted to bless them, but the children of Israel did not obey.

Why did Aaron do the thing in making an alter.

It is slightly different in Hebrew.

Typical to portray the throne of God as an animal. So, this is what Aaron was doing. It was a mistake.

Those who are seen as righteous and emulated sometimes make mistakes.

We speculate. But we only know what Moses saw.

They were going to all be killed. The scripture that the Lord repented. Please, look up the foot note.

Maybe Aaron was well intended. But, he followed peer pressure and did not speak up, and this is a sin in Exodus 23 ¶Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil;

Moses pleads for the sake of the others and offers his own life.

**It is difficult to explain to people things that they have never have.**

Object lesson of having to choose what you cannot see. Her daughter was told that she would be able to get several chocolate bars, with the money, but she still chose the chocolate (reminds me of dad talking about what we want vs what we want right now) it may not be we do not understand because we are not mature enough or smart enough, but it might be like Brother Poll said yesterday about how we understand things may be different. And some people value their time too much, most people when given a time constraint will value helping another differently than if it is not hard on them.

Joseph Smith said it was very important that we realize that we can talk to God face to face.

Moses emitted light from his face the sculpture by Michelangelo Jerome translated similar root word to say Moses had horns and so his work of art had horns.

There is a new law on the tablets and this is the lesser law. Instead of Mel and temple laws they got more ceremonial rites. Christ fulfilled it all so we have the fullness of what was initially given.

If you do not get things right you will be given a new opportunity until you get it right.

Like law of Moses is a different law, like a different teacher but the lessons are the same. I think this is the same thing I have noticed the huge gap between Utah People and Mississippi.

Our difference is not superior, like our laws some of them are as basic and seem restrictive

Braindump

We will be starting a new subject after the Holidays, it will be the Old Testament.

Eternal marriage is fundamental purposeful our creation. So finding our love is extremely significant almost the most important reason to live, it puts things into perspective, as to what matters when our struggles are fruitless towards that end.

From the book "I told him I remained Mormon because when I followed my religion I became the kind of man I want to be. - Richard L Bushman.

There are many teachers available... Keep in mind.

What I learned about John C Benet was that he was trying to recreate himself and no one knew of a past he left, but it still found him leaving him to be something that he wasn't. It reminds me of that line from Cowboys & Aliens where the dying old man says, "God don't care who you were, but who you are now."

A leader in the church could not sum up the reasonable way to explain plural marriage.

Sensation of many who know less and make claims that are far less informed. But, it makes me think of the author who said that they did not publish right away although it would no doubted well received, but another just published using the same title of his manuscript.

Joseph leapt on every revelation but hesitated on plural marriage.

I think of a story about someone being commanded to give his wife. And it became a sort of Abraham test of what is loved most and OT turned out that they obeyed and gave up their wife and then at the last minute it was not required.

Emma said no way but that it would need to be revealed to her too. And that is the way it happened.

The day will come when people will know undeniably what is true.

Heber Kimball would not tell his wife, but she found put from God herself. This tells me that it is true, it reminds me of how Mary did not have to explain things to Joseph because the Lord told him too.

He talks about David as having used plural marriage incorrectly and he was excommunicated, Hang on! Isn't Solomon the progenitor of the Savior? These words, "...lost his exultation as a result."

Even if you are sealed in the temple after 40 years of marriage they admitted it, and had to do it over under the proper authority. This is what I need to tell my children, Sealing must be done properly and under the direction of the church.

There have never been more women than men in the church.

My youth conference where it was obvious to me that if I wanted to continue progressing I had to find someone, anyone to be sealed to.

I am impressed that though I am not married to my first husband I am still sealed so I need to be worthy to be in the Celestial place then Wether or not I am with him forever.

Well, people are still allowed to be married to more than one person, eternally opposed to the legalities today.

Majority present raised their hands to show that they were dependants of a plural marriage.

Maybe, it was suggested, that these issues are part of the winning process.

We need not believe ourselves so great that we would not succumb to such things as "stalwart" members do.

We will be dealing more detailed with the martydom next week.

Woman Understood and felt the church was true, but could not make sense of plural marriage. Later became 7th wife and mother of Heber J. Grant.
Her family wanted her to come back and away from that cult.

Honestly, I'm confused

I want to be prettier, but actually do not have a good reason for it. Without thinking, I compare being attractive to the opposite sex like being wealthy, and upon consideration I cannot come up with a reason that fits with my other truths, so either I toss all of them out, or admit that there is no good reason to want to be prettier. Intact, previously, I decided that being too cute would attract too much of the wrong attention, like how I decided that I never actually wanted fame or popularity until I am dead but would prefer an ease of life. Some examples are Garth Brooks or even Miley Cyrus I bet if studied popularity effects the body like drugs or alcohol. Some people can sample it and then decide what they will, but I value the freedom offered by prejudicely deciding that I will have no part and I do not know that I can just flirt with such power.

Maybe it is unrelated, but I love the scene from the movie "Anonymous" where the earl of Oxford recognizes the power of words to influence popular opinion.

But, with a larger perspective even winning peer support seems pointless.

To sum it all up, we ought to be in the world not of it. So, things like popular support and their currency matter almost nothing, except that the ten commandments weigh heavily in on our associations and relationships with others.

So, wanting to be pretty is pretty useless. Nevertheless, I want it.

Ward Christmas party 13th.

Gen Christmas broadcast coming up soon.

Testimony of church and so that includes all prophets, and the power of the priesthood and all who own the keys.

Sister Johnson thanked others and hoped that she would not do anything to detract from her husbands happiness.

Death is graduation.

Gratitude is the evidence of an old soul.

I thought that I had no inclination to bear my testimony, but the spirit had other ideas.

Thankful for eternal families and all of the guidelines our church gives us.

I am amazed at how many women are able to bear their testimonies or do things because they have a husband who faithfully takes care of the children.

Children come to us but not with playback, we are like doctors we practice a lot.

Jesus came willingly, and did what he did because he loved us.

I love,my family which includes my sister, basically she is my family, well, she is. Sometimes I hate her, but I do love her, and am so thankful for her.

What we do now will be paid back to us and our loved ones, although it cannot be understood or explained, it must just be accepted.

When a lady came here from Haiti came here this ward literally was their family.

Repenting faith is exercised for future events. The trial comes after the trial of our faith.

Mountain moving faith is the one kind that is powerful and unaltering.

Intentions. We might be able to do a whole lot better that what we are capable of.

Another person mentioned how we as latter-day  are not very comforting because we always seem not good enough.

It is important to not compare ourselves to eachother.

Speculated then was stopped. And we went to scriptures

Think of ways that money can be used in a more productive way since we will have peace.

We will know things during the millennium.

We only use 10% of our brain so that we can learn all the things that we will learn in the millennium.

So we will all actually be there.

It is the grand finally for Satan to have his last try to get things his way.

Christ's birth is celebrated in December though he was born in April.

An angel appeared to Joseph which was gracious because she would suffer much from being misunderstood, as an  unmarried woman.

He was born in the middle of a courtyard. Seems inapproriate for a child of God his greatest beloved.

When I went to the temple and I was not only able to be free from the cares of the world but I was overcome with the awesome and hopeful feelings that filled me as a gift. I knew that it was the Lord showing me how we need to focus on what we could have instead of what we face and try to make that a reality.

Story about woman who learned that being thankful and making changes in her life although she was healthy already. But it was not a drug or mortal knowledge but gratitude that helped her.

Woman was thankful for so many prayers but did not think it was responsible for her blessings.

Thanksgiving

Thinking about my gratitude journal today, as well as my new year resolutions, and somehow that lead me to the reason for the abnoxious use of swear words and how the fact that they are too commonly used will likely lead to their demise, like punctuation. I pontificated on why they are used and came up with some pretty good stuff, but mostly,my big happening was figuring out my single wish. It is more of a preparation for Christmas, but having seen a movie regarding the macabian miracle of hanukah, I lumped all the Holidays of the season in one. Today is one of them.

I just carried a lug up to his bed, that will have to count for my cardiovascular for the last 24hour period. I really want to make it part of my life. Nothing too strenuous or frightening, but through small doable increments I will hopefully improve my health and increase my life span, uh make that the length of enjoyable life span. I do not want to life very long miserable and suffering.

I am thankful for the present and my health and today, my lack of backpain. I hate it when I am tired but it hurts to lay down. I am so thankful for my beautiful children, especially Lena, who was born today 12 years ago. What an awesome thing!

Spirituals and hymns

I was watching a movie where people were singing hymns. I have always thought that song is a powerful tool, it communicates something more than words and I have noticed that where there is a love of music there is as much wisdom and love.

Teens use music to set moods and even to communicate one to another. I remember a movie scene where a person was not easily found at a train station so they sang a song that would only be recognized by the party they sought. It worked. I used to teach my siblings their entire address by setting it to music. I still know each address as well as our original phone number which my mother sang to us.

Regarding teens use of music, it becomes something that they almost need, sort of to fill in anything they lack, a lot like gangs or drugs do. I noticed that others sing words that they simply must convey. Isn't that what a spiritual is afterall? I noticed the hymns being sung were more than words set to music.

"The Lord speaks to us in a way we understand, and I guess I speak teenager." Sister Wood

Pointed out the difference between assignments that are done or are a process.

I see myself in my students but I never let them know because I am all mature and stuff.

A wonderful analogy of people in a congregation to students in a classroom.

Her mother is very wise, though she feels inadequate compared to women at church who all have degrees and such.

Our bodies, though not understood fully the role eternally, but we cannot trade it in, we need to practice preventative measures to keep our "temple"in perfect shape.

Story of a man who ended up on an entirely different path than what he intended, but this morning he fufilled his mission of returning to the church which was a goal from when he was excommunicated, but it just never happened. He started out well, but It is obvious that his downfall was the same as what he learned from this choice, that is not valuing what he ought, and procrastinating the thing that ought be done.

It is important to note that as he took steps to be rebaptized he was  "encircled by arms of Love". The love of the Savior as it filled the room of the high council this morning.

Look for opportunities to show love for others
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

The Lord concluded his parable of Good samaritan with the commandment to go and do likewise.

When we had our own disaster people had problems themselves
They went to help others.

"My family is awesome. Who wouldn't want to be with them?"

It seems that people come alive and relate to love and doing good to others. I have noticed that people look more beautiful as well when they serve others. It seems better therapy, than any beauty treatmeant to be positive and look for the good and verbalize it in others.

Why is the Second Coming important in our everyday lives?

It will be a big deal probably bigger.

We want to be a part of it because it is such a big deal. Wether or not it happens in our time we are to do work in preparation for it.

1) cleanse
2) judge
3) millenium
4) first ressurection
5) takes his place as king.

Even during the millennium people will need the gospel and to bee baptized.

The Lord will set up his political government, and reign. The church will be a part of it. Very much like the paper I wrote in government called "The most perfect union"

Relief Society
Thank you for the compassionate service, which is natural for women, I suppose.

Next week fast for the missionaries.

Had wipes but after setting them down said, "These are not part of my lesson."

A friend lost a baby and it made me want to hold my babies closer even if they were throwing up on me.

Felt inadequate because of being the youngest.

**Prepared and not overwhelmed.**

Significant or subtle blessings from Tithing.

It is good to keep a record of finances will help us note or learn from Tithing.

How the Lord always keeps how word, and if we want his blessings, we will do everything he asks.

Maybe paying Tithing is the secret to get our blessing.

This lesson itself is a testimony. Because, of the thing I prayed this morning, I feel strongly that it would be a better blessing to get peace of mind than money.

A last honestly thought that her husband would be struck by lightening, actually when he did not pay it.

Opened up the Windows on resturant to celebrate made her consider the use of the word window.

We have to give to get, it is making room.

For example, a subtle but significant blessing we receive is the spiritual gift of gratitude that enables our appreciation for what we have to constrain desires for what we want.

There are many things that are difficult, but possible. This was thought when the teacher told several times going to things at temple square, and the great lessons being there gave her.

"testify spiritual and temporal blessings come into our lives as we live the law of tithing. I bear witness that such blessings often are significant but subtle. I also declare that the simplicity of the Lord’s way that is so evident in the temporal affairs of His Church provides patterns that can guide us as individuals and as families. I pray each of us may learn and benefit from these important lessons, in the sacred name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen."

Just ask

I am perplexed. I want to give my children what they want to the point that I have considered some pretty greuling feats, then my ideas turned to first my husband, but I did not want to burden him in anyway, so I thought of my parents. Maybe, I could ask for my Christmas gift early in cash. I even looked into selling everything I owned but, then, I had a realization. Didn't I have a heavenly father who owns everything anyway and he tells me to ask if I need anything. It would be like asking someone for a ride who is headed in my direction anyway.

It feels harder to ask but the giver will not consider it an imposition at all, in fact in the case of the ride as well as well as prayer, the one being asked is actually very happy and wants to help, to feel needed is an awesome gift to give someone.

But, I also thought that if I truly trusted in my God that I would have  the peace of knowing that whatever happens it will be best, like not being able to buy the expensive things they really want, I would be able to tell them that Heavenly Father knew best what they needed and apparently he did not think they really needed that, but has provided the best gift, not the wanted one necessarily.

Scouting from our openhouse

This was just another file I needed to erase so here is goes:

Boys are full of potential blaze, scouting provides the spark.
Along with that metaphor is the fact that the fire needs to be directed and be within a boundery of a rock fire pit or something or it will potentially cause damage.

Braindump

“We cannot break the Ten Commandments. We can only break ourselves against them—or else, by keeping them, rise through them to the fulness of freedom under God. " (Commencement Address, Brigham Young University Speeches of the Year, Provo, 31 May 1957.)

Find out what your family knows about the commandments.

We must be prepared for persecutions for what we believe, this includes the basic ten commandments.

Hillbilly 10 Commandments

It was so revealing when people were interviewed and did well regarding pop culture but did not even know the ten commandments let alone keep them.

They can be grouped into two groups.

1 love God
2 love others

There was a talk about how ten commandments were all explained to having been all about our relationships.

It is debated where Sinai is, like that video I saw. About there is no physical proof or location with evidence of the children of Israel were there.

The Lord keeps all of his promises, unfailingly.

Interesting the trip is likened to mortal trip of man from traversing Red Sea (Baptism) to Canaan
(Heaven).

D&C 84

21 And without the ordinances thereof, and the authority of the priesthood, the power of godliness is not manifest unto men in the flesh;
22 For without this no man can see the face of God, even the Father, and live.
23 Now this Moses plainly taught to the children of Israel in the wilderness, and sought diligently to sanctify his people that they might behold the face of God;
24 But they hardened their hearts and could not endure his presence; therefore, the Lord in his wrath, for his anger was kindled against them, swore that they should not enter into his rest while in the wilderness, which rest is the fulness of his glory.

Hebrews 8:10

Whatever man loves most and puts his trust in is God. When a man falters or falls it is because,he placed his trust/hope in the arm of flesh.

The traditional family is no longer the norm, it is a matter of placing our priorities as God first, which was a commandment originally given first that we need to love God first, and then let things fall where they may, all else will work out.

God is Jealous. See footnote 5a He has Deep Feelings for us.

Show love best by doing.

61 Wherefore, let all men beware how they take my name in their lips
62 For behold, verily I say, that many there be who are under this condemnation, who use the name of the Lord, and use it in vain, having not authority.

Taking name in vain means that we will speak our hearts and not be false with our words.

It is important to also teach about the happiness or joy that comes from keeping a commandment. Like how John Groberg said in a quote that it would help.

A man's family ought to know by his life that he is Christian.

Honor is something that is absorbed by the way we do something.

We have been assigned as having parents that we have. Even if we donor think they are good, we need to obey our parents.

No adultery. It breaks down the building blocks of the nation, do it is sort of unpatriotic. Or nothing like it. Christ taught that we should not even think such things.  I think letting a harmless thought in, sometimes it grabs a hold of an idea.

Story about a stolen pen that said, this pen was stolen from:

Covet in Hebrew means to desire. If we can keep that one, all of the others will be kept.

Commandments are not a suggestion.

Most are self denying "Thou shalt not..." Which is a choice to be less selfish.

How do rules make us free?
Gives you a moral compass.

Comment about Japan reminds me of FT CC Honor. There is something to be said for self governing.

"Maybe we should all move to Japan."

Consequence of not keeping commandments will not let them keep the gift of the Holy Ghost.

People saw great power of the Lord. But, Moses says, "Fear not".

Isreal wanted God to talk to Moses and not to us. We likewise have our own doubts, but God really want to be approachable "Come unto me." But, Satan likes to play on our mortal tendency to back away from what we fear.

This is childish, but not teachable. We shy away from something great. Like the great and terrible day of the Lord.

Natural alters of rock, then man made alters become a lesser law.

"Rather than be ruled by man's love we should be ruled by God's love."
Cecil DeMille

These commandments are lesser and easier laws because a higher law could not be kept, heck those ten could not be kept.

The Lord desires more, this is not enough.

As she typed it made me capitilize the ten commandments and would it not be incredible if we capitalized it in our lives.

Braindump

To understand Nauvoo we need to understand the followers comitment to the person who respresented the Lord. They got confused and equated the Lord with Joseph Smith.

But, it was the Lord instructed the prophet/people who came to Utah.

City was allowed to have a millitia and it was a third the size of the united states. Illinois allowed that.

Million dollar temple? Look up to know the rest of the story behind such claim.

Families had much hardship
Because of being dedicated and serving the church.

It is hard for Joseph Smith to run a store cause either he was too, businessmanlike or too easy to rip off for the sake of being such a great Christlike guy.

John Wentworth asked for a written document of history.

There has been mention of changing the articles of Faith.

4th section of D&C. Standard of truth.
1 Now behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.
2 Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.
3 Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;
4 For behold the field is white already to harvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul;
5 And faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work.
6 Remember faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, diligence.
7 Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen.

Written the Wentworth letter for the purpose of writing a history of Vermont.

Relief society formed in Brick Storehouse, and remember a story about Sarah Grainger Kimball. ( the lady who wanted to help the temple workers...)

What power is retained after death?

I recall a strange story about someone claiming that they were Joseph Smith reincarnated, or other prophets. That must've been common in Jesus' time because of the story of learned men and a potential explination was a reincarnated prophet of old. Something had been taught to make then believe that.

Remember the poem and story that goes with it . Penned by Phelps and corrected...

the initiatory given in red brick store before they had a temple.

D&C 129
The way to know spirit types, why was this knowlegde seen as important?

Satan cannot do anything. You cannot be tempted above which Ye can bear.

Satan cannot tempt children before accountability.

Jesus has not died a second time, he is not a personage of spirit.

Write a book, it is useful and desired, about time.

We have angels assigned to this earth. Not random messengers of God.

Talk about white stone, talk about guilty verdict. But, it reminds me of the song by Enya on LOTR. "Into the west"

When does the Savior return?

Joseph Smith and Abraham Lincoln had same idea to do away with slavery. Makes sense because of the light of Christ, or Holy Ghost can be with many at once.

Funfact: Abraham Lincoln had a Book of Mormon.

We do not have to worry about justice, no one will be treated or judged unjustly, or get away with anything. As the needs be a post mortal world to mere out justice, so there necessarily was before this world. We are eternal beings afterall. This idea is founded in the 130th section. Principle of intelligence scripture mastery.

The degrees of glory, " what is the middle? It is the hang out place... You can see but cannot touch... Not doctine, but I like it."

Joseph Smith wrote letters to each of the presidential canidates  regarding what they would do for his sect but most did not reply and the rest were not satisfactory, so he decided to run himself.

Section 131 is summed up by article of faith 10.
Was intended to be at the end of the book of commandments. Written 2 days after section 1.

Lectures of faith was originally included before 19 2something. Version of the D&C.

*We are a church of immersion, not just in baptism.*

"I would gladly trade all I know for all I do not know."

It was humorous how he responded to several questions/comments saying they were so good and he was glad to hear them. Then the one he said, " I don't know. " and that was considered a bad question because he couldn't answer it. :)

Brain dump needs to be revisited

We do not love the servants, but the savior himself, ministering where ever we may, as we seek the Lord's spirit we will serve and it will be felt.

It is important that people claim so much later the Joseph actually did and saw what he did and said.

The talk is built upon fodder received from a hymn.

If the Lord has not returned, there will be a new stake president.

Things I remembered that my daughter erased:

In interview as a man was called he was asked the percentage of folk who are active. It was 59%. Years later,he was interviewed again and reported the same number. The moral was that it was evident anyone could serve that group, but the real task was to find an serve the percentage that was not there.

Be careful what you ask the people of this stake to do because they will do it, and enthusiastically so, except home teaching. J/k.

When the new presidency was called the stake president raised his hand in objection to the new call, but quickly clarified his support.

The former president's wife said, "if you are a boy try to emulate him and if you are a girl try to be worthy of a man such as him." She says the best thing of her whole life is in being worthy and able to find and marry such a man.

I was impressed by how people can give such excellent sermons about things that only just happened, so no script was used.

Parable of sower was spoken of a lot in receding to Davis County as being a great place to raise children, as it is fertile soil, I was also reminded how I grew despite my soil and feel it a blessing and a sort of rest to be here. It feels a lot like heaven.

Both the former and current presidents spoke about their profound testimonies of the mantle and the power of Jesus is felt in this church.

President Wright told of his impression of just walking into a room with elder Andersen and elder Laing.

President Gilleland actually felt the mantle of his call depart.

Elder Laing reitterated how it was the Lord's will that this new presidency be called and it was all done according to his will.

Braindump

At the begining before a word was spoken, the congregation stood out of respect shown for the attending and presiding authority.

As you know... Does everyone else know more than most, it must have to do with the upbringing because so much they seem to know, like it is obvious.

Our topic as assigned by the prophet. Hastening the work.

We will be those who see the birth of a new age of intense focus, generating momentum.

Section 84:88
88 And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up.

Story about a visit where no one was there, but they visited neighbor who listened and invited
Them in and was baptized this morning.

Testimony that this is his church.

Wife knew that this was where her husband needed to be.

Napkin joke?

He was grateful to speak again because he got a chance to bear his testimony again.

Story about being in the philipines. When he asked what they were about it was told that they were monitoring and finding every saint.
All of the missionaries survived. It was likely a miracle that none were harmed. The were recalled to other areas.

A new mission call, it is like starting over, nohesitation, no faltering of the people who will go forward. The worth of souls is great in the sight of God.

We are like those if we get a new call we need to not falter, it is the Lords work and it is being hastened.

Hearts are being softened, story about a guy who was a former gang member.

I know exactly how an apetizer feels.
Only 2 times revelation is instant patriarch, and when stake president is called.

7 Behold, you have not understood; you have supposed that I would give it unto you, when you took no thought save it was to ask me.
8 But, behold, I say unto you, that you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right.

that assuredly as the Lord liveth, who is your God and your Redeemer, even so surely shall you receive a knowledge of whatsoever things you shall ask in faith, with an honest heart, believing that you shall receive a knowledge concerning the engravings of old records, which are ancient, which contain those parts of my scripture of which has been spoken by the manifestation of my Spirit.
2 Yea, behold, I will tell you in your mind and in your heart, by the Holy Ghost, which shall come upon you and which shall dwell in your heart.
3 Now, behold, this is the spirit of revelation;

Everyone has a position to play on the team, and might envy others, but we will be glad to be where we are doing what we are wanted to do. God knows our talents and though our guidelines are the same, we ought to and can do things differently.

It feels like I have been answered when I am sure there are so many others with various questions and prayers in their hearts, too but they are being helped, too.

There is a unique spirit that accompanies the Saturday night session.

The words at conference are meant to guide and lead us properly until the next time we are instructed.

The secret of what will pull through anything we must endure, like heart braking sorrow will be clinging to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Allow ourselves to be refined and remain cheerful regardless.

He will remain constant in our lives.

We truly need the Lord in happiness and in sorrow.

Bottom line is have faith do what the Lord wants. Each opportunity makes you stronger though at the begining you might naturally feel weak or poor.

Sister Naumenn contrasted how we love one another in our stake opposed to how in a ward she visited it almost seemed like others did not love because they were not welcomed.

Elder Andersen told a story but kept reigning it back to the exact spot that he led off.

A guy who knew Elder Maxwell said, that he didn't think that he would ever come back in this life.

Our hastening of the work mist be seen in a larger view or picture. To teach others well enough that they will know a thing is true after death. An example  of those taught well and then left the church was told of a guy who was dying of cancer and asked for a blessing.

Sunday braindump

Stake confrence next week

Court of honor boys

24 Christmas lights 6pm

Dec 13 Christmas Party

Remember Brother Johnson in prayers.

Returned Missionary from Brisbane talks about Shepherds.

Home teaching is the way the Lord Shepherds families.

Think about what more we could do for our families for the Lord. It might not be what we think.

President Monson's talk became an example of how foremost we need to be friends.

Missionaries were assigned as Hometeachers in a ward that had more inactive members.

People do not care how much you know as how much they want to know how much you care.

Story about a Brother Hopper who required long long term friendship.

Do not ask for more people to teach when there are too many that are not coming but already know. Their focus changed to helping lost sheep. And they learned that just one person has more influence.

One person is tied to so many. The number is massive due to the lack of faithfulness of one person.

Heavenly Father wants that one person back, that one person that comes to mind. The Lord loves as much if not more than you do.

Last stake executive preisthood meeting this morning, expressed

10am on Sunday.

Will be a webcast of conference

Hastening of work for living and the dead. The amount of temples 170. It has been prophesized that temples would dot the earth. Then the age drop, the are the effect of prayers and faith of those here. Definately hastening. Among dead, too. He works in Family History, and told how it was working.

Born Bhudist but sought more, but went with a protestant friend and did not feel the presence of God, but a man had a vision of a true church and sought it out, then found it in real life and went in and told the librarian that he wanted to join the church.

Hometeaching is more than just fufilling a required duty. It is about being a true shepherd or in other words friends.

I just thought this: I long to be one of those who sat at the Savior's feet, and I will, no doubt get to, but every single talk or moment I get to in every meeting at the Lord's church, it is all about perspective like the story of the musician who played as a street musician and no one listened he mad about 32 dollars while his professional cd and concerts made him so much money.

2nd coming
Terrible things

So many good things, as well.

The speed of things is so extremely fast right now, like the Berlin wall fell instantly.

We live in a momentous time.

Godhead was a hingepin for gospel going forth.

Legrand Richards uniquely spoke and had to be reminded to sit down.
He said that the world had diverged so much from true Christianity, that Christ might not even recognize it.

66 conference talk by Benson reveals, to signal.

We should be as wise as serpents but as harmless as doves.

People might have bad news, but we have a hope and a flip side, something to counter that.

So many people are searching but they do not know.

It was shocking that it was and is not published and well known that the Lord's Actual church is on the earth. Like the man who posed as a street musician people do not listen to the gospel.

Comming of Elijah, so that families could be together, that happened when Joseph Smith lived.

The arcticle of faith had, been altered from saying "this American continent" to just "the American continent".

Knowing the signs can help us.

"I do not know, but if I did I would not tell you."direct words of Savior.

Many people have seen the Lord in the temple. Woodruff saw him in Salt Lake at the Drinking fountain.

It is always better to be informed.

RS
Activity coming up on Wednesday

Tithing settlement in December.

I have had an undeniable sort of revelation that I ought to ask someone something. So do it!

17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God.

Lesson is doing good to others.

"I would love to hear how he lamented." But it turns out the guy that he helped the previous day when he could not help. Because, he said that one kindness inturn earns you a blessing. Then there was a scripture about it so one could expect good if you do Good, but it will better to serve others because you desire or have mercy towards others.

It was significant to note how the missionaries in the movie "Satirical Approach" where the guy gives his little monologue about how your mind wanders and you start thinking more about your captors than your own self. Almost everything our teacher talks about is revelant to that movie.

Every time we decide to watch things instead of what we should. We are deciding to make others do more. Because things must be done, especially right things.

When we visit teach others they may become lifelong friends.

Everybody needs something. No One has everything is all together.

Things we give to others might be asked, if it is really worth it. But the worth of a soul is priceless.

We always have a network of help, we need not take on the workday ourselves.

Our hapiness increases as we increase others' happiness.

I really really really want to help, and I do not know what to do, but God knows what to do. And will orchestrated it if I ask.

Our teacher explained that you fake loving things and at this concert she pretended to like to go but, she really only loved her neice and that was her motivation.

Even if out of our comfort zone the time will come and it will be worth it.

Braindumps explained

These are notes that I take digitally but cannot store on my phone, but I do not want to delete them. Now, they have become a habit.

Braindump

Moses was used as a symbol of a good prophet, even the savior is called "one like moses"

Wonderful handout comparing their physical journey to our spiritual journey.

Both were delivered as infants. Cool symbolism.

Greek meaning departure.

Over 400 years have past since Joseph, and the pharoah no longer remembers them.

Hebrews were multiplying so Hebrews were to throw male babies into water.

Moses' mother nursed till 5 so she had time to teach him. She was also very resourceful. She had to be inspired to do thoughtfully. It would be hard to place a child in the water and trust that it will float.

All mothers must have faith and act upon inspiration though the things required might be difficult.

Righteous women have immesurable influence.

Now, there will no longer be seperate for Young Women, and Relief Society annual meetings, but it will be combined to make a joint semianual conference meeting.

At this time Egyptians had the best academic offerings, so Moses had access to those.

Not until later in life that he chose to not accept the worldly comforts but chose his other kingdom, so to speak.

Having good books in our home really impresses children.

Righteous woman in family can be an aunt, as well.

Fear out of lack of a better word, we do not want to hurt our nurturer's feelings so we do not necessarily do what we would out of a deep respect of their will.

Moses saw the Hebrew as his brother. And he saved someone. This was symbolic of how he will save all of his brethren.

He must walk away from that life to begin his new life.

Moses expresses concerns about being a prophet.
1) Who am I? (I am nobody)
2) who do I say sent me?
3) Speech impediment. Slow of speech and not eloquent.
4) No one will believe me.
He, like most of us, was focusing on his weaknesses instead of the Lord's strengths.

Correction of Exodus 4:24
JST the Lord was not going to kill Moses, but he was angry with him.

Genesis JST about being accountable.

Circumcision is an outward token of being a covenant keeper. Outward expressions are motivated by inward desire. Think of how we take the sacrament.

Moses did not feel like he had suficient ability, but he had the Lord who is mighty enough to do it and it gave him strength.

Often we seem to get negative response for our righteous choices, but the good will come, just not in expected time frame.

In AL someone mentioned how members of the church have figurative targets painted on their backs.

Someone commented how when we get baptized or similarly, it seems like all Help breaks loose. This is mirrored in the movie " The Mountain of The Lord" where saints were worried that laying the cornerstone of a temple would cause hardship for them again, and they were just feeling safe.

Counterfeits are set up to let the magicians do the same things Aaron and Moses performed.
Likewise, we often experience counterfiets, false things are mingled with truth.

I loved the comment about weeds looking like plants.

There was an awesome comment about a huge poster of air woman in Target.

Influence of righteous people is so needed especially in the last days!

Our examples and choices speak so much more than we realize, so try to be better examples of being a covenant keeper.

Go see the Sarotov Approach
James Moss not remembered by the class, but wrote Truth will Prevail:

Not sure if he loves the study or presentation of this more.
He loves the history of England and that is what our class will be about, because no revelations were canonized this year.

Willard Richards

George Q, Cannon got his name on the board not because he was bad:-)

The reason the. Name Benbow stood out in my mind from seeing admiral Benbow Inn signs. Wikipedia suggests it might be John Benbow actually. It is said that he was the only 'upper crust'.

Numbers used in history are estimates at best.

The fact is London was the largest city in the world at that time.
Typical missionary tactics did not work and missionary work was slow.

Number of missionaries say London is still a very Difficult mission.

What is the largest place that you have never been?

Fun facts:

Tab choir began from a group of Welsh singers and lead by Welshmen.
The British were of Ephraim.

The Lord's hand has been helping in a time when the church was hanging on by the skin of their teeth.

Mote vs. Beam

Likely, there is a beam in my sight, but I must openly speak about this, harboring the thought is like allowing poison to build up in my body hoping for immunity, and instead it just makes me too ill to constantly endure, next. I can and will endure, but not this.

First, I want to relay a story. About a woman washing her Windows. Same lesson as the mote and beam though modernized. A couple sat in their breakfast nook enjoying breafast each morning when the very knowledgeable elderly woman comments to her husband what shame it is that the neighbor lady doesn't know how to properly wash her clothing. She thinks, looking out the window, that she ought to help her because those clothes are still shamefully dirty. Her husband just brushed this off and endured it for many days.
One bright sunny morning as the two ate their meal I'm a sunny room, the woman commented on how happy she was that finally the neighbor learned how to wash the clothes on the line properly. She commented about how bbright her whole day would be from such a small thing. Her husband agreed and said that if he had know how dirty their Windows were he would have washed them long ago, but being clean did afford them a better view of how things really are.

Ok, my mind has a hard time moving on because it is stuck in a loop of disbelief. How could Nick even compare our marraige to my first one. So, I tried to answer that and my answer fits all marriages and it really ought to never even be considered a problem. He says that I do nothing around here and that he pays for everything. Well, duh. I could do that just fine, but that is the main reason I got married in the first place. I raise the kids and he makes money. I figured that Brandall would appreciate everything I do unseen if I was gone, and now Nick is mostly unemloyed when it is his primary function to provide for us. I have not been unreasonable either. But, I figured to get his attention I would not do my job. But, I simply cannot do that because I love those kids, so I decided to go get a job, too, he has had years to demonstrate his desire to provide and protect. Instead he just claims that I do nothing around here. Typical, huh? If I loved him I would behave so differently, but why should I love him anyway? Any need that has been met has been from outside sources. I even begged him multiple times to take me on a date, but he entirely refused and was not interested.

So, yeah, it is fundamentally the same issue. The men need to be taught more about their seperate but equal purposes. We, as women, are constantly preached to and reminded about how we give up careers and other worldly ambitions at which we might divers, to instead accept a higher call to serve as mothers and wives.

Zombies

I have often flirted with an preoccupation with vampires. I particularly liked the idea in the tv show sanctuary, that true brilliance comes from eternal life, or the interview with a vampire idea explored that imortalizing a child deals with some strange issues. Such notion was often in the forefront of the minds of those who organized The Church of Jesus Christ. Notably, Joseph Smith had a constant concern for the immortal soul of one who never had a mature physical body. This was accounted for.

I have never been the slightest bit inclined to dwell on the whole premise of zombieism. Until tonight, I was considering why zombies always stereotypically appeared gross and scary. That was when I realized that must be why so many others are obsessed with them. Like the Popular topic of humanizing animals. Savage Garden even sang a song about wanting to be like animals. It was no obvious advantage of multiple legs or anything, but the fact that so much time was not just wasted away in worrying too much about looking right. Zombies are different from living people in that they are not obsessed with appearances, they seem, in stories at least, preoccupied with their next meal. Seems a bit animalistic, huh? Or childish. What child can not be bribed with treats?

Braindump

The hand of providence was so obvious in the establishment of the nation that quite often our fore fathers spoke of it.

Thankful for the blessings we all get.

If we follow our leaders we will be fine. Just rely on the Lord. Just rely on the lord when we cannot see, things will work out if we do our part.

It is amazing how the very thing I think that I,need to say, someone says, because circumstance does not allow.

Scattered and now we must perform the literal gathering. And now it is hastening of the work that includes missionary work of gathering.

A member defected and joined the church though there was no mission.

The lord knows where each person is.and where each missionary is needed. DNA could determine the tribes if needed.

December 3, next fireside by our ward.

Real growth and conversion among the members.

What will you have experienced that motivated you to act upon what you love.

Power of one person.

Got the gospel and don't want anyone left behind.

Stake conference 16 adult session 7
Sunday morning will be broadcast here.

Enduring challanges.

Most of our challenges revolve around family.

Joseph Smith in liberty jail d&c 122

"..all these things shall give thee experience, and shall be for thy good."

Book:infinite atonement. There is nothing the atonement cannot heal. Our teacher said that there is nothing that would stump the Lord.

Ask for a priesthoodholder to give you a blessing.

Look at others if you think you have it bad.

Listening to uplifting music.

Turn to the Lord when we question where can we turn for peace.

Loose yourself in anything. Like work. A physical thing helps us.

Write it down and then look back.

If you want to hear the Lord you have to be a proper vessel.

Gratitude Journal, got the idea from the song count your many blessings. Having a positive Outlook helps us endure.

If we have a firm foundation, like the song and others promise, we will be given aide.

Testimony - the Lord is always with us like the promised angels on our right hand and left. She was reminded to go listen to conference. And that reminder was there.

There will be a time when we will be restored to our flawless self.

There is an extra blessing that comes from temple attendance.

I wanted to add a personal note. I felt a bit jealous when others started sharing their significant struggles because mine is something that cannot even be shared, but as I listened to others, their words became a sort of comfort because I could relate to every trial and could see why others admired me, it was no longer a mystery. I just never saw those as difficult to endure so I do not credit myself much, but these women I really respect consider them very significant. Regardless, the absolute solution is found in shifting our perspective to a more eternal one, causing such things to seem prepratory and minor.

Today's Thought

Throughout history, nations have been able to survive a multiplicity of disasters, invasions, famines, earthquakes, epidemics, depressions, but they never have been able to survive the disentagration of the family.

Alvin

This is from a newspaper article on Sept 29, 1826. I did not have time to look it over, and think, yet, but I felt that there was a good story idea and I wanted to sort of bookmark it here to read later.

TO THE PUBLIC: Whereas reports have been industriously put in circulation that my son Alvin had been removed from the place of his interment and dissected; which reports ... are peculiarly calculated to harrow up the mind of a parent and deeply wound the feelings of relations ... therefore, for the purpose of ascertaining the truth of such reports, I, with some of my neighbors this morning, repaired to the grave, and removing the earth, found the body, which had not been disturbed. This method is taken for the purpose of satisfying the minds of those who may have heard the report, and of informing those who have put it in circulation, that it is earnestly requested they would desist therefrom.”

Braindump

When the words of Joseph Smith are used they are in Bold in book of the day which is a smaller version of the Joseph Smith papers which are slated to be done in 2015, not likely. All those papers are found online.

Hardship not unto death, bit will be survived. To ne it is crazy that one would even worry about that.

Letter sent from Parley Pratt, explaining that they being incarcerated protected them from the arms of other men.

Samson Aavard - left saying that he was only doing things that he had to do, and was very anti. Look him up online. I suspect there is a great story there.

Parley saw Joseph in chains rebuke the people and the fairest viewers away and begged for forgiveness. He had been in the prescense of kings and rulers, but he claims to have only beheld true majesty that once.

Erastus Snow name dropped and pretended to be a lawyer. And impressed the court.
Taught that Ishmael was from Ephraim while Lehi was of Manasseh.

Read the 29 page letter it became fodder for section 121, 122, 123.

The things we endure are the things that we need precisely to make us fit for future duties. The story of Uchtdorf riding that stupid bike it seemed unliked but that hardship helped him develop abilities that he needed to be a great pilot.

How many things do we do to correct out of an anger in making yourself feel bad.

Reading section 121 often is needed.

If the Devil attacks a think when something is right.

A scriptures significance can be measured by it's resistance.

No righteous man is taken before his time. This is like Abinidi who cannot be killed until he has done his part.

No one will be unexpected when they die, to the spirits in post mortal world, but it sometimes seems untimely on earth to us.

Elias Higbee went to white house and knocked on the front door.

Claimed in MO they could not be tried in Davies county because

Jeddidiah Grant gave talks with no script so the people gave him a topic on a paper and ends up it was blank, so he likened it to aspects of the gospel. The people bought him a horse and such as was needed.

Hankerchief from Josph Smith to Wilford Woodruff. And told him to wipe a brow and the ill man would be healed.

There are some very interesting stories of the Lyman family.

"I would give my life to believe again."

Luke Johnson is ancestor of elder Packer's wife.

It is niave to think that our faithfulness only effects us.

Our trials are consecrated for our good. Repeat.

Murky water

I wanted to share a quote, but unlike those who could remember much later the exact words that were said, my brain takes a shorthand version, and gives me more or less, the impressions. When left to oneself water becomes murky. What I mean by that is that sorta like the puget sound has a inlet so that the water does not become stagnent, but instead is just well, I cannot remember what we called it in SCUBA class but it means murky or low visibility. We need a constant flow of clean water because we are all sinners and a tiny misdimeanor will slip in polluting the water, like that little piece of candy you ate that was not ascribed to your diet. Or as one of my sons used and object lesson of a piece of yarn, single stranded it cannot do much, but wound around my knees several times? I cannot walk.
I have noticed a trend in others lives, which we all tend to do, it sorta keeps us from getting too self centered, right? :) anyway, I know a scripture D&C 82:10 "I the Lord am Bound when Ye do what I say..." It can be recalled to fit many situations, but right now I am using it to explain Exact Obedience. Everything the Lord promises is conditional. We cannot obey in part and expect him to bless in full. But, (pardon another scripture popped into mind) "To be learned is good if we harken unto God..."too often though that good thing, becomesa piece of yarn that trips us. When we get so much wisdom we start to think it is of ourselves and we forget the source or maybe the water gets too murky and we actually think that we thought everything worthwhile anyway, and perhaps we know better.

I say again, if left to oneself, our very water becomes murky.

Music

Usually, a person incubates a thought perfecting it before disclosing it, like music.

But, I was overly anxious to share so as soon as a thought struck me I hottest it down, I loved this and so I honed my craft. But, I found that though know how increased, I was more impressed with unforced revelation. I could force a marvelous creation because that is what I was trained to do, but I felt like I was neglecting my old skills of capturing something as it just suddenly existed in my mind.

Now, I do the same thing with words. I get a feeling and go with it, where ever it leads me, like this post, I was very impressed by a single thought, now a writer would stew it over for a while and allow more impressions to form regarding the same thing until they had gathered enough to write an incredible article. I just want to capture and then I can go on to thinking about something else. I watched an interview with Regina Spektor where she explained that she had a huge backlog of ideas to realize. I like that. Another woman at church said regarding so many great movies that they would never had been able to influence others in such a marvelous way, or even existed if someone had not journaled the story. No one could come up with stories as profound as true stories with their true lessons. I mean, how cathartic is it to align oneself with real people/events.

So, the comment was that no one does music like Layton East stake. And though technically that is right, the idea expressed it true, if only meant as a pep talk. I think that is why I love it here so much and feel at home, and why I ended up originally in music city.

There is an unspoken power in music. And when people who really have something to say, it does not always fit in words. Anyway, when the people here use music, skilled or not, I hear wonderful things and just wanted to remember that.

There was a Cellist who accompanied our choir yesterday and then last night we went to a music fireside, the talent was amazing. To me, it is only natural that these people present so much goodness through music.

Brain dump

Saturday 5:30 baptism.

Bro. Weaver visiting a RM. Home comming and asked to speak.
Talked about being scout leader of the younger version of the boy who served a mission.
It is important to always magnify our calling, it really does so much missionary work.

Brother Murphy talked about Christ's parable of the sheep and the goats.

Almost all of us are hungry and need to be fed spiritually.

Privilige to work with the young men.

The missionary was always serious and somber, I forget the word for it he used, but it means driven, focused, and not at all taking anything lightly.

Hastening work is contagious.

It was inspired to get rid of that bit of space after highschool and serving a mission.

I am so glad to hear the talk by pres. Eyeing this morning in particular the part about accepting callings and the significance of serving with the young men, it is especially reserved for many Noble and Great ones. It is true for any calling no matter. If we serve others then we will learn it.

This is the church of Jesus Christ. He began his discourse about the savior by bearing his testimony of this.

Becoming perfect is the goal of this church and it is actually obtainable.

This very tough looking dude was
the one who needed the gospel.

Story about the guy who could not do it. This young missionary said, "but yes, you can." His favorite scripture from Moroni, days that others would be forgiven no limit to amount of times is stated.

A letter of release was read. And was impressive.

Sunday School - Post mortal world.

Where is it? Brigham Young said it right around us.

3 day transition period time when a body dies.

That transition is a comfort and reassurance that there is a life after death.

Our spirits are in what shape? A rectangle said someone joking.

You spiritual Ether 3:16 we look like who we are now only perfect.

Alma 34:34 spirit, that posesses our body.

Story from other manual about a man who was converted because of death he no longer doubted the things he was taught but needed someone to do his temple work.

D & C 130 comes to mind.

Likened to stars, moon and Sun. Stars do not appear when moon shines so bright.

The no sorrow is incomprehensible.

If we are busy, it is good to know that we will not just be sitting around doing nothing.

Missionary work is vital because of the thing my philosophy teacher told us about how when we die if anyone we know will be in help, we would be sad.

Cancer 4.5 but he survived. We cannot judge those because we do not know how much is comprehended.

RS notes:

Nov 8 veterans day thingy.

Wednesday going to the temple

Ask people to contribute because talk is short.

Even though good family activity it will not substitute.

Shares a vision of Lehi. Relate it to the people of today, there are three types.

1rst group never had the gospel.

2nd group was very religious, but fell away, but did not endure.

3rd group was of the gospel but never fell away.

We tend to be selective in what we will choose.

Every group is going through the mists of darkness but only one has something to hold on to.

But, what about those who feel like they survived and then let go.

Suckor mean to give assistance in time of distress or want.

To hold the rod we must serve others and strive to suckor their wants even.

Repent means to renew. Look up renew. Go forward even stronger.

Revelation comes from attending church meetings and studying our scriptures.

If only I had a new day, after sleep, I could do better. Sometimes, she thinks she needs a new day too early.

There is a reason why I need to be there.

What makes us ashamed enough, after we ate and then it distracts us.

The nothing under the building is idle time, keeps us being grounded.

So, even after we eat of the fruit we still must hold to the rod, it would be a huge blessing to find the iron rod again.

Not attending can have eternal consequences.

Way more blessings than trials because of going to all meetings, she knows the church is true, and it is a blessing.

People decide it is not anything new, we have heard it all before.

Strength to Endure.

Another advantage I mangled into a disadvantage

First was my musical skill which should have allowed me a greater ability to communicate, but I griped about being so misunderstood, then my physique which perfectly lent it's power and beauty, but I only fretted about being different, though, it was better and now I complain about being too plain and ordinary. But, the real advantage I realized was that I was blessed to both be raised to and realize the insignificance of money in a family. Never had it, never cared a bit for it and considered myself fortunate, and really it opened a whole lot of possibilities as far as companion because my choice had nothing to do with money, but that wasn't enough for me. I determined that I did not require love either, and got so into not limiting my possibilities, I turned what could have been a limiting advantage (cause now I know that not being interested in money is rare among women) into a huge disadvantage, not only would I live in poverty but I would not live on love. And now I am living on my sheer desire to succeed which, admittedly at times wears thin. I am beyond not having any money, I cannot have anything, and I do not have love either so what the heck do I have? Well, it is not an eternal flame or enduring Passion, but cute little kids for which I would sacrifice and do so much, but I wonder if I am still too selfish. Maybe if I really loved them then I would get away and let them have an eternal family to be sealed to for eternity. I just can not be sure of any such thing. Cause, and this is the heart wrenching kicker. I think my husband loves me. I didn't used to even think that and I thought that the reason we were not sealed yet was because he did not value me enough, but, now I think he just is too dumb to think if it. It honestly never occurs to him that he could jepordize his family because he does not see the significance of a temple marraige, so to him just our little legal arrangement is significant enough. Blah, I must get to bed.

I promised to love him and our family, but I had no right. I was only thinking of making life easier than being a single parent. So, I agreed to it, and thought another child would seal my fate, because I would never dare leaving them regardless. And things were so busy my head was spinning, but as they mellow out, and I come to my senses I scream out, "what have I done?" It Is like when you cut your bangs, sure, they are cute for a while, and will grow out again, but how are you going to endure the troubles associated with styling them if they do not feel worth it and you wonder. "What have I done?"

Brain dump

The studying and reading is the fun part of teaching, She explains that she loves the people, teaching is not as fun.

We over simplify who covenant people are, but it is less about blood than about our faithfulness.

The servant Eleazar went very far to Hebron to find a wife. Given strict counsel to not pick a local girl.

The teacher said that her greatest fear is giving false information.

Women go out twice a day to go get water.

The servant had a plan and then went to the Lord to have it solidified.

No man had seen the likness of Rebekah (JST), but it is her carachter that is so beautiful. She was willing to water for all his camel 10 each to about 30 gallons a piece.

She hasted which means ran.

It was polite to give a traveler a drink, but she wanted to do her best to help this man, and it speaks well of her character.

It is so much fun to hear someone read about it.

The Lord said, "Rebekah is before you. Take her and go." Her family wanted her to stay 10 days, but she just went.

This story is as good as pride and prejudice.

The most important choice you will ever make is not about you choice for occupation. Your greatest choice of all is your spouse.

Personal worthiness is more important that birthright.

For 20 years she (Rebekah) was barren.

Her sons were they named at birth?
The big to do was for the birthright, similarly do we value our birthright? With that I think about how often I have expressed a thanks for being "born to goodly parents."

Essay marrying a hittite was a grief of mind to his parents.

We know that Rebekah and Jacob were not trucking her husband to make a future that was promised.
But, when Isaac, found out what happened he did not revoke the blessing.

Isaac was not a firstborn himself, nor was Abraham.

Your birthright is worth more than any worldly wealth.

Jacob had a dream.  Genesis 28:12
A temple experience.

Instead of dreadful it ought to be awesome in our vernacular.

Wedding lasts a week, but Jacob figured it out, the first day.

D&C 132:63 explains polygamy.

Gen 31 reminds me of how the people of Missouri were towards the early saints.

As Jacob's wrestle with the Lord was a prepare. Like Enos did. Spiritual struggles often proceed spiritual progress.

Wrestle  means to struggle.

There are fights and Tiffs, but the bond between siblings is very strong.

Often we want a do over because we fear that we did not do our best.

Kinda' facebooky

Me, me, me. I don't have a photo but I am going to talk about me which will tell you more anyway, though less visually informative, so I guess it will lack that much Facebook goodness, oh let's argue ,"Tastes Great!" "Less Filing!" ok, we see how pointless that was, now, on to me....
I thought because I love to study and learn that I wanted to be a teacher, just always have, then I had kids and attended Relief Society and actually paid attention, and I realized all mothers love to teach, it is sort of a God-given inheritance or something.

Now, picture a mug on a desk, all that screams academia. I bet the mug clearly says "World's Greatest Teacher". Naturally, I wanted to emulate what was great and what was greatest beyond all greatness? Jesus Christ, often referred to as Rabi, or teacher.

By nature, I wanted to be the greatest teacher, but then realized my place. I am strangely drawn to being a student. Let me explain. When I watch videos of the Savior teaching I have an almost unquenchable desire to be there, I do not listen as much to what he says as that he is teaching. I have actually received a commandment to be a student, and I have always willingly been. Not much else excites me as much as learning. I want to win the title of "World's Greatest Student."

This thought just in, don't teachers always say that they learned so much more than they could teach? Further, great teachers always quote other teachers, so perhaps nothing has changed on the surface. My natural evolution would be a teacher from a student, but my purpose would change from mastering information to pass it on to others to just trying to be the best student ever which encompasses being the best teacher.

Brain dump

When you get older you loose things, our teacher comments that he lost time. About a hour just disappeared and cannot be found.

Make scripture reading a part of you regime and you will find untold blessings.

What do you do to loose the disposition to do evil? Prayer and scripture study. >Meaningful<

Teaching a class or our other opportunity we have in callings. We will gain a whole lot more in gaining a proper disposition when we seek to help others.

Book of the week Joseph Smith and the Restoration was studied when teaching at BYU.

You will like how you feel when you read this.

"I love the history of the church."

Ohio was a temporary place. They did not build accordingly.

Zion's Camp was successful but not in terms of it's own eyes.

Joseph needed an assistant, often as Brother Poll studied about Joseph, he thought "This guy needs someone who will always have his back." Oliver Cowdery then Hyrum Smith was that needed assistant to the president of the church.

Cannot live in a place without trees.

Driven from Mo by force, but Kirtland by persecution.

There is nothing in Kirtland, and we are still blamed for desolation.

Prairy land was desolate and not deemed at all worthy of supporting life. But, the saints were blossoming and things were growing extremely well.

Story of Mormon miracle with nail in the window, Luke Johnson.

Chapter of Isaiah story about stem of Jesse, David's father. Rod coming out of it. And root is all explained well in the notes on the final page of the blog info found at http://garypoll.blogspot.com - Someone brought up Clolumbus' claim. Teacher explained dual properties and ambiguousness of his writing. (A bit like astrologers and Nostrodomus or even fortune cookies their success is a result of their ambigousness.

David said that dying a matrys death wouldnot be so bad. His last words were to his wife. And he appears to a man calling him to repentance, after apostasy. Joseph told him to be careful what you ask for.

History of church is not always remembered accurately.

The church does not have the right to tell me what to do...

They chose to serve in building up the church instead of earning a living. "Best years of my life, I was a fool to give to you" from Chess. But, also a scripture comes to mind "... Riches where moth doth not corrupt."

Church got its name from the Lord, and it is significant.

Adam-info-Ahman
Place is being prepared  and kept for the return of the Savior.

Gallatin is mentioned, that is where my children are.

Oliver Grainger  get to know.

Nicolitians wants to be in the church but stay worldly. In d & c section warning to an apostle.

Would be cool to meet a prophet and tell him that you fufilled a prophecy of his.

Memorize. Thousands of passages from Book of Mormon.

Brigham Young found a lot interesting what people considered surplus. People were willing, but did not think to give the "first fruits" and some sought to reserve property because they speculated that it was not surplus because they intended to use,it, or give .

I refuse to comment about things that I know nothing about, but if I know a little I will expound a great deal.

"Tithing are periodic love notes to the Savior saying I love you more than this money."

Other faiths stated that we are so lucky in the stability of neo.g a teacher. They do not know Wether they will be considered for employment from season to season.

Saints of Hauns Mill would have been spared if they had heeded the words of the Prophet.

Things I love

My favorite things include a sign that read "The Hokey Pokey Clinic: a place to turn yourself around", a few comments I had heard "Like a cow in tall grass, I am udderly tickled to be here." and "98 percent of all statistics are made up. I just made that up." and stir fry vegtables.

I loved a comment I heard in class, "Tithing is my little love notes to the Savior saying I love you more than money."
