Braindump

To understand Nauvoo we need to understand the followers comitment to the person who respresented the Lord. They got confused and equated the Lord with Joseph Smith.

But, it was the Lord instructed the prophet/people who came to Utah.

City was allowed to have a millitia and it was a third the size of the united states. Illinois allowed that.

Million dollar temple? Look up to know the rest of the story behind such claim.

Families had much hardship
Because of being dedicated and serving the church.

It is hard for Joseph Smith to run a store cause either he was too, businessmanlike or too easy to rip off for the sake of being such a great Christlike guy.

John Wentworth asked for a written document of history.

There has been mention of changing the articles of Faith.

4th section of D&C. Standard of truth.
1 Now behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.
2 Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.
3 Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work;
4 For behold the field is white already to harvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul;
5 And faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work.
6 Remember faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, diligence.
7 Ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Amen.

Written the Wentworth letter for the purpose of writing a history of Vermont.

Relief society formed in Brick Storehouse, and remember a story about Sarah Grainger Kimball. ( the lady who wanted to help the temple workers...)

What power is retained after death?

I recall a strange story about someone claiming that they were Joseph Smith reincarnated, or other prophets. That must've been common in Jesus' time because of the story of learned men and a potential explination was a reincarnated prophet of old. Something had been taught to make then believe that.

Remember the poem and story that goes with it . Penned by Phelps and corrected...

the initiatory given in red brick store before they had a temple.

D&C 129
The way to know spirit types, why was this knowlegde seen as important?

Satan cannot do anything. You cannot be tempted above which Ye can bear.

Satan cannot tempt children before accountability.

Jesus has not died a second time, he is not a personage of spirit.

Write a book, it is useful and desired, about time.

We have angels assigned to this earth. Not random messengers of God.

Talk about white stone, talk about guilty verdict. But, it reminds me of the song by Enya on LOTR. "Into the west"

When does the Savior return?

Joseph Smith and Abraham Lincoln had same idea to do away with slavery. Makes sense because of the light of Christ, or Holy Ghost can be with many at once.

Funfact: Abraham Lincoln had a Book of Mormon.

We do not have to worry about justice, no one will be treated or judged unjustly, or get away with anything. As the needs be a post mortal world to mere out justice, so there necessarily was before this world. We are eternal beings afterall. This idea is founded in the 130th section. Principle of intelligence scripture mastery.

The degrees of glory, " what is the middle? It is the hang out place... You can see but cannot touch... Not doctine, but I like it."

Joseph Smith wrote letters to each of the presidential canidates  regarding what they would do for his sect but most did not reply and the rest were not satisfactory, so he decided to run himself.

Section 131 is summed up by article of faith 10.
Was intended to be at the end of the book of commandments. Written 2 days after section 1.

Lectures of faith was originally included before 19 2something. Version of the D&C.

*We are a church of immersion, not just in baptism.*

"I would gladly trade all I know for all I do not know."

It was humorous how he responded to several questions/comments saying they were so good and he was glad to hear them. Then the one he said, " I don't know. " and that was considered a bad question because he couldn't answer it. :)
