List

Time comes when you need is less, and it seems like everyone wants your attention the only time you specifically set aside for something.

I am going to use this extra time to make a list of things I can remember that I had promised, then hopefully I will find the time to come back with things I forgot that I found as I studied.

1. To be Brandall's wife forever. But, I have been relieved of that on I believe.

2. To be Nick's earthly companion and help meet. but I have been failing terribly on this one and justify it in my head.

3. Love my neighbor.

4. Honor my parents.

5. Make sure the temple work has, been done for my ancestors.

6. Mourn, and give comfort where needed.

7. Be an example of gospel principles by taking Christ's name.

Brain dump

Prayer is how we talk to God, scripture is how he answers.

As a missionary never left without a challengel without a scripture and prayer.

We ought to set aside a regular time without interference to read our scriptures.

Nothing more important to give our children read scriptures. They will eternally benefit from it.

Do not waste time on frivolous things. Words of a prophet.

The Lord will promise to bless us when we try to follow his will.

Story of Alma the younger

Youth sang

We were saved for this day... We will stand in Holy places and will not be nice.

Brother Rosser wanted to move to a place where there were more little children.

Prayer is the way we align our will with our Father in Heaven.

Our scripture is of Alma teaching his son Helaman.

Things that we are told to pray for are mostly giving thanks.

Story told about a job change, that required a test after 14 weeks or training and studying. He had a 50% chance of passing from results of practice tests. So he realized that his future depended on this test so he fasted and prayed. He dreamed that he was going to take the test. And he was told so that he wouldn't stress, and he was even told that he would get the score he got but he still stressed.

You already know that you are supposed to go on a mission, but asked anyway. Same thing when he met his wife and children, but sometimes it is to reaffirm our own thoughts.

When Joseph prayed, he did all of the work before he prayed. Then, he prayed and was answered, but would he have been answered without the previous work to know, well, is was weeking information in the bible in the first place that lead him to have the confidence to ask.

Nephi prayed to ask for strength to get free when his brothers tied him up, but not in the way that we imagine, it was just that his bands losened enough to escape.

Anna had a stroke and told that if she smoked again she would die. She went to the temple but ended up dying anyway (this would make a great movie). The moral was that answers do not always come how we expect.

Answers do not always come while we are praying.

Sometimes changes just come and we just must change with them.

Choir sings song again.

Measure of a man song by youth as advertisement for upcoming musical fireside. What is in the heart, leaving they said "look! They have food."

Visiting teaching conference.

Next week is conference.

Ephraim hanks what brother Benedict has gained. Sis. Benedict mentioned how she always thinks about what he resource he is and she isn't taking advantage of it.

If no one had journaled and preserved Family History this movie would not exist.

Should have 1 gallon of water per person per day.

Just as much sugar in the beats that fell off the cart. So, take note of who is not here, they have as much value and need to be with us.

Parable again about the sheep. And caring enough to seek put the lost sheep.

Is each person under your care fully active, then if you are prompted act, the Lord will help.

If you rescue God's children, he will rescue ours.

If we work to help the one we are prompted to then, the one our heart aches for.

I used to hate to have visiting teachers cause I did not believe that it was God's assigning the friend.

The beauty of Visiting teaching is seeing lives change, it really can.

She was sick and did not want to be seen. But, her by came anyway.

Pray before and there it will make all of the difference.

I have enough faith that I know that I can cash in on this one. If I obey promptings about others Heavenly father will bless my kids, including the ones in TN.

Ah hah!

That's it! Tonight I am going to write music, no words required!

General RS notes

It was the faithful people who helped Alma's son when he needed help. It helps us bear one another's burden and keep baptismal covenant.

We cannot keep temple covenants if we cannot keep our baptismal covenant

The more familiar we are with our scriptures, the more we will understand in the temple.

We solidify what we receive at the temple in our home.

Faithfulness to keeping covenants is a requirement for being Happy.

We are able to endure great things with love. Love is a way to be covenant keepers.

Love is measured by our covenant keeping.

"come on, you are not tied down anymore."

CHOIR -GO FORTH WITH FAITH

Keeping a covenant is something we should be aware of if we made a willful choice.

Often we serve others because we just naturally love, and are not even aware of keeping any promises, it is not a motivation to be sure.

Profound how it is so much like the story of the goal to hike, but when she was hiking with another she forgot her goal because she was on another purpose altogether. It might seem odd that we can forget our broad and so sincere goal, but it can and can happen with love.

A invitation out of love is never offensive.

Helping others is a good goal, it is afterall what the Lord above all commanded us.

Sometimes, we figuratively are stripped of what was inside like the tabernacle in Provo, to become a temple.

Our trials might be the very thing that are needed to help us live as we both really want to.

Is this what the Lord wants me to think about myself?
He loves us and our efforts, not other things. Plus, it is not his tactic to scorn us or find fault anyway, so question what purpose and source of this thought.

270 - I'll Go Where You Want me to Go

Impossible to even mention the amount of Good the RS.

Struggle is common to all, so relief is necessary.

When fear replaces faith then pray. In there we will find reassurance and peace.

We yearn for peace. 129. Trust our father in Heaven knows best. He answers prayers!

Prayer is not just for peace amid struggle, but always. Did you think to pray?

Scriptures give greater knowledge, even untold knowledge.

Story of Tiffany and Loaf of bread, is exactly how the Lord used those who felt I needed something, but knew nothing, so it could have not been from them. The RS serves. The errand of angels is given to women. This is the evidence I was looking for to know how a source could be determined. It is much like my sister's Pat. blessing was determined that the source must be the Lord. That means the preisthood is the power of God, and reckon back, the church must be the Church of Jesus Christ, it seems undeniable evidence, still she somehow can dismiss it. I can't and the reminder was very needed.

RS Institute

There has been a change in the scripture mastery. To fit the new youth program, hastening the work.

If you want to do good, then work with the youth.

All teachers begin with testimony.

Jig saw puzzles sometimes we cannot tell what the piece is, but we have the big picture, she brought on, but feared bringing it because if she looses it she is in trouble.

Big picture in gospel is The Plan of Salvation.

Truths in begining:
Adam is the father of all living. He is extremely intelligent and Eve is every bit as wise and a help meet.

Can cut outhanded out quotes and put in your scriptures. There is one about the things we know about Adam.
Adam was intended to fall all along!

Girl (teen) asked, "wait, you mean Adam and eve were married in the temple?"

*Ideal and then exceptions.*

Adam & Eve did several things to make their marriage succeed (on a hand out). Examplified in the proclamation to family:
(put together after it)
1)Work
2)Intimacy
3)Pray
4)Worship
5)Offerings
6)Obedience
7)Repent
8)Teach
9)Endure
10)Mourn

There are things that we should only share with one whom we are married to, does that make sense? It was clear to everyone in their own way.

After many days Adam was persistant and continued.

Firstling, first of that mother, must be a male without blemish. You must really know your flock to know which are firstlings. So, what if first is female? Or was...

No alternate plans or saviors.

Both were baptised and then they prophesized.

Prophesize in your own sphere of influence, by Holy ghost.

I wonder what Eve felt after her first baby. She felt that the thing that she knew it was right.

It is important for children to see us do things the proper way, like Eve telling things to her children.

We get a witness after the trial of our faith.

"Who is God that we should know him?" Is a clue to carachter.

Is offering a plan of self or faith. When you do your own thing, it is not faith.

When we obey the will or way of the world, over God, we are tricked and rewarded accordingly.

Cain had a family. And long time actually and subtle, gradual following of Satan, which lead him to slay Abel, and he Gloried in that.
Am I my brother's keeper, nasty and unwise remark.

Curses and Marks are not the same.

Mark was a protection and evidence of how God loves us still.

So was there ever a chance for Cain to repent?

Can people change?

Who is Enoch?
Book by Hugh Nibley
Joseph Smith's code name
A lot of sin and a lot of enlightenment. At time of Enoch lots of quotes and references throughout scriptures.
There is a book of Enoch.

He is such a good priesthood and  holder and extremely wise and a person we would all like to meet and hang out with.

Consider why it was removed.

Hugh Nibley was hard to understand. One day he was not able to teach and substitute said the class was fortunate because now they might actually understand something.

Enoch was mentioned a lot, likely mentioned horseman becausehe was so good in battle. But if he was removed from our bible, his doctrine was necessarily removed.

Blood, water, and spirit.

Water is baptism which is a commandment.
Spirit is Holy ghost justification.
Blood represents the atonement and it represents sanctification.

The latter is the work of God, the other two are our duty.

If you read and go to the temple you will find what God wants you to know. If that is not enough directing, then just look for Christ, he is even in all things.

"I apolozie for going too fast but, I know that you will study at home."

Satan laughs and Enoch cries. Chapter 7. Noah, 120 years he preached.

When children are taken it is to protect them.

Lord wept, but then told Enoch to cheer up and not refuse to be comforted.

We have every reason to be glad.
We are not hoping, we absolutely know that things will work out!

Be glad because of the ressurrection.

That would be a good thing to remind the Lord when he thought that he would not want to endure what he endured.

We and the earth gets to rest? But, how can we rest? Isn't resting being happily aware?

*Was Noah's day as wicked as ours?

People claim that the flood never happened, Noah was as good as good can be. Walked and talked with God.

People were given lots of opportunity to repent.

Heavenly father has a plan and his plan works.

We do not have to be perfect. Like teaching.

Institute notes

If you do not remember a name just say John. :)

The next teacher is using a power point, my lectures are powerless and pointless.

If you were going to miss a lesson, this would have been the one.

Deliberation as is needed by the church where each opinion is considered so it is slow to make a unified stance, reminds me of of Ents.

Trial of tranqulity from the book trials shall give you experience.

Book this week. Called the book of the week, likely by the writer and publisher.

240 maps and graphical representations of fact of.

Mapingmormonism.buy.education perfect coffee table book.

102 not revelation but minutes of a meeting from organization of high counsel.

Living churcand we can through study of history see how it is fundamentally grown line upon line.

High counselor is not a counselman but a counselor, and cannot function without quorum.

More love then in disciplinary counsel, than even in the temple.

Reasons for discipline.
1) help people to repent
2) keep the church in line: the story about Bill O'reilly talking about his church and the lack of discipline caused.

Discipline means to teach not to punish.

Reitterated over and over how loving and helpful disciplinary counsels are.

People in Missouri were trying to be good, but they were being prepared and they needed more learning to live higher laws.

A group lead by Hyrum from Pontiac, MI.

Went to travel to relieve saints in Missouri.

A mob was disbanded by a storm.

Govenor could not hold true to his word to help after they did as asked.

In 105 united order is necessary way to function.

9 of the 12 apostles came from Zion's camp. It was a trial and a training.

Published books of information that will help provided the needed money, also used to build temple. But, the press was destroyed, so it could not become the Zion that was intended.

Debts were entered into but need to be repaid. Brigham Young paid all of Josephs incurred debts.

The Lord takes care of his own.

He blessed those who assist others.

Our wealth is tied up in places and people.

(I have heard that poor people are poor because they are Lazy and consecration seems to make people lazy, but I think this is true).

We need to humbly endure to the end, it is not enough to have been good for a while. And, no one knows when the end will come.

Early church did not have experienced members to call upon as leaders, but this is
Very much like the way the savior called people, do not put new wine in old vessels.

Church organization was not changed much from original architechture. Because inspiration comes from God (makes,me think of the king Follett discourses.)

If you do not learn but are slothful is not counted worthy.

We are not always most talented but are given opportunities to grow.

Each generation works harder than the previous.

Piano lessons or paper routes because not everyone lives on the farm.

Not right to assume that things should go well for you.

We need resistance to grow the needed spiritual muscles.

(Conflict seems to be a very popularly spoken of thing everyone can relate to.)

Everything.g is true in my notes, as far as it is translated correctly, reminds me of the ways that I am misunderstood, I was perfectly correct.

Not, a church of volunteers.

Amulek knew but would not know.

Young man, keeps all the commandments but doesn't think church is true. So told the story of companion who got in fights with companions, that boy never learned to work, but he needs help. The companion could not fast. He said he did not know his lesson, but he did know. His companion said that he did not know the church wad true. So did not teach. That boy wanted to go home, I do not want to ruin his mission. He wanted to die, he told him that there was an option better than death. These things have to be true or having a testimony was just a rouse. They decided to die together, they vowed to not eat.his companion knew something he felt something was true. The boy who wanted to go home was made a zone leader. And on his end of his missing he got to choose his companion, he chose that guy.

I can totally relate to wanting a personal story, but I am not sure I can endure what is required to get there. In his story the sacrifice was fasting.

(Not to detract from the spirit of Brother Poll's testimony that he bore regarding the truthfulness of the gospel which was powerful and convincing - it was obvious that he believed those things - but, I kept thinking that maybe that was the trouble with Nick. He never has worked at anything, so if a thing is difficult he avoids it and it's really bringing me down, and even if that wasn't so and he became the equivalent of a zone leader,

For what

I want to perform acts of service. I want that a core part of me. I do not want even a hint of vanity that could be toyed with or exploited. I want to be understood and appreciated. The attempt is worth most.

I want to say something to you, sort of like a prayer, or a song. What I might say still eludes me. But, I need to say something. I want it to be valuable or appreciated.

There is so much to do and explore and become. I understand a little bit more now

Relief society

Women's broadcast on sat.

Elder Oaks talk. Followers of Christ.

He also warned, “If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you”

We are peculiar people.

In the world but not of it.

Prayer is a way to follow Christ. Our teacher mentioned finding keys, which reminds me of the thing I had seen.

Love one another and missionary work are ways to live the example of the parable of the lost sheep.

Love is the absolute best way to follow Christ.

The act of forgiveness to the woman who dined he said, "let he who is without sin..." was such a miracle to that woman, maybe even greater than other widely marveled at miracles.

So many stories shared where the pain of years lost was necessarily forgiven. And every sister eventually admits that it was better to forgive when it obviously erased what would have been just.

Our teacher studied the Hymn and encouraged us to do so too

Never can be used

I had, been accustomed to the idea that words like always and never should be avoided because if our communication is to be considered useful it must be true.

I was thinking today about how tumultuous my past has been, but through it all, and it did come to pass, there is a core me that never changed. Now, I should not be misunderstood to claim any superiority over changing folk. I just noticed though I had plenty of oppertunities to change but something kept me, well me. I am still and fundamentally me.

Previously, I might have defined myself externally or through the things I love or have a talent for like, the piano playing, runner, computer chick, I cannot run or play the piano, and no one even knows or suspects my technical past let alone my obsession with acting, whereas in college and High school I was known as the drama girl. But, stripping me of all of that, I am still me. I even questioned what I was intended to do and believed, thinking maybe it was just a product of the things I had been taught, but one by one Things felt right and were solidified as true and what I, by nature, loved. My religion is not by nurture or brainwashing. The more I was actually able to think, the less I valued that ability.

Lastly, I used to think that we should not judge others by thief spirit because like their body, they did not have much say and it seemed unfair to prefer one nature over another. Then, I remembered that we must and will judge others, that shouldn't matter of it is fair or not. Also, tah dah, enter a concept of pre exsistence and now you have fairness, our inner self is a product of life, we receive fairness through our choices.

The reason genius will never be popular

To be popular follow one simple rule:state the obvious.

My references are popular music, popular catch phrases, and anything that is widely applicable.

I had always thought the secret was learning to convey complex ideas in a simple way. But, after years of carefully research, I have found my old axiom still rings true, you find what you are looking for. Stating what is obvious or comfortable means exactly that, and further meaning if found was likely never intended. So, all of you captain obviouses, this is good news for you, you will always have many people to sing "don't stand so close to me" with because the lyrics are easy to remember.

About time...

Ironically, if I had time, I would like to write a story or poem about what an equalizer time is, This idea stems from a thought that made me giggle to conceive ideas about what ways I could imagine for the spouses of my children and their children and what sort of mysteries and tales those unions would create.

I was thinking about the truth in the words that time changes everything. I looked up the locations of my husband's ancestors and thought it was humorous that my ancestors were rulers over his ancestors, but they escaped to America where chance would have it, we met and he ended up more or less my ruler, uh uh uh I was reminded in a class yesterday that husbands do not rule they preside. Either way, without sufficient space given by time we would never have met or ever happened to marry or even speak to one another. But, he sort of rescued a drowning puppy when he married me so he was my hero, and to me that is rich in Irony. Maybe it would make a better story to tell of an ancestor daydreaming an actual event like mine.

They say the best stories are founded in truth.

Brain dump RS institute

First thing and most significant is the teachers comments regarding the peace that is included in her life when she studies the scriptures.

Compare Moses to Genesis, so many plain and precious things were lost from the old testament.

The plan was a singular purpose already determined by God not a brain storming counsel.

Not about Lucifer but it is important to know that he is really there.

Jehovah was the more humble servant.

Satan said that he does not know the fathers plan, but has a better one. But  Jehovah was already "foreordained".

He knew not the mind of God, but he knew what we knew. He did not realize that he was part of the plan.

Subtle. Gradually is how you get someone to disobey.

If he was that great and we will be as likely to be tricked through an appealing to our pride.

Thought from other class.
"The adversary will have very little power to tempt you with things that you have never touched." (Elder John Dickson, CR April 2007, Commitment to the Lord)

When we chastened and allow others agency, we must chastened always allowing a way to make things right again. This is demonstrated by the "mind of God" or the original plan included the atonement. A way to restitute and be forgiven and benefit.

Eve who first transgressed and it was seen as necessary, then it was followed by Adam, and only with Genesis we might blame her for the sin of transgrassion.

Transgression vs. Sin.

Elder Oaks explained it by talking about 2nd article of faith. Transgression because it breaks a defined rule or legality, but a sin is by breaking a moral or eternal law.

Accountability by asking them questions, but he already knew the answer.

Bruise heel is symbolic of crucifiction, but that same body will be ressurrected, and by atonement mortals will ultimately overcome.

Heavenly father could done things himself, but delegated and used the power of Jesus.

Preside not ruling.

Enmity means to hate. Women are blessed with a bit of extra hate of the adversary to protect children and family.

We are co creators with our father in Heaven.

When a child is born the mother looses blood, this is like the atonement. When the Savior loosed blood from every pore.

It is so very important to protect home, but of everything that can be done we have many things that are needed to be done in our homes. It is very important to rear children, most essential.

Whatever we must do willbe the most important.

Women are promised that you will be a mother in the eternities. That is the most important call, but everything at the right time.

Greatest spirits had to wait to have their great reward, we tend to be  tested and made to wait to gain a greater respect for what we are given.

Eve is named the mother of all living.

Institute some notes

I tried to care, but couldn't.

His father told him to be thankful for places to go cause life is harder when you don't.

Testimony -know and tell
Conversion - do and become

Patriarch only hereditary calling.
Came before apostles were called.

William was excommunicated.

A man was overlooked because of qualifacations like marriage, WoW, and poor ability to financially care for himself.

A guy was then later passed on cause young, single, etc.

Office of Pat was dismissed for health reasons. Eventually it became unpratical as the church grew.

He does things his way. Not heredity, but a more perfect way.

Church has 2 centers that are over 900 miles apart, missiouri vs Ohio.

Godhead is one in all ways but physical, and we are desired to be one with him.

Had access to the recordof John the Baptist (sealed portion of the plates)

Everyone is born with the light of Christ.

Christ got Grace for grace and intelligence for intelligence. What,is truth Jacob 4:13 really are. Vs.24

Truth comes from a word that means trustworthy.

What exactly intelligence is is not very clear. It was matter organized.

We areborn free from any sin from stains of a pre earth life.

94 - most signifcant in that it is out of order.

Be aware of the spirit we enter or carry with us.

"Chasten" audibly sounds like chased them.

When we chastened we must know what our motivation.

We must know that things can be good in the end.

Story about his son troy in establishing trust. That important thing that we learn as parents.

Alma 39 this is serious trouble. But must leave with a way that it can be made good. We all really want things to be good. Like Joseph wanting others to be happy, visibly so.

The gospel is strange to those who are not familiar with it.

So many people kept going when even leaders fell, but the greatest respect for those who fall, like cross country, and get back up.

Serve others so much that you will be needed to help others so you cannot be expected to struggle, too.

A woman who forgave the one who killed her child, because she needed to love her husband, and other child, so to do so she could not harbor hate and provide love, too.

This morning

I woke driven by this thought, in the wee hours when my mind and body are forced to consider nothing else. I would like to change a philosophy regarding obedience. I see that I have all of the tools and can have the opportunity if that is what I desire. It is a challenge to a basic fundamental practice regarding motivation. Unaware, I have always toyed with the deeper questions of legitimacy and questioned at my failures when I ought to have had success, it is because we are and continue the practice of motivating others to obey by force, as in many laws things like money. Such fines always seemed wrong to me because such motivations were based on financial freedom. What I thought was, if you had enough money you could avoid that consequence's effect. Ie: driving fines. So, you can only speed if you can afford it. Otherwise there is no legal motivation to just be a good and courteous driver. Good? Courteous? That is why I hate using language to represent ideas.
Ha ha ha my auto correct kept changing language to panties. So my sentence read, "That is why I hate using panties..." Ok, I need to go back to bed.

what you ought to do with discouragement

I just read something that was nagging at my mind as an area for personal improvement, and realized that of the two ways it could be handled one of them, popularly called discouragement could lead to me deciding that even all of the good things possible required a risk too steep. So I would like to recognize that potential while focusing on the potential for good.

I know that whenever we decide to do something extremely good we will we tried and must prove able to withstand discouragement. I do not know at all how this will be applied, but in my particular situation My choice was so good it was making me feel so content and purposeful, and things that might discourage others were easily overcome. I was even told that it would basically be impossible for me for do this thing that I was able to focus all of my self finally and endure so many other things. because of HOPE.

One time at a branch conference in maybe Montgomery Alabama, or close it was commented in Sunday school by a random person that as members of the church it is like we walk around with figurative targets on our backs. It was significant to me cause.. Oh time out. I just saw the cutest thing on TV which I had to look at when my children began a fight that required intervention. a girl who is very smart dressed like another girl because she was trying to be stupid. It made me think of  how "they" say clothing make the man. Or how even smart people judge a book by the cover even though it might not occur to them.

ok, I had some time so, I wanted to review my dilemma at least once here so I might sort or work out a solution verbally. The real matter is that I am discouraged from the thing that lifted me up, and by a thing called common sense.

If I listen to this discouraging voice it will likely appear as wisdom, and it will help me reach everything I  hoped to accomplish in this life, but though, it is still possible to do something it seems wrong because of one thing, I will not be getting closer to my eternal goal.

But, even today in class it was pointed out how the factors that impede progress are real and I might actually avoid them, and by so doing get the thing I want RIGHT NOW.  But, when I type it out like that it hardly seems a valid question at all. Always choose the thing that you need over the thing that you want, even if what you want seems to have the greatest effect.

So, it is clear to me, even though I never actually explained the real concerns.

For as much as those details matter I might as well say that I see a fire potentially starting and I have a bucket of water in my prison cell and feel encouraged to dump it on the potential fire before it consumes me, but dying a firey death is the sort of tool discouragement uses sometimes to make us feel it is urgent, though instead, I would rather take my chances though it means possibly dying, because I know that I will need water.

brain dump RS notes

Lesson 18  on church leadership and selfless service.

No EXTERNAL faults, but maybe an internal spirit was working against him.Abrobation was expressed for others good works, but an unknown spirit would bring him trouble in it's selfish desire. (This reminds me of how evil can appear as good) In this case entirely unbeknowst top the deciever.

Now, I am reminded of the parable of a supper where the lowest position is taken because it is better to be asked to move to a higher place than to be openly abased by assuming to high of a position.

Story of the currant bush who was so overgrown and needed to be cut back to meet the measure of it's creation.  But after it was cut it appeared to cry and weep that it was so beautiful and tall, and it hurt to be trimmed back and loose all of it's "Standing". The man simply thought "I am the gardener here." and the bush was actually made better, though it did not seem so.

Do not seek to be too good too soon.

"Be Thou Humble"
"More Holiness Give me"

Mothers seem to feel less important and unable to do all of the great works of service that others do.

Do not think that you can ever do too much in feeding his sheep.

It is good to feed his sheep by doing seriously or visiting teaching.

We feel so fed when we gather at the feet of our leaders at conferences.

Most of the time, we influence without knowing it and that is how it should be.

When several talents are combined we may achieve perfection. It is through unity.

When we get callings it is to serve others not ourselves. We are given gifts and talents "May we pray before teaching." that what we teach might be the thing most valuable to others.

It doesn't matter if you spojke beautifully, or said something mesmorizing, we teach and learn with the spirit.

Keep in mind at all times what your motives are.

What are your motives for serving?
the world does so for glorification
 the church seeks to help.

Alot of the time, glory just comes in the church a pianist is an example. if they are very great, they will be heralded as great though it was never their intent.

Oct 1980 - These will I make leaders.

Work is not chosen by volunteer.

Diversity in marriage is over come in unity.making more possible.
(story comes to mind about the guy who was very in debt, but married a woman who has excellent credit so combined they had good credit, even though his was never actually forgiven, together more was possible)

"teach not as much by theory but by practice."

Humbled, dedicated men who are asked and qualified by the Lord to do his will.

(A good example would be Jesus Vs. Lucifer in the premortal counsel. we do not usually boast at being the best qualified though that may be the case as to who is overlooked because of pride.)

**A man without eloquence**

humility stems from a feeling of love when our leaders love us we can give it to others.

We all wonder what the Lord wants us to become.

brain dump (Sac. Mtg. notes)

Topic for the meeting was Paint a Missionary Badge on your heart.

Gospel goes to the whole world with the internet! So even if we cannot go into
china as missionaries, we can still get into hearts and minds.

It is easier to talk to a group of people who already believe what you do and want
to hear you, though they might catch anything wrong that you might say, than to
talk to strangers about very personal things core to what you believe.

we can start conversations with anything and naturally a gospel discussion will
ensue.

Faith is so much more than hope in something true.
1)Believe
2)Desire
3)Hope - must have hope
    a) be able to see your self achieving the thing.
    b) know that it is realistic
the point is to attain.

So, after hearing this his companion put it to a test, and they began their fast,
they accomplished some seemingly impossible goals but not all of them. By doing
they learned that the Lord provides what we need not necessarily the "goal" we had
in mind (but the goal gets us going).

A
S
K
is repeated over 120 times in the scriptures

this man knew and has been quite familiar with our stake president for years but he
was very moved regarding this topic, it was notable.

we should read a book called "preach the gospel to everyone".

On a mission to London, W. Woodruff found an entire group of people who had been
prepared by the Lord for the gospel.

When a person acts upon inspiration that is a miracle.

If you bring only one soul to God, you will know exquisite joy. though it may be
you alone, it might be someone else.

Told the story about the teachings of Alma the younger regarding a mighty change of
heart. speaker likened that to Elder Nelsons admonision to paint a badge on your
heart.

We will be directed who to speak to and it need not be anything beyond making
friends to share the gospel.

It could be that the people in your sphere of influence are starving for the gospel
truths that you have. these could be people in your family or online, we cannot
really tell.

In a survey people were asked what they wanted most that others had.
these ranked high:
-A closeness to God as is evident in Mormonism.
-A deep and abiding love for family.
-A sense of purpose in life and fulfillment like their Mormon friends.

It is not the doctrine that others seek, though we know it and so seek the truths there, others seek truth and find it in our example

When we teach doctrine it is the inner light that others feel that motivates them.

Among those who need our attention are thos who were once "on fire" and invite (key word) them to come back.

Let Every man decide for himself.

The true power of change comes from the spirit we cannot convince anyone of any truth, through explination or use of words (they do not have enough power).

we cannot predict who will accept our invitation, but we still need to maintain friendships.

Story of a couple who thought they knew who would make a great family in the church but after everything seemed to go so well, they rejected the gospel. So, the couple stopped that interaction, and confused the family who wondered what was going on with their friendship.

We do not always get things right, And trying to reason out success or intentions is not a good idea. It is better to just trust and obey.

We are encouraged to make a list of who to befriend, and act upon it. Do not try to decide if they are ideal or not.

Feel free to use Mormony words and speech in our conversations. They tend to give an opportunity to explain in an unakward conversation.

Invite others, maybe just to come to the open house. 1 out of 4 people will say no. Inviting is a win regardless.

If you pray about sharing, you will be given who to share

Risk taking

Taking a risk by definition means that there is a possibility for failure, I need to own up, this was one of the opportunities that never panned out. It was like the time Jim told me that he lost like 30,000.00 one morning, on a stock, like it was no big deal. I suppose wanting a great reward means you must fail sometimes. I will recover, it just takes a lot to admit that this is a failure.

Brain dump

Old testament is intregal for understanding everything we study, do, or believe.

Lord says, my arms are stretched out still. Even with everything that happens throughout.

Written by Moses, where are the books that Adam wrote or Noah, etc.

We are lucky to have the all of the things we have, like JST. Adam and Eve are a great example.

One teaches how and one teaches why. So they do not conflict. Very pertinent to the views of creation.

Only this world's begining.

Other world's people, don't we know or miss others.

Temple video text is same, but it speaks a different thing with the way it is depicted. Maybe that is how things progress in the world allowing us to have a more correct interpretation.

Pearl of great price, it is used a whole lot. Book of Moses makes it very clear who created.

Things were organized not created out of nothing. A quote in our manual.

Creation is caused by intelligent design, not by chance.

Desolate means without life.

Brooding: looking over.

We have an example with our children and how we work hard to create a happy existence that is like our world That God labored to create this home for us.

Light has one source.

Jewish start day reckoning with sunset.

If Sun was not created on first day, then it could not be used to define the amount of time of a day is.

The ammount of time of a day does not matter to religion.

We do not do our genealogy back to beasts or plants.

Interesting reason for division of state and religion. Church accepted Aristotle. Then Galileo opposed Aristotle and it was said that he  speaking against the church.

Things create it's own kind.

Things were good, obedience.

You are blessed by doing things in their own order. You needed to have things like water to have fish, this is like talent development and other personal experience.

God personally created man.

Proclamation on family was not as significant when it was made.

*I would like to learn more about Adam.*.perhaps Eve was my friend...

Mother in Heaven a doctrine that sits well with our prophet at that time, so the Lord.

Not really ready to understand things Moses was telling children of Israel. It was likened to teaching children about sex.

Very good, after the sixth day. It is ready to support the life of man!

First example of a person's commitment to things is their observation of the Sabbath day.

We measure our keeping the sabath by how worshipful.

Keep your dress on all Sunday that keeps you focused on the things you should do because you simply cannot do things that are inappropriate.

Things created in spirit before physically, found in Moses 3.

Mormons teach that we all existed in spirit before. Maybe all believe it, but only we embrace it doctrinally.

Find and read "Origin of Man"

Adam ondi Ahman. A place where he went post garden of Eden.

Soul tree. V. 9 it is a spirit and body.

Tree of knowledge of Good and Evil was put in the middle of the Garden, not off to the side. "You can choose what to do, but do not choose to eat it."

"It's not good to be alone."

Woman was not really created from a rib of a man, it was figurative. Really? Need further inspection...

There was a desire to be together, man and women.

"Bone of my bone" belongs together as a family. This often used as a phrase in Eastern cultures.

Helpmeet help one another.

In the temple we learn over and over the significance of the creation.

If teacher could do anything she would help the women realize that they are like Sunbeams and stop thinking about the things the world teaches.

Freedom (please revisit)

I am overwhelmed right now with things that I feel like I need to say, but I do not even know how to approach them, yet.

I wanted, right now, without time or delay to pass by and possibly thwart me, to say that I feel very strongly about Freedom. I wanted to incorporate the song "Free" from Barbie, princess and the Pauper, but just by mentioning you can see the spectrum it encompasses, any person, regardless of station or idenitity loves and has things to sing about. And because that feeling of love is so powerful and key to being human that makes religious freedom so important. Afterall, most people believe that their deity is love. and their diety requires all love, hindering thier worship at all would be trying to make them love as you would.

I would like to say something about Tolerance here, so I will reserve this space. Reserved Space, interesting how my brain works, the topic on my mind was how freedom has always been associated with a frontier. It was true with my religion and any who left their world to settle a new one, or even as basic as children leaving their family and clinging to their spouse. The couple wants to start their own little space with their own rules, not governed by their parents.

Ooops! don't ya' hate it when your computer updates itself? everything shut down and was lost. I think it is the same thing that those robots did on "I, Robot" I absolutely hate the amount of freedom that has been taken from me to pay for the ability to have the most up to date software. Honestly, times like this, I start to grumble about how it is "MY" computer, but then I realize that I have the freedom to turn it off. Which leads me to the bit that I lost about the woman in Pontotoc who raised a stink about prayers in school. Ok, I lived in Mississippi for years, and True, I was persecuted, in a way, but it was like not knowing what was updated on my computer, sort of the price of living there. My parents taught me the ways they thought were correct and then I eventually moved to Utah, where I found that I am more "proper" or "Orthodox" LDS than my husband who has pioneer ancestry on both sides of his family. So, I think that if you find that you are hampered and unable to love the way you want, go. Do not make everyone else change their established way to suit you.
King Solomon said there is a time and a place for everything under heaven, and I fully admit that people might not believe that any such man ever lived or said that, but I believe it and this is my blog where I said it.

That leads me directly to a discussion yesterday in a class I attended on church history about the effects of coffee on Prostate cancer. Now, just this year, April, actually, my grandfather passed away of this, he drank coffee, but I wanted to explore the religious freedom issues involved, as presented for discussion by a pupil. He said that as a doctor entitled to help all people what would he do if he was LDS, too? Do not we as Mormon esteem ALL truth where ever we find it? But, my teacher brilliantly directed our minds to the fact that our previous commitment, or covenant was made to God and we promised to avoid such and by so doing we must find another way to prescribe such benefits. It was pointed out how all harmful things can have a benefit. It reminded me of the time I had a terrible headache, but was pregnant and wanted to avoid drugs, so my mother-in-law helped me find a holistic means of relief. though frankly, at that time I would have taken a baseball bat to the head!

Religious freedoms like such are commonly in the forefront of life for those pursuing careers in more public fields. and it is both normal and to be expected. Our teacher pointed out that these situations become perfect reminders or symbols of who we are and what we must necessarily stand for. I will borrow a quote (although I do not know who it is from) "If you don't stand for something; you stand for nothing."

Ok, back to work, I was making breakfast, washing dishes, and dressing children, and somehow I need to managed squeezing in a time to make myself presentable...

Brain dump

My battery was running low so, I needed to make these additions from my written notes.
It is important not just to teach our children what. We too often know what to do or not do, like we were taught without knowing why.
We do it right or keep doing it. I wonder if that is why the GAs give so many talks. When are they going to get it right? They must be getting close.
Sabbath is a holy day. All that does not help us worship the Lord should be shunned.
Keeping the Sabbath requires that we.behave and do certain.things on the other 6 days.
We cannot possibly tithe our time because we already give 1/7.

Temple without recommend will not be admitted.

"It is a long way to walk to shake a hand."

Honor you parents by behaving well when away from home.

Obedience is honoring others.

Perspective changes the ease in going home. Sometimes must climb to top of canyon to see the intended outcome.

Opportunity to go church we keep the sabath day holy.

Going to church doesn't make you a saint as going to an automechanic doesn't make you a car.

Attending church is ad important to our spirits as a blood transfusion is a physical body in need.

Stake conference was a opportunity to take off.

If you ever have a doubt pay attention to how you feel. Just talk to pres. Gil about the ward, stake, or you personally. You will feel that type of Love.

Taking the sacrament is,never to be done unworthily.

We receive a portion, like a well, but it can only become more if we attend church.

Lorenzo Snow's feelings will not be easily forgotten. This reminds me of how we were told that if we ever doubt anything trust how we feel.

When a thing is pressing on us it is essential to talk to the Lord.

He couldn't think of a sacrifice that was too great.

They retired to the mountains to pray. Liken mountains to the temple.

It (the miracle) was a huge turning point not only for the boy and president Snow, but it was a miracle for the whole area. *we never know when our struggle will result in a way that effects others.*

The Lord is responsible for great works "God has done this for you."

Sometimes our blessings and gifts seem to sacred to share.

Fran's story about being a nanny in New Jersey in her own home in back that was soooooo dark, and how she got a blessing after and not regarding a situation where The lord mentioned how he was, protecting her unaware she had, been in danger but was saved.

When priesthood is doing a thing like a blessing or baptism, they are only being the hands of God, and he does this all

This is the church of Jesus Christ who is actually responsible for all of the goings on. We are his hands.

There is no such thing as a sacrifice that is too great because the blessing is always equal or,better.

Oh, I get it now. One good thing. When we find the good, what is this good anyway? thing it is worthy of any sacrifice.

It is not what we hear, but what we feel when we get a blessing.

Double brain dump

Western Europe only now invited.

Story about going to chilli and flying home.

Impossible for another person to offend you.

Number one reason people leave church is being offended.

Orson Hyde struggled with hos weight. But his stature was not as large as his spirit.

It was common to farm out childen when you had more than you could support.

Moved to Missouri he left the church because he was told that Joseph Smith was a false prophet.

Lyman somebody took his place on the quorum of 12,apostles.

His wife Miranda suffered a lot when he went away for a while.

Brother (indentured servant) Luke Johnson, but left church but came back. Story of Lyman needs to be read, he left but remained friendly.

Orson might have become 3 prophet but seniority was changed when things were reorganized. By consecutive time in leadership role.

He memorized the Bible.

Orson Hyde dedicated Jersusalem for the return of the saints.

He was a polygamist, but the book gives a better perspective.

1832- Death of prophet.

Study history by year.

Stop translating the gospel and start defending it. But in 42.went back to it.

Important part of translation was to instruct Joseph and it was a unified gospel in all of the books, purpose to restore the Gospel as it was intended.

Church is true and living, living prophet is key.

Section of 71. President of the priesthood and president of the church. The difference.

He served as RS president in Peru. All of the people he baptized are inactive, now, the place that was thought might not make it, but now multiple stakes there.

BYU srudents who are anti knee-high Levis who protest. Cut off.

"You leave the church but can't leave it alone." It is a greater condemnation to come back.

Story about brother Stevens disliking Jane Fonda. And letting it go to stand in the prayer circle.

We need to stand back and let God deal with it.

82:7 like the Mission where they dig up the old war stuff to combat, undoing all they had done. Like story where Bishops listen to confessed sins that had been done before.

There is a time when our reason for doing a thing changes when we keep our eye single to God.

Holier than thou is not a good way to be. We can learn good things from other places. The earlier saints could not convert because saints acted like they were chosen.

Section 83. Women and children have claim on husbands.

Brother Scott asked Divorced men if they are generous with Child support. Responsibility does not end with Marriage.

20 has sacrament prayers and used to be 3rd Chapter

84 used to be Chapter 4 in first edition.

God delights in blessing his children, but all of us who are parents know how a parent can be that nice.

Listen closely about how seriously we should take the gospel.

Treasuring his word is more than just reading.

Remember something from each chapter, that is not seeking and treasuring.

Recording the things you learn from reading.

109 - every calling needs others "Lift where you stand."

85 - Phelps did not think Bishop Partridge was doing his calling well, so that trouble was solved by the Lord replacing on mightier and stronger. Apostates a lot of them claim to be mightier and will set things in order.

Prophet will never lead us astray. Good people might mislead and lead astray, some might be accidental, but even very good and respectable people.

Church is true and restored.

Moses 1, Abraham 3

Lesson2 gen 1-2,.Moses 2-3, Abraham 4-5

For a beautiful experience, study the plan of salvation and then go to the temple.

Our lesson actually should be 4 lessons

Father used to wake up at 4am and lock himself in the bathroom.

He would regularly, call and ask a question and then give the answer.

Genesis - Job is the most neglected because it is so far removed.

The scriptures read by Jesus, the apostles, and BoM would have been the old testament.

Soul delights in the scriptures said Nephi.

Creation to before savior was born.

When we get too casual with our relationship with the Lord we need to read the scriptures.

Message for every standard work is of Christ his coming and his atonement.

Jehovah is God of the Old Testament. Keep that in mind as we study all the books of the Old testament.

Repent or perish. - the message

A lot of info is taken from Rasmussen's book.

We have resources we can find anything we seek on the internet.

Would like to meet Abraham. How did he stay so strong when his father went so far away.

A random person said that she fell in love with Nehemiah.

Present plan of salvation over and over but avoid redundancy.

Adults sure make things complicated.

Something really bad happened cause they didn't have any clothes on.

If you have wicked people around, then move.

Called Children of Israel on LDS.Org

Go back to basics and stick to it sometimes we make it too complicated when we have studied it all of our life, but for teaching people who are new to the gospel, it is better to be certain that we are accurate.

Teacher loves astronomy and would love to teach us more about it. Like my father taught about it.

This urim and thumin is not the same as the one Joseph Smith had.

Were assigned a star to follow.

Kolob as also our Savior.

Some spirits are more intelligence, but have no begining or end. This fact is like the existance of stats and Kolob. Expressed in pictures because they might communicate what words cannot.

"We know they were all innocent in the begining ..."

Nobel and great ones, does this include women? as well as Joseph Smith and Abraham.

We are here as assigned a time and place. It was intended.

Can be foreordained but still not be obedient. And not benefit as much from this estate.

Why do not have the book of Enoch. Was that it was left out because it taught something not deemed as important or in otherwise in line.

In v. 17 of Moses Chapter 1 we learn that this Moses scripture was chronologically between the burning bush and "Let my people go" time.

Small as a seed has great potential. So do we as children of God.

We earn Eternal Life, whereas immortality is given to all through resurrection.

If we read the old testament it will strengthen and enrich our lives.

Would he?

I was spending the remains of morning contemplating where I wanted to go, keeping in mind that the journey is the destination, so live up to your potential and all that stuff. When a singular piercing thought interrupted me, "why wouldn't he?" Sort of annoying, that nagging voice, at times. Would he what? Nothing.

I could not just drop it there though could I? No, forgetting such a puzzle is out of the question. So, I dwelt on it, then again, " He would." Plain as could be, still my question remains, what would he I assume it is an action

My answer to myself is well, atleast I know he will. So, if I ever decide that I would if... Well, he would. Sorta funny, huh? Pestering and nagging won't work so probably, it will just fester inside until it clicks and I get it.

Close, but I do not smoke...

In other words, no cigar. Just forced me to do some more realizing. The way a normal mind works is that to make a choice you create a imaginary scenario and then think of everything that could potentially go wrong and if everything that could go wrong did and you are ok with it, then your choice has, been made.

I like the analogy of painting the floor and I realize that I am painting myself into a corner and like a writer for MacGyver I must figure a way out, and each time I do another problem besets me so I ought to just consider  staying in the corner until the paint dries, and that would seem the most sensible, but I am determined to have aliens fly through the window and beam me out to safety, and then once their prisoner I will have a new improved problem. Again, I think maybe any solution is too good to be true, but I have a previous obligation and that meeting does not allow me to just wait for the paint to dry, though I have decided that I am not going to be supernaturally saved, the fact remains that I have a meeting to be at and I am expected to attend.

I can not sleep

I feel restless and cannot fall asleep until I figure out why.

What harm could actually be done by living the gospel.

We read the Book of Mormon to get something new each time. If we tell someone else to read it, it will backfire and we will just be the one reading it.

110% LDS. In Wyoming where you can se forever. He moved and there were bushes everywhere. And awesome analogy of how that is like how when we are born we have a veil and can no longer see everything.

A woman said that she would not be a teacher, but prayed and was told that she should be a teacher. Was a teacher for 31 years.

We can know and do what is right.

Parable of the talents.

Shows what we can do with the talents we have been given.

Be willing to take risks?

Everyone has the ability to tell right from wrong.

Everyone has talents.

We are told in our pat. Bless what we are given from heavenly father.

We have a responsibility of nurturing them.

Glorify our father in heaven.

1) We should evaluate our talents.

2) be willing to spend time and energy to develop that talent.

3) must have faith in our father and our self.

4) learn skills necessary to develop a talent. An example would be woodworking. Or public speaking.

5) take the time to master a thing.

6) but, be willing to share your talent.

Using a talent will help round out a develop things that we do not do right now.

Enoch was slow of speech.

That which we persist in doing becomes easier, not because the thing becomes easier, but because we become better or more skilled.

We will be held accountable for what we have accomplished from what we are given.

What if the person who composed a song had never written it, would you have it to listen to?

You never know who will benefit from our talent.

You can develop and become very good at, maybe there is something that you are supposed to do.

What is the stand of LDS women. All different ages.

Our lesson is about our divine role as women.
Roman Catholic Women Priests.

Older women who are looking for a greater role. Interviewed women.

Interviews transcribed for a book. On why and what they sought.

If we know who we are and where to be then there is nothing for us but fulfillment.

Women have a very important roleand always, have. We have a divine birthright.

Mother directed family of Elder Oaks.

Abuse is not the priesthood though it may be men.

Did not have a male rolemodel in her home, but she assumed responsibilities, but relied on the ward to teach and do the things that she needed.

Sometimes it is hard to see the positives, because there seems to be so many.

In hospital, her neighbor said, how she must have had a big family or lots of friends... Because of all the Ward did to help them.

Men is not synonym with priesthood.
There are keys though... Reminds me of my dad talking about how he felt the key of being a bishop being removed when he was released.

The Lord can protect you when priesthood is not there, but if you can get the blessings.

Women have claim on all blessings of the keys of the priesthood.

Bounderies regional geographic responsibility. And duration outside of the home. Patriarchal vs. Heirarchal.

We as women are not silent or non active ingredient. :) in the home.

Differences in how you honor bishop vs. Husband.

We need to respect the office that men in our lives hold.

No power ought to ever be held over us.

We are all human. Maybe the man is not perfect, but their calling is and the Lord chose them to fill it.

Never pictured her life without a priesthoodholder.

God does not love anyone more than others. This is true in any relationship or unified organization.

Most rediculous thing

I went to a class at a local church in college. They were studying Jesus Christ and I loved learning more anywhere I could. We read a scripture that told to be wary of false prophets. It made me happy to study about Prophets because clearly they had always been part of the Lord's church, but instead the teacher pointed out and asked us to ponder that. Ok. But, it was under nefarious direction. Before he let us think he made the comment that at least their church did not have any prophets.

Then, later on the radio, there was a huge discussion about the leadership of the Catholic church, which I had high opinions of from youth culminating in a thing a host sister in Germany told me she said, "The way I see it is it is either you guys (Mormons) or us. Cause either we became corrupt and needed restoration or we still retained the proper leadership directly through the hands of Christ himself." So, they were discussing how terrible it was for the priests and arch bishops to abuse or molest children, parents trusted them. The announcer asked his guest an archbishop if the pope knew about this all along and did nothing. The reply was that well, THEY were not, nor had ever claimed to know everything, it is not like the pope was a prophet or anything.
