Story about a laundress and two pots. A cracked blue pot. The pot was upset that it was failing to meet it's potential by loosing water. Many of us are like that in that we feel cracked and upset that we fall short but wisely, the laundress knew the pot would leak and planted flowers along the path. Similarly our Lord knows our shortcomings and uses our failings to another wise purpose. That blue cracked pot looked and saw that although it lost washing water, it gave necessary water to the various flowers along the way, so likely as it looked on the blooms it could see all of the blessings it bestowed. Our shortcomings are taken into consideration and a beautiful garden was cultivated although we ought never stop trying for perfection we will be so happy to see what a blessing we had been unaware to us.
Many things do not even matter eternally speaking, so the choice can be made clearly... Or sometimes God does not even concern himself in finding a way to answer us.
Whever we have to act we make a choice.
" In the years since I heard that testimony, I have wondered how different that young couple’s life would have been if they had made another choice—forgoing the sacrifice necessary to be married in the temple. "
Consequences due to sacrifice, like the couple who chose to not be married until they could do it right, the choice was clear.... Pause to think, maybe I need to ask what to do although I already sorta know my purpose... I know that this is a crack in my pot.
"Just because something is good is not a sufficient reason for doing it." -Elder Oaks
Even when presenting warning voice as is our duty, we need to present the options with love and acceptance.
"For us, the end is always on the covenant path through the temple to eternal life, the greatest of all the gifts of God."
