God like, do the things God does. His purpose is manifest in ordinances.

Every begining is the end of another thing. We need the sacrament to renew all of our covenants. Renew means begin again.

Covenanted followers observes ordinances. Cannot have covenant without an ordinance.

Nephi needed the book because it contained the covenants of his father's which were necessary.

A side comment was this passage which stood out: when I, Nephi, had heard these words,

We were studying the purpose that Laban was slain, but the way Nephi is written of as not being prompted, but through hearing a thing which reminded him of another.

People in the book of Ether did not have book of covenants of father's and it was recorded so that that they might be an example to us as to why those scriptures are so important.

A huge difference between Nephi and Laman & Lemuel:

And it came to pass that when the angel had spoken these words, he said unto me: Rememberest thou the covenants of the Father unto the house of Israel? I said unto him, Yea.

Strive means: make great efforts to achieve something.

Go and DO.

After hard things have been endured then you can feel joy, genuine.

When we Press forward that great effort will leave an impression.

I was looking for a favorite scripture because I actually do not have one yet. Here it is: from Mosiah 26

30 Yea, and as often as my people repent will I forgive them their trespasses against me.

Iron rod is needed when mists of darkness come to know the way.

This world that surrounds us is like the mists of darkness, and we need to find instruction somewhere.

It makes sense to me that we would be drawn to the temple because Revelation or an iron rod was needed.

just making a note of a thing I read

As I matured and began to understand the magnificence of Heavenly Father’s plan, I often said to myself, “I don’t want one more Christmas present! I just want to be sealed to my parents.” That longed-for event did not happen until my parents were past 80, and then it did happen. I cannot fully express the joy that I felt that day, and each day I feel that joy of their sealing and my being sealed to them.

Nothing opens the heavens quite like the combination of increased purity, exact obedience, earnest seeking, daily feasting on the words of Christ in the Book of Mormon, and regular time committed to temple and family history work.
