Testimonies of seminary.
Brother Johnson
Never could miss seminary although could miss other classes. Even now, we never miss institute. It is as essential as eating for your body.
Challenge all to keep attending and pay attention in seminary it will form who you become.
If you go to seminary for the reason of appearing good and setting best example, but it will start to mold you.
HEIDENTHALLER
You always have someone right with you to help if you need this. In this way his seminary class was a metaphor for life, he went to "special needs" class, where most needed help, but they were alwsys there to ask.
TAYLOR
the approach where just didn't attend, but realized how important it was.
Bad friends are not bad to be friends with, but they are not happy, and cannot.
"There comes a time when we must be brave and surround myself with those who want the same things."
We make good choices and that brings good consequences. But, it must be continued.
We need to go to the temple to commune with the Lord, and you will feel his peace... but it fades, so we need to return(added the last part).
More than a desire is needed to feel peace. Action is required... that evolution is the hardest. It is hard to convert our wishes into doing. I want a thing sincerely, but I have not taken the leap of faith to do anything, yet. I am sort of praying and hoping for something to just happen and I will recognize it.
Enduring to the end means to go back and start over from the begining. It is not enough to just do the steps and then just stick with them, but we do not need to be rebaptized, literally.
Every person has a fire within them.
Why do you go to church? The sacrament is most important, because the foundation of everything is Jesus Christ, if we ever hope to understand that we need church, scriptures, and prayer. And after we find the initial peace. Or like the peace we need that fills us comes from a budding relationship with our savior.
Leaving the church is blamed on many things, but it is always really one of those fundamental things that is missing and thus we are not actively building a rekationship with our Savior so chyrch isn't so important any more.
Principle is a teaching whereas an ordinance is that it is a sacred ordinance.
What "fufill all righteousness" means is obedience.
*****Read: Always retain a remission of sins by Elder Bednar*****
Now, they get baptized and confirmed there is a time period where it must be done...as evidence that Holy Ghost is essential to purifying process.
This is the Lord's Church and so thigs must,be done in the same proper orderly way. With proper authority, too.
Immersion is symbolic of the new life that will occur. It marks a point of burial of the old person.
We are reborn spiritually.
I am trying to think of a situation where immersion would be required to fully clease a thing.
Baptism is likened to an actual birth of our physical bodies.
Like cain and able what made Cain's action so terrible is that it is disobedience and he follows satan.
Good place to look during sacrament meeting!
Need to do a totally unexpected thing on baptism. Thing you have never done before so they remember being baptized.
Then when we enter the temple and do those ordinances, we will leave perfect.
Augustine was the one who started the baptism by sprinkling.
Preisthood power - authority.
We are here to qualify ourselves for the positions that Heavenly Father has for us in the next world, much as we had done previously.
Mother praises the priesthood power by magnifying the work that must be done in the family.
When mother passed they got to discuss together who she would see first.
Was going to breathe until every sibling was there.
She could be at peace because things were done previously to enable her to have that power and peace.
The story Deanna shared how being the glue of family it magnifies priesthood.
With a help meet. All men and women have access to the power we are endowed with it.
So how can women do those things to exercise an inborn power.
The price we pay with preisthood power in consistantly doing the things necessary to earn trust of others that they can turn to you to request priesthood blessings.
Do I have a testimony?
I don't know, do you? (To a child)
Well, if you do not know, you better find out. (to a missionary)
Pride interferes with preisthood power. Because, you are concentrated on YOUR will.
"Are you willing to pray for more power to pray for what I need."
Seminary is to teach us to feel the voice of the Lord.
"Are you willing to go to the temple regularly?"
Preisthood power is developed through magnifying your marriage.
Why do we know that priesthood is inborn.
Differences between counsel and direction. Is significance, so do not shut down the listening, or ability to do.
Must be used. To grow in strength. Like muscles.
We mourned for her years ago, because she was not who she was. Was unable to magnify the preisthood. And her husband cared for her to the last.
He was able to let go because he didnot want to prolong the suffering.
Earthquakes in home...
Father and brother were willing to do what was needed for the benefit of two daughters.
It is interesting that a preisthood holder cannot bless himself.
Strongly, now, I feel like Heavenly Father does know me and my weaknesses and he knows how to prompt me, and I feel prompted through the things that I heard that I do not want to claim my place if the one with me fails. I am what is commonly referred to as "in love" at the same time, it is so much more, it is almost selfish, because I would cease to exist except to love him.
Bearing our testimony or commenting in class strengthens our knowledge although we might rather hear from another to strengthen us, it is often true that as we pass on the pathway up we notice others who had such better things to say, but because they did not share, they do not grow. I often am the stupid one on class, making mamy foolish to itelevant comments, but tge Lord blesses me for my effort and sees my desire to know more, and so it has been a blessing to see how much more those around me know.
“In this life, we have to make many choices. Some are very important choices. Some are not.
