First Brain dump for 2014

Cold temperature warm hearts. Seen on a sign.

How do you get a testimony? Do what is right and then it is a gift that is given to know.

If everyone in the world was as stalwart as the members of this ward, we would probably be living in the millennium.

When we bear our testimonies we become more astute and strengthen what we know.

It is a gift to know something.

Even though things get hard, there have been miracles.

Scriptures have the answers they are right there, sometimes we just need to open them.

After she gave her talk she heard the best con talk on her subject, but could not share it because her talk was already given. How often does that happen? To me it demonstrates that we are being prepared to receive a great truth.

It is the awesome experiences  when we suffer, but do not make it known to anyone, "The hypocrites appear disfigured...."

Things of any real worth can be made at home.

A young boy said, "I do not know what is done, but I think this is what is done..." It was an eye opener to me that he started telling a story.

It is one of our greatest tests to follow imperfect men. Said in regard to our priesthood leaders who actually hold the keys though others might find fault with them.

The Lord is a great man.

Nature always reminded me whenever I doubted things. The creator must be acknowledged as our father.

Otherwise the odds of things all happening as they did is much less likely than winning the lottery.

Hasn't anyone else asked or been so answered?

"Philosophical meandering of inspired men..."

There are things that you cannot know with your eyes.

What you know does not need to be said it will be demonstrated by everything about you.

Gavin asked me where is God right now.

Because we do not understand the nature of God we fail to see himself.

We can choose where we fit in, we will and are wanted to be happy.

Our parents make us do things that are not desirable right now because we are aiming for a harder better goal.

We have a portion of divinity within us.

Time management meeting in January.

Gratitude is akin to humility. It needs to be strengthened.

Immediate gratitude is important. We might intend to but then we never get around to it.

I was skeptical of the lyric from the hymn Count Your Many Blessings, so I put it to a test, and started a gratitude journal.

It really makes a huge difference to see the things that Brandall makes the kids go to what great lengths they go through to say thank you. With a call or a note. Now, they value that and will always do it.

Maybe eating Jack Rabbit in the dark makes us feel the true feeling of gratitude.

Gratitude journals are a great way to show things to our posterity. Teacher gave us journals and challenged us to write three things each day to write.

My parting thought is how when the kids seem to be ungrateful or oblivious in their behavior I get very upset but it is probably a mirror showing me my own failures.

If gratitude is like humility should we pray for it and be afraid of how we might be answered, too?
