I listened to a song from "my generation" and laughed to think that someone thought that type of long hair, high bangs, skinny, smoker type was considered most desirable, surely no one actually thought that. I saw the world as being a completely different one then the one plastered all over the media. It is no wonder I pretty much ignored what was going on in the rest of the world because the things they suggested seemed completely insane and undesirable. I missed out on people like NKOTB, and that was entirely undone forteen girls in my age group. I could not tell you a name or song, though they were considered popular.
In my mind it was an urban thing. I was rural our world's simply did not cross and now I see how another word for that self-suffient life-style is back woods.
This is funny. A friend of mine was having a party for her birthday, and it was in Watertown, which isn't really a town, so I asked for specific directions and she told me that it would be at her house, in the boondocks. At one point we walked through the woods, looking for mushrooms and I thought that place must be the boondocks, which I thought was an actual place.
Going to church we used to drive though Argyle, and I thought that everyone had a guile and this place was ours. My aunt and uncle owned a hardware store there! In our guile.
